Always authentic and great bbq. I have been a patron of this establishment for years and they never disappoint. Great service, great food. Love the center cut ribs, all of the vegetable items are too legit to quit. Whatever you purchase you will be satisfied. Sylvan Road. Atlanta

My first trip to D&D wont be my last. Just a few hundred feet off of 166 sitting on an old gas station on Sylvan road I found my new favorite rib joint. D&D has a fairly typical but limited BBQ menu. The items they do have are pretty darn good. Don’t go there expecting beef brisket. Only beef they have are beef ribs. By what I can tell they specialize in pork and chicken items.
I called in my order and it was ready when I walked in the door. The two guys behind the counter were very friendly and polite. You can tell they enjoy what they do and take pride in D&D.
This is strictly a take-​out joint. There is no place to sit down to eat. Take it back home with you, back to work or eat it in the car. I don’t recommend the car unless you have tons of napkins and wet wipes.
I ordered the rib tip dinner which comes with 2 sides. The to-​go container was PACKED FULL OF FOOD. This is definitely more food than I can eat in one sitting. The two sides were potato salad and candied yams. The potato salad had good flavor but had too much extra stuff in it. (onions peppers etc) The yams were out of this world and probably the best yams I have ever eaten.
The rib tips and BBQ sauce had good flavor. Some were a little dry but not bad. Nothing a little extra sauce cant help to fix. The dinner was also served with two pieces of white bread. Good for soaking up the sauce.
Im not sure why but I felt inclined to order the banana pudding which I could tell was not store bought ! It was absolutely hand /​home made. Good stuff !!
For my dinner plate with 2 sides, desert and a large drink I paid almost $ 16 but Im pretty sure I got $ 20 worth of food.
I will surely be back to try the ribs and then the pork plate sometime soon.
I gave 4 stars for great service, good food, excellent portion size, decent value.

Not much to look at. But the rib tips are great. They put me in a blissful meat stupor for the night.

My first time here the food was mediocre at best. I ordered a rib tip dinner with Mac n cheese, green, and yams. The ribs were tough and salty, Mac n cheese had No flavor, greens had a weird flavor to them and I swear the yams were right out of a can! Needless to say I was disappointed. But apparently not to disappointed to give D&D another shot because a couple of weeks later I had a craving for bbq! Found myself back at D&D cause the spot I wanted closed at 8pm. This go round I ordered for two. Another rib tip dinner as before and a hot wing combo with a small macncheese. Boy was that a mistake!!! For starters I ordered hot wings, you know with… hot sauce. Well I received lemon pepper wings with very little to no lemon pepper on them and no Mac n cheese on the side. And sadly the rib dinner wasn’t any better. For the most part my ribs were tough and dry. The flavor was salty and the sauce was greasy and tasteless. Mac n cheese, yams and greens — hated them! But, my dogs on the other hand seemed to really enjoy it. Needless to say I won’t be returning.

Had the beef rib plate with Mac and cheese. Was good. Will be back soon. Heard the banana pudding is amazing.

This is another disappointing BBQ place. The wait was good you can order and get your food within 15 minutes however the Ribs were tough the sides I had were small and not seasoned.

Crossed another BBQ spot off my bookmarked list. 3 stars because :
The ribs were very good although they lacked char which is a personal preference. The sauce was tasty but lacked runny nose spice (again another personal preference). The collards were tender but seemed to lack complex a flavor resulting from onion, garlic and hot pepper flakes. They also had the large stems resulting in cross cutting the leaf as opposed to the more time consuming method of cutting down the stalk. The m&c was a complete and utter failure. It tasted like it came from a box including the powdered cheese taste.
All in al I would stop again for just the ribs which I could take home and add better sauce to compliment my own sides.

Hands down some of the best BBQ I have ever tasted. Get you some, ribs awesome flavor and pull right off the bone, some pretty good baked beans also.

This place was OK. I got the rib tip dinner with greens and cole slaw. The portion was ample, but the rib tips were swimming in very sweet sauce. The greens were somewhat bitter (this is OK with me but others mind), the Cole slaw wasn’t very good. It wasn’t creamy at all; theft only discernable flavor was sugar. It was SO sweet. I didn’t eat it. The Mac and cheese that my husband got was pretty good. There’s no where to eat here. Not even outside, not a biggie, just something to consider. My husband got the actual ribs which is the reason for the mark down on stars. The ribs weren’t terribly hot (just sorta warm), and the collagen in the ribs wasn’t well broken down. He didn’t finish them, which says a lot.

I live in the neighborhood and have driven past this place so many times, but never went. That changed this week, and I’ve had mixed results with the food but have never wavered in enjoying the service.
The first time I went, I got the chopped pork sandwich and a side of baked beans. The pork was REALLY smoky, to the point where you didn’t even really taste the sauce. It was overpowering and not in a good way. The beans were good, but sweet. I prefer sweet, so I loved them, but I thought it was important to mention that.
I stopped in tonight after thinking about the catfish dinner I’d seen advertised on their wall. They were out of catfish. That’s my fault for showing up at 9:30 on their last day of business for the week, but it was a letdown. I went for the chopped chicken sandwich and a side of mac and cheese and was THOROUGHLY pleased with this meal. The chicken didn’t have the overly powerful smoke flavor and really let the barbecue sauce star. And the mac and cheese is the style I like, where it’s a dryer side and not swimming in cheese. So good.
While my results have been mixed, I gave this four stars because of the service. The gentleman behind the half-​door is so friendly and took 5 minutes to look around for catfish and even asked the two others working that night if they had any left. He is friendly and kind and very engaging. In addition, the joint is super clean and very fast. I got my food in less than five minutes and it’s hot and just made … I can tell.
I will not be waiting a year to go back here. :)

I hv bn going here since I was a teen. I would crave these ribs when I would visit Atl. Great service and food.

So we came because my aunt who’s visiting loves her BBQ heard good things and has not been able to find anything comparable. She was so excited, but was completely disappointed. She really had high hopes for her ribs to be cooked in the smoker and falling off the bone, but I guess it wasn’t. Needless to say, she will not be going back. But my fiancé has been in Atlanta for over 10 years and thinks it’s the best he’s found in Atlanta, but then again, he will also go eat at Shane’s rib shack… so, not sure. i’ll just rate it in the middle.

D&D is a great BBQ place!
Our church is located across the street, we started eating here a little over a year ago!
The BBQ sauce is the best I think I have ever had, the food is awesome and the owners and staff are very nice and friendly.
I HIGHLY recommend this place to everyone who can get down here!
This is a take out place, come get some BBQ and take it back home or eat it in the car, just make sure you have plenty of napkins because your going to want to eat every bite and lick your fingers till you get every taste!

Amazing BBQ… family atmosphere… real home cooked meals with very reasonable price

This spot was recommended to me after 3 attempts at getting Soul Train BBQ to make some tender beef ribs. Without a doubt, D&D is the real deal when it comes to BBQ. This place blew me out of the park. I couldn’t believe it! Their ribs literally fall off of the bone and the sauce is incredible! Their vegetables are pretty good too. The staff takes very good care of you and it didn’t take long to get a meal on a Saturday night. I think I waited 10 minutes max. Also these folks got a 95% on their health inspection so in addition to getting a great tasty meal you’re also eating from a healthy environment, which is a good combination. I highly recommend this place. You won’t be disappointed.

My real estate agent took me here while we were in the area looking at houses. I was initially skeptical, but the guy working there was super nice, fast, and friendly. The food was very good and authentic BBQ. I would definitely recommend trying it out! Oh, and despite outward appearances, the place was very clean, and their health inspection score was a 98!

Good, not great but will work if you are in the area as most of the other places are pretty nasty.
