I love their flowers and the ease of placing orders. Every time I have used them the service has been top notch and responses from my wife have excellent.

So since my sweet man is good at flowers, I consulted him when I decided that the only thing I could do for a bestie struggling with a bunch of stuff was get her flowers. I did a little online research(it’s been awhile since I’ve sent anyone flowers and while I knew the ones he’d gotten me had to be spendy, goodness! I digress…). Ash and I have been friends since we were eight. When we fought for Queen Bee title in third grade; I had been at my old school and she was at my new one. Fast forward 27 years and she’s still at the top of my friend list. Her birthday is on Monday and she’s been having a rough go of a lot of things. Listening to her the other day, I thought, «you know, it makes me smile so big to get flowers, this is exactly what she needs.» I got paid on Tuesday and she was on my list of people for whom I can do nice things, so to speak. After realizing I couldn’t logistically pick out flowers at Whole Foods(where he got my gorgeous lillies) and deliver them to her in Vinings, ordering was my best bet. I found a number of good ideas on the Wright’s and the Dan Martin websites, but the particular pink-based arrangement I found at Dan Martin caught my eye. See the picture. She was delighted — and said they smell good, too! I ordered before 9 am and she had them around lunchtime. Email confirmation was almost instantaneous. If you have a special someone of any type who needs a floral celebration, go with Dan Martin.

I was in need of a thank you gift for the two lovely ladies who checked everyone in at Unilocal’s Masquerade, and I figured a nice bouquet of flowers was a good option. So I’m in Buckhead, pull up my Unilocal app, and proceed to drive around lost for 30 minutes trying to find various florists. Don’t worry, I have now cleaned up all of the listings for y’all, because I swear, some of these places just don’t exist anymore. Anyhow, I quite honestly stumbled across Dan Martin’s cozy little cottage and thought it’d be the perfect place to grab something nice. I walked inside and instantly knew that I wouldn’t be getting anything especially artful or hip: this place is old school. Like, my grandmother’s house old school. Except not as nice as my grandmother’s. Tzotchkes were EVERYWHERE and they had decorated for Valentine’s Day, as well. Lots of silk flowers were scattered around as long as various gift, pottery, plates and the like. Absolutely nothing I’d want to buy, or receive. Not even if I was older: it all looked pretty cheap. Still, the flowers in the back cooler looked to be in good condition and rush hour was approaching so I forged on. I pointed to an already-arranged vase and said that I’d like something along those lines and gave a price. My price point was about half of what the arrangement originally was, so we discussed what I liked about that particular bouquet, namely the bright colors. Hooray. The florist was happy to put two bouquets together for me and the flowers themselves turned out to be quite lovely, especially for my rather low price point. Unfortunately she nestled them in some seriously gaudy orange netting, matched with an equally Halloween-y orange bow. Yikes. Luckily I knew the bouquets would be quickly removed from the packaging and put in gorgeous vases soon, so I didn’t complain. But yeah, orange. REALLY orange. While certainly not the best flower shop in Buckhead, Dan Martin will do in a pinch, especially if you know what you’re looking for.
