I picked Dr. Wadsworth because she was close to my home, on a MARTA bus line(at least for now) and has parking that is free. I have some doctors who have parking that you have to pay for by the half hour and that sucks! Anyway– It turned out to be an excellent choice for more than those reasons. She is an awesome doctor and I love her staff. Once I went in after having a swollen ankle for a week– I thought it was nothing but it was still swollen so I went in to see her. She confirmed that it was just bruised– nothing serious. But then she said that I really needed to get a spot checked out by a dermatologist IMMEDIATELY. It was on the underside of my ankle so it wasn’t something I could really see. It was a tiny little spot– it looked like someone had dropped a Sharpie on me and made a mark. It turned out to be melanoma. Luckily Dr. Wadsworth noticed it and was just ONIT! How many doctors might have just overlooked it or thought nothing of it? Luckily it was caught at such an early stage that I was able to get it taken off, had the area cleared and am now cancer free!!! She’s not a pusher of antibiotics and I can appreciate that. She also does gyno exams and is pretty serious about having you get your annual physical. Kind of annoying BUT that is kind of a sign that she is a good doctor, right? She’s into prevention– maintaining and being as healthy as possible. I like that. I had the boss from hell– well mostly she had a second in command who is the devil and the boss was just meh. Anyway, Devil called up the doctor’s office to verify my note(Devil had determined in absence of the boss that use of a sick day to the doctor required a note) and they stood firm with maintaining my privacy rights. AND they called me back to make sure I was ok because Devil was being all kinds of nutso. That was more than they had to do and it was appreciated. I had a friend stay with me for a while and he went to see Dr. Wadsworth and was equally taken with her skills and just had a great experience. I can imagine some people might need a different kind of doctor. I have some friends/ex’s who get all kinds of pathetic, cranky, whiney and needy when they get the sniffles. She’s not going to blow your nose or hold your hand and tell you that your poop is all rainbows and sparkles. If you want a doctor who will do stuff like that– maybe Dr. Wadsworth isn’t the right match for you. She’s perfect for me, though!

Don’t listen to the thin-skinned unless you are thin skinned. Dr. Wadsworth doesn’t mince words. Simply put, she doesn’t waste your time. I much prefer this type of dialogue to having to decode what someone means because they are afraid to communicate. She’s a very competent and polite Doctor who I have been using for years now, and I recommend her to everyone.

I went to see Dr Wadsworth just because it’s close to my house, no recommendation. Yes, she is not one to be chit chatting or being extra sweet, but she did what i needed and both her and the staff were great all through it. she saw me the same day i had pain, diagnosed me with gallstones, took care of the tests really quickly, the staff would help me book appointments, and she refered me to a really great surgeon and my surgery went really well. She called me on the weekend to check on me and despite what anyone says to me here, she did prescribe me drugs for pain, and she didn’t try to sell me herbs or read me tarot cards. I would recommend her to anyone, but no, she is not soft spoken, but then again, that’s what i want on a therapist, not a physician.

I had my second visit with Dr. Wadsworth today. After not being sure what to think of her last month, I was very impressed and enjoyed today’s consultation. She is brusque at times, but seems to know what she is talking about and has recommendations aside from drugging one up.(That can be refreshing in this day and age!)
