David Scurlock, MD

I wouldn’t write a positive review if it weren’t deserved. The staff, overall, is incredibly friendly (as is Dr. Scurlock.) I would say the one thing I can say about Dr. Scurlock is he is thorough. I’ve never had a doctor actually dig deep to see what’s going on. It’s definitely not just a «get in so I can get your copay» place. Very comforting. He actually cares about you… At least that is the overall feeling.

I began seeing Dr. Scurlock in 2003. He is very easy to talk to. He is very thorough and observant. Long story short, you will love him!

I have been seeing Dr. Scurlock for three years and I just love him. Everything you want in a physician… knowledgable about (it seems) everything medical, kind, and personable. He spends time with you, listens, and/​but will give you appropriate feedback if you’re on the wrong track. He’s one of those people who can get across the message that you’re not perfect, without making you feel lectured. He’s honest without being negative. Great doctor.
The office staff is also great, and they usually run on schedule and don’t make you wait. If do have to wait, though, you can rest assured you’ll get as much of his time as is needed, just as he must have done with the previous patient which put him a little behind. Only had to wait once, and he walked in apologizing. Good guy. I’ll see him as long as I live in Atlanta.

I found Dr. Scurlock in early 2011 and have seen him now 3 times – two regular physicals and one unexpected illness.
Every time I’ve gone to see him he’s been attentive and informative. My first visit was pretty status quo but when I was sick and this last time (I had some concerns) he was very attentive. He checked me out and asked me many questions throughout the duration of both visits. To me, that indicated that the concerns I presented were being thought about.
He was able to pinpoint the location of an issue I was having by doing some simple mobility tests. That’s not something I’ve experienced with most doctors.
He isn’t fast and loose with his prescription pad like many. For my minor issues he’s made great suggestions for possible non medicinal cures (yoga, for example) and instructed me to get back in touch if they don’t work. I’m a healthy, active person and I don’t like to take medication unless it’s necessary so this has been a big deal to me.
Also, I’ve never waited more than 5 minutes to see him. Even that’s a stretch. It’s wonderful to see a doctor and your appointment time is when you see him.
Lastly, this isn’t a him thing but his location does not require paid parking. I HATE having to pay an additional $ 2 – 5 when I have dr. appointments.

I went to see him accidently, I needed a refill of my asthma medication near my work, he gave me a check up and told me that he has a good news and a bad news, good news is that you don’t have asthma, bad news is that you have issues with your heart and did an EKG, and sent me to an outstanding Cardiologist, previously another doctor has diagnosed me with asthma. When I went in for an issue with blank outs, he sent me to a great Neurologist (happens to be good friends with the Cardiologist), he has great connections, and he is good at what he does, if I didn’t see him and listened to the other doctor, I would have been dead in less than 6 months from now.

I’ve been going to Dr. Scurlock for 12 years. Great doctor.

I’m not the type to get a regular physical or visit for an annual check up — so I can’t really speak to his preventative care. When I’ve been there for illness or pain he has been very thorough and attentive. His appointment times actually mean you will be seen at that time or very close to it — nothing is worse than having to sit in a waiting room with a bunch of sick people for an hour!
He seems very knowledgeable (I would hope so!) and attentive and has personally called me to follow up after visits.
