I really love East Andrews. The Czar Bar and Cellar 54 are both great places. I recently had a bad experience at the Improv, but I’ve been there a few times before without incident. I would definitely recommend it.

I have NEVER been so utterly HUMILIATED like I have when visiting the East Anderews establishment. The first time I went with a group of friends, it was Spring of last year. After a few drinks I went to use the Women’s restroom to relieve myself. I was promptly followed INSIDE by one of the male security guards. He told me I «couldn’t use this bathroom; it’s for girls only». I was so appalled that I stood for several moments trying to say anything. I am women. A 20-something, beautiful, tall, slender, perfectly framed, althletic, ex-model, 100% Female. The women at the mirrors thankfully yelled at him for me. He continued to stare at me even after the other girls told him I was a female and to get out. It was embarrassing. I guess females can’t have short hair in a venue that supposedly hosts a 1920s speakeasy in which women were notorious for their short hair. I went back, unfortunately, last night. The service was TERRIBLE. We went to Stillhouse first for some food. The manager had us wait by the door next to an empty table he «wasn’t sure if they were coming back» After several uncomfortable minutes, he said we could sit. That was fine. The rest of our party arrived and drinks ordered. One drink was returned. It took 45 minutes for the replacement. It took 2HOURS for the food. Food was spectacular. Reasonable prices. Prohibition was the biggest let-down. We never got a chance to use the code in the booth. Which is supposed to be what makes it a speakeasy. Anybody and everybody just stood in a line and gave a name/number. The wait was 45 minutes. That was fine. It was a 2 ½ hour wait when we left, sheesh. However, we were apparently shooed in early or something. There was no seating. We stood in the cramped bar space with the staff being tremendously rude or they hated their jobs, can’t be sure. The décor was minimal at best. The service was bad. Just… bad The«rules» they had, the bartenders themselves were breaking. They were obnoxious and swearing loudly about very indecent things. The tables were a mess. I would not recommend this place to anybody in the LGBTQ community unless you want to be discriminated against. Or if you’re a woman with short hair. If you’re older and wanting to enjoy a cigar bar, go somewhere else.

Went here with a friend from Atlanta to grab a couple beers. I liked the Scottish vibe of the indoor bar area. Decent beer selection but whiskey and scotches are the main draw. They really should serve a couple beers on tap, though. Service was very prompt and friendly — the bartender recommended a couple good beers and cocktails.

Just moved here from Orlando a few months ago and me and some friends went out last night to East Andrews. Josh was our bartender and he made the night fun as hell. He really took care of us: made great drinks, joked around, and did cool bar tricks(girls love bar tricks). I HIGHLY recommend East Andrews. I can say that because of my experience there and Josh showing us a good time, I will be back in the near future and recommend to all.

After leaving the Ice bar upstairs, I was sent down to East Andrews for a ‘younger crowd’ the spot is legit and I Loved the patio area outside! The bartenders were attractive and friendly, I had more fun watching them flip bottles and goof around than anything else. I had a crush on Stockton from the beginning he was super attentive and his personality was infectious. He made me something purple that tasted like pineapple and shock tarts! I had 3. The british guy Striker was also nice and they kept everyone in my group happy– even the guys And my boyfriend… My new weekend spot for the summer I can’t wait to be back!

Fun bartenders! Stryder and Stockton do plenty of tricks and joke around. Makes your good time even better. Never a dull moment. Even though it was a busy St. Patty’s Day event, they were very attentive.

We came here to grab a drink because they validate your ticket for the valet parking. We enjoyed the scene. The only downfall is that you can still smoke in there. I dont mind smoke, or smokers, it’s just i dont like coming out of a bar smelling like smoke if i dont have to.

I go here only because it is a University of Florida college football viewing location. Pros: good food with large portions and average prices. very friendly staff bud light buckets for $ 15 free parking during day time hours Cons: no draft beer, only bottles they need more TVs… they offer a big screen in one area with folding tables and chairs. In the main dining area there are only five 40 something inch TVs. if you don’t sit at the bar, service is VERY slow because they are busy during games and wait staff is limited.

The people of East Andrews is what I imagine what happens when the Greek system at state colleges poops out a la lets people matriculate. Or when young budding Buckhead wanna be socialites finds their older sister’s ID. Its an awkward collection of bars and taverns, with a courtyard in the center. I think the courtyard is very cute during the day time, but at night its really awkward because its the center of the complex but not dance friendly, somewhat anti climactic. I’ve seen a few people awkwardly try to dance here unsuccessfully. I’ve been on a few weekends, there usually has been no cover. Normally we park on the street for free. The only thing I feel is worth going to here is Prohibition, and not too often at that because of their $ 13 cocktails. Actually, Ice bar upstairs, which is owned by the same people as Prohibition was pretty cute and nicely decorated. Also, apparently there used to be a cougar bar here that is now not open any more. My friend insisted we walk around the complex to try to find it for amusement sake T. T I was also unwittingly accompanying my friend to celebrate an achievement in his life and in a tavern upstairs, and apparently some college football team had won that day and it was roudy as hell. Not bad except for constantly being slapped by colorful pom poms and stuff. Our other companions fit in so well we couldn’t find them, as they were dressed in the ‘uniform’ — collared shirt/button up + khakis + sperry like shoes. In one of the taverns downstairs, there was a guy playing songs with his guitar. He actually had a great sense of humor and played a few hilarious covers for us, I think he thought we were trolling him, but he was certainly a gem in this night. Sound system inside is crap, with remixes of remixes of top 40s dance hits. 1 star for the atmosphere, plus another star for Prohibition being here.

Came to East Andrews because my friends wanted to celebrate Cinqo de Mayo. It was my first time coming here, and I think we could’ve found some place waaaaaay better. Lol, I’m still not even sure what the hell it is? A complex with a bunch of different bars? There was also a big fountain in the middle of the place, which some drunk girls thought to be a good idea to dance on?(I totally wasn’t secretly hoping anyone fell in!!) There was one particular creep that kept watching me, he even bought drinks for my friends and I, but other than that he never spoke. He just watched from the distance, urgggh… I especially didn’t like that they replayed songs, what’s up with that? All the music in the world and you’re playing songs two, three times over? C’mon Mr. DJ! I’m not going to lie though, I still had fun… but it was probably because I had a lot to drink.

East Andrews is a small collection of bars/clubs/lounges in Buckhead. The venue is very popular and has hosted many events and musical performances. Several celebrities have been spotted here over the years as well. The complex is unique because it has an intimate group of venues. The central Southern-themed courtyard with fountain opens up to the night sky above. The complex consists of: Cellar 56 — wine bar Prohibition — 1920s-themed lounge East Andrews — the main bar Stout — Irish pub located upstairs 8Traxx — concert stage and dance floor at Andrews Upstairs Sal’s Pizza — pizza joint located upstairs I’ve visited East Andrews on various occasions with friends and also attended the 2011 Atlanta Food Rave here. The Food Rave was a disaster and you can read about it in my review here: Of the above venues, I’ve only spent time in the main bar of East Andrews and ordered food from Sal’s Pizza, though I did get to explore almost the entire complex at the Food Rave. On regular weekend nights, the bar is packed with patrons. The music selection is fine. Generic, if anything. At times, the atmosphere can be douchey and pretentious, which is the main reason I’m only giving this place two stars. I’m not complaining about the eye candy, though. Prohibition is a couple years old now. To enter Prohibition, you have to go inside a red phone booth(modeled after old London phone booths) and dial a «secret» number. Parking next to the complex is $ 10 per car, Friday and Saturday nights. All other nights are free. You can also try parking for free along nearby neighborhood side streets, which is what my friends and I have done before.

I think the drinks here were more expensive than L.A. I also think we are the old people in this bar. A handful of years after college(okay a BIG handful) and I am looking for a crowd that is… well…less drunk than you are! On a positive note, there is a pizza counter inside the bar.

This is a tardy review for the Unilocal mixer that happened a month or so ago. It was great because, well, it was free and it had people I have grown accustomed to seeing… and liking. The bartender was a nice guy who convinced me to suck down a shot of tequila(which I liked); thanks Kathleen for the free drink! The venue is just… huge. It’s a megalopolis, Epcot-esque warren of venues. I guess that’s a needed thing around that part of Buckhead, but you lose some of the charm. I keep expecting to see Goofy or Mickey walking around a corner coming off of break smoking a cig.

This place is so perfectly average that I don’t even know how to begin writing this review. There are absolutely zero qualities that this place has that would make me even consider coming back here. I wouldn’t really say there is anything outstandingly wrong with the place, it’s just so… average. I guess this place basically just exists to catch people who are already in the area. It’s a trap.

First off, let me say that I’m not a Buckhead girl. A friend suggested we go here to go dancing, and, being bored with the same-old same-old, I said yes. Secondly, this place is reminiscent of a third-world country in a number of respects. First, the whole place is a «complex,» once you’re inside, you can’t help but visualize armed guards around the perimeter keeping the starving riffraff out. The most tolerable area in the complex was the Disco for Old People, which my friend immediately described as «being like a discothèque in Dakar, Senegal.» While I enjoyed dancing with the middle-aged folks for a while, the bar was a bit grating. Domestic beers are $ 4.00, imports $ 5.00. I ordered a Sweetwater 420 and was charged $ 5.00. When I argued that the beer was made *in this city*, the pricing was not adjusted. My friend and I wound up going to MJQ, where a much better time was to be had. Should you get a sufficient pre-game going on, this would be a great place for a Hunter S. Thompson-style pseudoanthropological experience. Also, you can park in the shopping center a couple of blocks down the street for free.

It says a lot when a place is low-rated on several reviews, and unfortunately, I’m not here to make it all better. I went to East Andrews on Saturday night, and the one upside to my experience at East Andrews was the bartender at Cellar 56 who made my drinks. He was friendly, fast, and my drinks had the right amount of alcohol — but it still wasn’t enough to make the good times roll. I’m pretty sure I would have had to be wasted for that to happen. Let’s start with the music. I don’t know who that live DJ was but I’m hoping he worked for free. If not, he should be ashamed of himself. I think he played about SIX songs from the years 2000 – 2010. I know music hasn’t been awesome these last few years, but seriously sir? I can’t remember any of the several lame songs he played but the 40-yr-olds in the crowd(and there were many) knew all the words. I agree with another reviewer about the 20-yr-old girls in the short skirts; they were seriously sexed-out. But the guys stuck to khaki shorts and flip flops. It says alot about the state of society now that women try so hard and men don’t try at all. Although there are tons of people, I don’t think this would be a good hook up spot. There were a lot of mixed men and women groups that stuck together. There wasn’t a lot of cross-mixing between the groups, and the men who came together didn’t make any moves(that I saw) on the women who came together. It was really weird. For a place with all those young people, there was a lack of sexual energy. I think I’d feel more nookie-in-the-making at Johnny’s Hideaway. But maybe I wasn’t feeling the sex vibe because I’m straight and there was a lot of liquor-induced lesbianism going on. I don’t know what it is about some girls that after a few drinks their BFF looks sexy and they should grind on them. I think this place would be better utilized as a happy hour spot. If I’m ever in the area around that time, I’ll give it a try. But Saturday nights are no-go for me.

A long time ago I was a biology undergrad and we discussed the lekking behavior of Prairie chickens and other birds. This is when all the chickens come in to the lekking area and the males spar or show off individual visual displays be it dancing, vocal, or plumage displays in order to get the ladies attention. At East Andrews, the center atrium with the fountain is the lek and the ladies are putting on the show for the men, though the guys preen as well. The girls here let it all show and the boys who come here eat it up. I felt a bit like an old 28 yo hag when I walked in here with jeans and a cute top. No way in fuck I could compete with 22 yo tanned, slutty clothes wearing women. Perhaps I don’t like this place because I have never been the type to wear dresses that fall shortly below my cootch, but I gotta give this place a big fat 2 thumbs down; I am still trying to regain my positive body image. **Hope you enjoyed the biology lesson– that one’s free.**

East Andrews Café is an awesome place to meet hot 20something Atlanta women on the weekend. That’s pretty much it. There really is no other reason to go there. The waitstaff is friendly, especially if you tip well, are nice, and they know you. Unfortunately, there are so many d-bag guys and pretentiously drunk girls pissed the bartenders off, it makes for a weird atmosphere. However, the drinks are strong, which makes the afforementioned hot 20something Atlanta women that much more entertaining. Hang out at the bar or on the patio — the live band is serviciable but not much better than that. I’ve not been there during the day, but I hear good things about the menu.
