This place has been bought out and is no longer in existence unfortunately… same location but the food there no longer has its authentic flavor

I love this place. especially their $ 1 fish taco Wednesdays. Which is why I have been sad the last two Wednesdays that they have been closed. Does anyone know when they are to open again? The sign says closed for a week but I has definitely been longer than that.

If we want tasty, quick, and inexpensive Mexican fare, this is where we come. I live close enough that running over for sopes al pastor and the fish tacos is always an option. We usually get take out, for no other reason than it allows us to be a little lazy. ;) There really isn’t much of an atmosphere, with a large-screen TV usually showing soccer in Spanish, but this is a place setup for eating, not lingering. It is always clean and tidy. Some of the hot sauces are deceptively hot.

Here you can’t go wrong with the nachos, tacos or taquitos. They are always good. The location is a bit tucked away off the Main Street but once you find it you won’t forget it. The parking lot is a bit hectic at times so drive carefully. Definitely a good spot for a quick bite with authentic flavors.

I don’t think my review can do any justice to El Señor Taco over what other people have written. If you like authentic, not a fan of chains, then you should definitely check them out. I had the pork and beef tacos. The pork was my favorite. A friend had the torta and said it was really good. I will have to try it out. I measure tortas against the Taco Bus torta in Tampa Bay, FL which is by far the best I have had.

California Transplants… stop what you’re doing RIGHTNOW. If you’re legit(like the word«Cali» makes your skin crawl legit), you have been craving a California burrito or a REAL breakfast burrito since you moved out here. I have been on a disappointing, never-ending quest for one of those hole in the wall joints that calls to me after a long night of drinking. Now, its not on the menu, but if you ask, they will make it for you. Just describe what you want in it(for me– Carne asada, french fries, pico de gallo, cheese, guacamole, and eggs if you want it for breakfast ;)) and they’ll do it. And they’ll do it for less than $ 6. This place is the real deal. Their self-serve salsa bar has an AMAZING habanero hot sauce(almost as good as Cotixan in SD), hot carrots, and other Mexican fast food staples. And, its even got an «A» health standards rating… which is more than I can say for some of the other taco shops around here. I will never go anywhere else in Atlanta for Mexican food, and neither should you. Go now, and enjoy your little slice of SoCal heaven off Buford.

Came in with a friend who boasted about this place and their street tacos. This place has an amazing salsa bar! The tacos were just OK for me, but I am used to eating street tacos in Tijuana. I ordered two cabeza and two lengua. The meat tasted frozen and like cardboard to me. They did have a salsa that was out of this world. It was a picante aioli sauce. My man ordered the Carne Asada and they were decent but again not TJ. The service was great and the employees very friendly. I had a nice visit here and if did not live so close to Mexico I would probably feel that this place is close to home.

Ummm this place was straight up amazing. On par with probably the best mexican food I’ve ever had — yes it is that good. I had the chicken quesadilla and shrimp tacos. the Shrimp tacos were absolutely FANTASTIC. Yummy fried crispy shrimp on top of soft fresh tacos with fresh pico. Highly recommend it! Also something to note — $ 10 minimum credit card charge.

This covers three visits here. In short, an excellent place for tacos. Great variety of tacos and the staff is very friendly and helpful. The Seafood soup is great and a nice alternative if you want a break from tacos.

Pulling into this parking lot really made me think about some of my life choices. Like many BuHi locations, there can be some unsavory characters hanging around the parking lot of this distressed strip mall. But, external factors aside, once I walked through those tinted glass doors, I know I was in the right place. The staff is super friendly and willing to accommodate my(blasphemous) «no cilantro» request.(did I just discredit all of my reviews by stating that I don’t like cilantro?) The tacos are amazing. They are small, but filled to the brim with meat. The fish taco, as noted in other reviews, is legit, but my favorite out of the bunch was the pastor. It was moist, flavorful, and with the addition of some salsa was the highlight of the meal. This spot has been added to my BuHi rotation!

This has become our go to spot in Atlanta for fish tacos. Always hot and fresh, they never disappoint. I’ve really always been a fan of the classic fish tacos you see in California but hadn’t found anything here i’d be willing to risk eating. Now my prayers are answered! Can’t complain about the price either. Normal just two of their tacos fill me up for the day.

first time back in a while. Ordered a fish and a shrimp taco. They gave me two fish tacos. They were blazing hot(a good thing), the lettuce/tomato/crema presentation was excellent. But the fish wasn’t impressive, and one taco seemed to have almost no fish and just large chunks of fried batter. Not sure if this is a one-time thing, or if it represents a change in sourcing/quality. Wife and kids were happy with their sopas, etc. I’ll get back over here eventually, but considering that the fish taco is their specialty, these were not impressive.

I wish they sold shirts that said, «I came here for the fish tacos!» As you read this there’s no surprise as to what I ate. The fish tacos were well seasoned, flaky, and inexpensive. If you go on a Wednesday you can get them for a buck. They offer several specials during the week like menudos, sopes, taquitos, and much more. The salsa and toppings bar is an added plus. There are so many toppings to choose from. The only downside is that they didn’t have a lot of staff which makes the lunch wait longer than I like. If you eat in the restaurant you can enjoy Spanish Soap Operas and an array of music. I’m telling you, go for the fish tacos!

There are a few times that I would walk into a Mexican restaurant without the hand of a fellow Mexican friend or experienced foodie, but today… I did. The décor is your typical tacky colors and booths, but it’s to be expected at a place that offers value for your meal. The flat screen TVs hanging high behind the counter offered choices of shrimp burritos, soups, tacos, and even shrimp cocktails. As I pondered my order, the screen in the middle kept changing thus frustrating me. Yes, I know you have a Monday Special for the third time! I ordered up and was pleasantly surprised at the pricing. This particular restaurant also really adds everything to your burrito and tacos by default so specify if you are particular about your meal. As for the taste, amazing! It hit the spot and more. I wanted to order another burrito, but knew I couldn’t handle it. If only I was a cow with multiple stomachs. The only gripe was how much batter was added to the shrimp taco. There was barely any shrimp in it, but that wouldn’t deter me from coming back ordering another shrimp burrito. Good job, Señor!

I stumbled upon this place a few months ago when the boyfriend suggested we go to Lee’s Bakery for dinner. At that point in my life I was a little banh mi-ed out so when I saw that they had sopes(basically the same concept as a tostada, except the base is a thick tortilla) at the joint next door I asked if he minded switching it up… and the rest is history. I loved the sopes, they’re delicious — some of the best I’ve ever had and you have your choice of beef, chicken, or fish(like with the majority of their entrees). Since that first visit I’ve also tried their ‘shrimp cocktail’ — another dish I love. It’s so flavorful and it has a little bit of a ceviche vibe — the price for it is also one of the best you’ll get in town. Their ‘taquitos’ are crunchy on the outside and tender on the inside; they’re also served with a salad on top, a side of rice and beans, and a fountain drink all for $ 5 and some change. You can’t go wrong with the tostadas either. The one thing they do fall short on is the fish taco — it’s dry and underwhelming, considering how good everything else is. Overall, it’s great food at a great price. The staff is friendly and attentive, the restaurant is also kept very clean. Definitely not only of the best taquerias on Buford Hwy, but in the A.

For the money, this place had the best potato taco on the planet. Less than a dollar? You can’t beat it. It’s not just the price, though. The taco is delicious. Be sure you ask if you want soft tacos. Hard is the default. Vegetarian Note: Besides the potato taco, there aren’t really any other options.

Well I did not like their fish tacos much. Way too fried, like tempura but in a full-on fast food KFC way. Tacos hot, rice and beans not hot, tepid. It’s always good when a Mexcan place has an array of salsas and chopped onions and peppers, thumbs up for that. The person at the counter was sweet and courteous, and the horchata was good. I was astonished to find no iced tea, only soda, saw the horchata machines and asked for it instead. Oddly, she did not fill my cup all the way. But this is limited because I only tried the fish tacos. Maybe other things are way better.

El Señor Taco just lost a lost a star from me! One of their best employees, Lorena, is no longer there, and service has gradually gotten worse, week after week. I brought in a group of twelve, as i have for the last year, so I expected at least some appreciation for our patronage, and while not the final straw, today’s service definitely has left me with the figurative«bad taste in my mouth». I asked for a beer, but was told«I can’t sell it to you». Apparently the cashier did not have a liquor license, and told me «I don’t work here(true), I am just helping out(not true).» I asked if anyone in the restaurant could, and she said no. How about the owner? Nope, not here. Do you expect him? Not sure. Here is a cooler full of beer, a restaurant full of employees, and no one that can sell me one! To be honest, not having a beer sucked, but it was the attitude that most got my undies in a bundle. I witnessed two other tables returning food for mistakes made at the counter. The cashier really didn’t seem to care about the operation, and stood behind the counter drinking.(Probably a beer! jk!) «Cuando el gato va a sus devociones, bailan los ratones» «When the cat is away the mice will play» and in this case, with no owner in the store, and no ownership by the cashier, they lost a fan. I am sure I will still return, but not as often, and definitely not with a large group again. I really like the food here, but can no longer say I am a fan, nor do I feel great recommending it. I hope they turn it around. «Gato con guantes no caza ratones» Which means«A cat with mittens cannot hunt mice» sometimes you just have to get your hands dirty, and the owner should be here to serve his patrons if the hired help can’t(or won’t). Not sure why I have all these cat Spanish cat quotes today. Going to get that beer now!

The Seafood Soup is still delicious as ever — now $ 6.95 for a small bowl which is a generous«small» size. Soup is loaded with shrimp, veggies, but just a few calamari and fish. Looking at my previous review, I guess I missed out on the crab this time. I’d still order it again. Fish tacos seem to have improved from my first visit — they just introduced a «chipotle sour cream» sauce a couple weeks ago, and they said they improved the batter too. Although the taco is still small(it’s only $ 1.55 after all), it had a lot more accompaniments — more shredded cabbage and pico de gallo. I also like that their salsa bar is so clean, and the sliced limes are fresh — not dry & wrinkly like most places. And they have radish slices which seem random … I’d never seen radish slices in Mexican food before. Service is super friendly :)

El Señor Taco is a casual, inexpensive taco/Mexican fast food joint located in the same shopping center as Lee’s Bakery and Com Grill. It’s a small restaurant with 4 – 5 booths, small tables, a couple flat screen TVs, and a salsa bar. You order at the register off the brightly lit, colorful menus above. They serve a variety of tacos, burritos, sopes, tostadas, enchiladas, etc. They also serve some more unique items, which have become big hits on Unilocal and various blogs. These include the seafood soup and seafood cocktail. I came here with a couple friends and while I think we ordered too much food(over $ 30 worth, which is a lot here), we still finished all of it. We’re such pigs. We ordered: Potato taco Fish taco Spicy pork taco Beef sope Crab tostada 50⁄50 beef cheek and beef tongue burrito Seafood soup Seafood cocktail I’d say everything was pretty much a win except for the burrito. The burritos are around $ 5 each and are a pretty good size. Not as big as a Moe’s, Willy’s, or Chipotle burrito, but close. I wanted to try both the beef cheek and beef tongue, but did not want just a single one of those types of meat inside an entire burrito. When I told the employee this, he said I could do a 50⁄50 with each type of meat and he’d just charge me the regular price. Sweet. Unfortunately, the burrito wasn’t that great, but it may have had to do with the types of meats I selected. The burrito was soggy and I didn’t like the texture or consistency of the beef tongue as it was almost like eating rubber. The tacos were very good. I especially liked the crispy fish tacos with the tangy sauce they put on top. The tacos come on top of two soft-shelled circular tortillas. My favorite of all the items we tried was the beef sope. A sope is like an open-faced taco, except the base is hard and fried. It’s almost like eating a small personal pan pizza. The sope was quite delicious and I enjoyed the flavorful seasoning they applied to the ground beef. I wasn’t able to eat the crab tostada or the seafood soup or seafood cocktail because they contained shrimp and crab(things I’m allergic to). Our server told us he could make us a seafood soup without shrimp, so we ordered it. When the soup came out, there were jumbo shrimp floating about. Oops. The server came out later with another bowl and said there was no shrimp inside that bowl. It was the same soup with the shrimp removed after the fact. Later, as my friends finished the soup, they found some shrimp at the bottom. It’s not a big deal, but just thought I’d mention it. The employee was very nice and even brought us out some«Caribbean» peppers from the kitchen that were tossed in lemon and black pepper. They were sweet, tangy, and spicy. We also ordered some horchatas to drink, which were freshly dispensed from the drink machines. They were lighter than other horchatas I’ve tried, such as the ones served at Bone Garden and El Taco Veloz.
