Here’s a tip: if it’s not a scam they will let you come back anytime and sign up. First, the service isn’t worth it. More importantly, the sales tactics are outlandish and a part of their corporate culture. Just read reviews from SF and Chicago and you’ll see that nationwide they train their staff in high-pressure sales techniques that would only be necessary if their product was terrible(which it is). They won’t quote you over the phone, you have to go there in person(it’s over $ 2,000 for two years). Then they’ll try and tell you if you leave before signing up then you can’t have a good price(or won’t even let you sign up at all). My advice: leave. You’re not missing out.

My review got filtered, so whether E&A paid to get it gone from their site or otherwise, I feel compelled to re-post so that all of you out there are conned into turning over thousands of your dollars for a useless waste of your time and money… Here is my post: I moved to Atlanta almost a year ago. I came across E&A and thought it may be a good way to meet some people and make some friends in town. I should have known that E&A was a terrible idea when the sales rep wouldn’t discuss with me the cost of joining over the phone. She insisted that I take time from my work day to drive all the way up to North Atlanta before I could find out how much the service cost. Once I got to the office, the sales rep did a great job selling– in 45 minutes of cheerleading, she convinced me to fork over several thousands of dollars to have the«opportunity» for E&A to plan my activities. What a waste. If you are at all able to use google to look up the events in your town, you do not need this service. What makes it more frustrating, is that E&A will not refund any amount of your money, no matter how dissatisfied you are with their customer service, their offerings, or the other E&A members. When I called the customer service to discuss canceling my membership and getting a refund– she told me that it was not an option, that I didn’t give E&A enough of a chance, that I needed to give it more time because it was a «process» and required time to really see the membership benefits. Our conversation got heated– because I felt duped into paying several thousands of dollars for absolutely nothing(which I know is my own fault) — but the rep raised her voice and yelled at me over the phone. She told me that if I felt duped by the sales rep, law provided me 3 whole days to cancel the transaction. It was confusing– on one hand she was telling me that I should give E&A more time, more time, more time… on the other she was saying, «if you didn’t like the service, you had 3 days to cancel it.» I will never participate with this organization again. It is a waste of money– and a lot of it. The staff is unprofessional and has terrible customer service skills.

My friend told me about this place. I don’t like the fact you have to go all the way to Marietta to do interview and only then you get a pricing for membership. So they can’t tell me anything about pricing over the phone. Seems to me it will be a pricey thing that they don’t tell you up front what the cost is and only after you spend your time and energy to get there. I felt a strong marketing and sales pitch coming my way… I am opting out!
