You can find Famous Pub in the Toco Hills shopping center where it’s happily lived for as long as I’ve been in Atlanta. This is a class sports bar with pool tables and plenty of rooms to congregate into to root for your favorite teams. The people who work behind the bars and wait tables tend to be long lived so there are always a lot of familiar faces. I really like the feel of this place — it reminds me quite a bit of Manual’s Tavern in L5P and has a similar vibe, if a bit more sports-oriented. Belly up to the bar and order your favorite craft beer on tap and enjoy an appetizer or two — I’ve had the Hot Dogs and Burgers and those are more than palatable. It is a bar in the classic sense. The overflow extends to an enclosed porch that can get a bit hot in the summers but is just fine in the spring and fall. There’s also plenty of parking in the very large parking lot, though you may have to walk a bit. As always, tip your servers and bartender — they work hard and are on their feet all night.

I would leave zero stars if I could. Easily the most pathetic sad sack crew of waitresses I’ve ever seen at any dining establishment or bar.

I went to Famous Pub for dinner with a friend. We decided to go into the improv show and we each ordered dinner and a beer. Unfortunately, the bar tender, Joey, was extremely rude. She was very persistent about the fact that it was only her third day at this job however, she didn’t present herself as professional. She snatched the food that we had bought and hid it behind the bar after asking us «if we were done» and we responded, «no». After speaking with the manager about her behavior she still continued to approach our table and make threats towards us. Thankfully the manager is very professional and did her best to accommodate us and help. Overall, this particular bartender ruined my experience. I do not plan to come back to this restaurant/bar.

Famous pub is becoming a sneaky good craft beer bar without all the hipsters. I enjoyed a Goose island Sofie, Monday night brewing drafty kilt, and Blue point.

If you’re thinking of going to watch NFL games, don’t bother. As of the 2015 season, the entire back hall of the place(where 5 big screens and a dozen or two small screens are) has been rented out to a Cleveland Browns fan club that will not allow anyone else to enter. No exaggeration, we(a Steelers fan and a Saints fan) were actually kicked out of the place. This used to be a great venue to watch sports. Enough big screens to have most of Sunday’s action on, small screens to catch the minor games and give more viewing angles. No longer, as every screen is now the Browns and only those in burnt orange can enter…

We went there to just chill with friends the first time and then to watch a game the second time! It’s a great place if you want to just sit talk, grab a drink! They have an outside patio for that because it can get a little loud inside by what sports bar doesn’t get loud. You walk in and you can sit wherever you’d like and then they have space in the back for pool and darts! I think it’s pretty good for watching games the way I like it! It’s a very chill, and free environment and they’re pretty nice about changing channels if you want to watch two games! The food isn’t bad either. Typical sports bar food for sure!

Club Famous? More like Club Lamest. Where do I start? This club is set in the back of the restaurant. It’s a tight navigation to get there between the crowded setup of tables and chairs. There was a $ 10 cover on a Friday night, but it seemed lively enough, so I thought it might be fun. Wrong. Service at the bar was poor. The drinks were even worse, tiny little cups filled with watered down cocktails. One of the bartenders had a terrible attitude. «$ 5.50 and that does NOT include the tip,» she said in a condescending tone. Yes, we know that, it’s the standard at all bars, you tip the bartender. Relax. The DJ and music were completely awful. It was Vampire Night, but you wouldn’t know it by the music. It started okay with Dubstep and techno, but then the music went into straight-up pop. Then, out of nowhere, an acoustic violinist came out. Hey, I wouldn’t mind a song or two for irony, but she played for at least 20 minutes straight and this was at like 1 a.m. The dance floor came to a grinding halt and people started leaving. Aside from the, there was virtually no transition from song to song. One has to wonder if their DJ had any experience whatsoever. The place allows smoking and there was some heavy smoking going on. A thick haze filled the entire room. By the end of the night, there were cigarette butts all over the floor, literally hundreds. A very underwhelming club experience, if you ask me. Nothing about the night was worth it at all. The Atlanta area is full of places to go out, just make sure you avoid Famous Pub/Club Famous.

Absolutely terrible service. My husband and I went in to watch football on Sunday afternoon. They were clearly understaffed both front and back of house. We sat at our table for the duration of a WHOLEENTIREFOOTBALLGAME without ever having a server stop and take a food or drink order. We kept going to the bar to get our drinks.(The prompt service of the bartender is the ONLY reason this place is getting two stars.) we flagged down a random server and asked if we could order food and she shrugged it off and said no.(I’m really not kidding…) So we went to the front bar and ordered. Took about 50 minutes to get boneless wings. Bar sales(and customer satisfaction & return rate) definitely would have been higher if the servers worked smarter and the bar was fully staffed…

This goes out to anyone wanting to watch Football — don’t! The TVs are«majority rules» so basically you just need to work the room before kickoff. The people working don’t know which games are on, or how to work the sound, the servers were so overwhelmed I wondered if they even knew that it was the season opener. I saw multiple tables walk out before the game started because they couldn’t figure out where they’d be able to watch their game — definition mess. We left at halftime during the 1pm game because it was just too distracting. Wont be back during football season, at least not when there are that many games for them to have to navigate.

Do not come here for NFL games on Sunday if you plan on getting even decently fast service. Got told in second quarter couldn’t order food due to kitchen being backed up by waitress. I’ll be going elsewhere moving forward.

I’m giving them 2 stars because the service was great and I really liked the waitresses. They were out of two appetizers we tried to order, the potato skins and Reuben rolls. We finally ordered the queso which was terrible… And the chips were really old. However, the pita chips we were charged extra for were fried and pretty tasty. We had fish and chips for dinner which was forgettable. Fries were soggy. Drinks were too expensive, watered down mess. Has a lot of potential but I wasn’t impressed at all

Try this place for the first time on the fourth. Your typical friendly neighborhood bar. Opens at 5pm on the July 4th. We had the Philly cheesesteak with bacon. It was quite good, it was loaded up with steak, big pieces of mushrooms, and onions. We also had the Irish fries and fried mac and cheese balls as appetizers. Both delicious and not healthy My friend had the bbq chicken sandwich and he devoured it without letting me take a bite. I’m guessing it was good. It has a good beer and liquor selection. Plenty of TVs for sports. Best part, dollar pool table and free darts.

I stopped by this place on a business trip to the Atlanta area. This place has very large tv screens for your favorite sports game. There are several smaller TV screens throughout the pub. There is good outdoor seating. The service is good. I had one of their burgers — mushroom, onions, and a side of sweet potato fries. I forget what it is called but it is the only mushroom burger on the menu. Cooked to perfection but could be more juicy. This is good food for a pub. The place is clean.

I’ve been here twice, and both times have been extremely underwhelming. I’ve been here for both drinks and food. The bar menu is fine, no better or worse than comparable bars in the area. The front half is chairs/tables/booths with TVs, and the back half is pool tables. It feels sketchy just walking in the front door. The food is terrible — do not go here for a meal. Everything I and my friends has had is either overly salty, overcooked, or completely bland. I especially do NOT recommend the wings — super dry and overcooked. This pub is in a big strip mall /shopping center, so there is plenty of free parking in the lot. Also note that this bar still allows smoking inside, so it always smells terrible.

I had not been here in years, but recently visited last weekend. It is exactly the same, almost. I did not know there was a «club» dance floor in the rear. They have themed nights. This particular night was 80’s Night. There were a handful of people dancing but most were at the bar getting sauced. There is a $ 5 cover to enter the club area. If you just want to visit the pub there is no cover. Various seating is throughout with the larger flat-screens in the front and the bar is to the left. Several pool tables sit in the middle of the pub. That is why I was there. Pool and wings. The wings are good, however, I ordered Lemon Pepper and got a spicy hot wing with a couple of black peppers on them. Just add ranch and its okay. The ranch is better than the blue cheese here by the way. The potato skins are pretty decent. They could be a little more crispy and include more bacon but they were not bad. My party of 5 arrived around 1130pm and it started getting crowded after midnight. I did notice a trend of several people, ladies in particular, wearing all black looking Gothic. Most of them were going to the club area though. Maybe there was some type of costume contest I am not sure. I enjoyed my games of pool, I was 1 – 3, but I was just warming up. I do need to practice more though. If you need a cool place to enjoy with friends over beer, wings, games while shooting pool this is a good spot. FYI: You can smoke in here. Smh. I need that to quickly be outlawed in GA.

Went to Famous Pub tonight with my fiancé. I ordered the cheese steak, which was pretty light on the steak. Not horrible, but not worth the money either. She ordered the grilled chicken quesadilla without noticing there was a two dollar up charge for the chicken. So it ended up being a $ 10 quesadilla that was about on par with Taco Bell. We saw a lot of reviews complaining about the service, but it was pretty standard while we were there. Again, not bad but not great. I’ve been to worse places, but there are so many better options in the area I would be reluctant to go back. I sort of expect to see this place on Bar Rescue one day. A lot of potential in a good location, but it just misses on the execution.

The last time I visited Famous Pub was 1998. Back then, my friends and I would dump whole rolls of quarters into the Gauntlet II arcade game(or the occasional pool table). Now, the place is changed in appearance, shedding it’s late 80’s dive-vibe for the appearance of a comfortable sports-bar. There are lots of screens around to watch whatever floats your boat. The pool tables remain. Gauntlet II is gone, but they have a South Park pinball machine, and that is an okay substitute. We visited during a lunchtime a day or two before NYE, and I was actually not disappointed to see the place so empty.(So my friends and I could raucously laugh to our hearts’ content.) Reagan took really good care of us. She pours a mean beer, and her recommendations were spot on. Our table shared some medium-hot wings as an appetizer. The burn was good, and it did not blow my head off.(Next time I’m pumping them up to nuclear, just to see what happens). The fish & chips are a clear crowd-pleaser. The burger also looks good, as does the«Chicken By The Bay» sandwich. I promise not to wait another sixteen years before I visit Famous again. Holler if you’re coming with.

I don’t like giving a one star review. And I rarely do it, but last night warranted one. I went to the Famous Pub to meet up with some Haunt Actors who were celebrating something special. They were at the bar and when my friend and I showed up, we asked about the menu… The waitress hemmed and hawed(Mind you it was about 8:30) she didn’t seem the least bit interested in serving us at all. The tender gave us sodas, so that was fine, But nope the waitress didn’t want to give –ANY– sort of service, Period. I’m sorry if we were inconviencing her for doing her job.
