I have never had an experience like this with a doctor. At every turn, I felt like she was trying to «up sell» me on unnecessary tests, visits and procedures. After asking a few (very few) cursory questions, she recommended that I undergo an ultrasound for fibroids (huh?), a blood test and some other hormonal test. It felt even less authentic in that at no point did I feel like she actually cared about me as a patient, or even as a person — terrible bedside manners. It felt like she was going through a checklist of things that she recommends for all patients to increase the money they’re spending with her, not a tailored list of next steps based on me as a person and patient.
The long and short of it is this is not holistic medicine, this is scare tactics and money grabbing at its finest. The kicker is the whole reason I went to see her was for birth control and she informed me that she only prescribes 6 months worth at a time because she likes to «see her patients and make sure they aren’t developing any lumps in their breasts/​etc.» Really? On the tail end of all the up selling, this hardly felt like the reason she wanted to see me every 6 months. I can’t say I would recommend this doctor to anyone.

Dr. Dawson is a phenomenal OB/​Gyn who specializes in all types of women’s issues. She no longer does the OB anymore but is more dedicated to the gyno issues, cancer prevention, chronic disease prevention and wholesome living both inside and out. Her holistic approach backed by conventional medicine is very very good.
Now nurse Leah, is Amazing too! She’s patient, gentle, kind, and sweet as ever. She has a beautiful smile that will always brighten your day.
Now the desk staff still need a little work. I was trying to check out and she was on the phone working with another patients insurance company at the same time. She missed scheduled my appt. And when I asked her to change it, she slammed down the phone in disgust. I understand wanting to multi task, but it is rude to be in the phone when talking with a patient. Either hang up or go take the call in the back and let someone less busy deal with the patient.
Dr. Dawson and Leah are so good I guess I will just have to bypass the desk because I’ll be back!

Hands down the best OB/​GYN in Atlanta! Dr. Dawson and her staff are kind, caring, and highly knowledgeable. They walked my husband and I through our first pregnancy and always took as much time as we needed to answer every single question we had without ever rushing us. If I ever ended up waiting to see the doctor or one of the nurses, I was always given an explanation. Whatever issues came up during my pregnancy, like being unable to sleep, general discomfort, etc., Dr. Dawson took a holistic approach and made great suggestions that worked. I wish every doctor’s office was like this one!
