About Game-X(on their website): «High tech and high fun make Game-X the family or corporate outing of the future — today. Dine, drink and play on two levels overlooking Centennial Olympic Park. Whether it’s a corporate team building affair, a date night, or a „girls“ or „boys“ night out, Game-X is the one-stop place to forge fun in the heart of Downtown Atlanta’s Luckie Marietta District.» I took my ex here on date night. They have over 60 games for you to play. Some are competition based and some are skills based. I am a big fan of skeeball. Always have been. You purchase a game card and load up value to play the games. The card also stores your«tickets» that you can redeem for prizes. There are two bars in the establishment. You can also order food. The place is pretty fun, but much smaller than other gaming venues. But you can only do so much within the city. Parking is conveniently located in the deck attached to the building and the Hilton Garden Inn. Entrances are located at 285 Baker Street(Hotel entrance), 311 Marietta Street, or Latimer Street. They offer 3 hour validated self parking with a $ 10 minimum purchase for weekday lunch and a $ 20 minimum purchase for nights and weekends. Validations are not offered on game days or for group events.

Came here for a networking event after a work training in Atlanta. Game-X is very similar to Dave & Busters. Catering included chips & guac for dinner followed by cookies, brownies, mini cheesecakes, tarts and other small pastries. It was an open-bar event for us, so drinks and beverages were also provided. There were the typical arcade games like skeeball, 4-player air hockey, and claw machines. My friends and I were oddly amused by this 4-player fishing game between the claw machines and air hockey table. Don’t know why it was so fun because you literally just push a button and move a lever L-R to control the fishing rod. Nothing difficult but definitely amusing, especially when you can’t step away because you telling yourself you’ll beat your own score. I walked away with 30 raffle tickets and a pink floppy-eared puppy stuffed animal that I won from the claw machine that day.(Did I mention this was a work event?) Overall, good place for a networking event — very casual place for people to eat, relax, and chat. Would recommend coming here even if just to check it out.

This place is similar to Dave & Buster’s but worse. The space is pretty small and the games are incredibly limited. I came here for a company event, and I didn’t even use up my game card because there really wasn’t much to play here. The food was also pretty subpar and the seating somewhat limited and awkward. I doubt I would voluntarily come here again.

Don’t let the bar fool you; I don’t think that this place is ideal for adults. I went with a friend just to check it out and it was kind of a dead zone, even for a Friday night. And they close at 11PM as well. Nothing was too impressive about the place, even the fact that they had a beer pong table. The pool table isn’t even set a standard. They should have a set time when kids should no longer be allowed to be there… That’s just good parenting. I’m not quite sure who this arcade is supposed to cater to. If I had to guess it would be high school kids. Most likely I will not be returning.

We just took our family there and it was wonderful! We always go to chuck e cheese but this was way better and I love how you load money on your game card and it keeps track of your tickets on the card. The games are really good for kids and adults and they give alot of tickets for your tokens! The prize selection was great and you don’t have to have a million tickets to get a good prize like chuck e cheese. We will return here!

I found out that Game-X existed many months ago. However, just recently I finally visited and had a great time. As other reviewers have said this place is a mini dave and busters. Game-X does not have a wide variety of games, but the games they do have are great! This place is good for kids and of course date nights as well. A great place to catch a ball game in a great atmosphere with good food. Nice selection of beer and drinks. They serve wings, burgers and a few other items. The best thing about this place is at the end when you get too cash in your tickets and get a prize! Well that’s my favorite part at least. They do validate your ticket for the first two hours! So free parking!

Thank you to the GA aquarium for giving my son a coupon for a free entrée and $ 10 game card. If it weren’t for that, I may have not known about this place. My 5 year old son and I came here yesterday evening. We walked in and sat down in the dining area. Our waitress Connie was very attentive without being overbearing. Jace ordered chicken fingers and broccoli. I must say, that it some of the best broccoli I’ve had! We then were off to play games. This place is quaint. Its a mini D&B, perfect for the area it’s in. It has a bar, lounge area and restaurant section. Flat screen tvs showing sports and great drink specials. I would say it is geared more towards adults but my son and I enjoyed ourselves. A very nice couple even gave my son their game cards with 560 tickets on them! Whoop whoop. That made his night. I may not bring my son back but I will visit again.

This is a good place to Kirk back, good atmosphere. I brought my son on my trip to Atlanta and he is having a good time. The staff is really friendly and helpful. It looks as though this place is able to host a large event or party. Glad it’s centrally located in the downtown area. Prices aren’t too bad either.

We decided to finally try Game-X. Not sure why it took us so long since we are advocates for anything within the city limits. I enjoyed it. We ate then played games. It is like a smaller Dave & Busters. I am surprised they close at midnight on Friday and Saturday nights. Which cut our night of fun short. This will make me second guess visiting in the evenings.

This is an upscale and miniature Dave & Buster’s that shares space with Hilton and Legal Seafoods. Our group went at 2pm on a Thursday and some space reserved upstairs. Light food was provided and there was an open beer/wine bar as well. We also got $ 20 game cards to use at our event. There was a never ending buffet of sliders, nachos with salsa and guac, chicken fingers, fried brownie bites and fresh cookies. All the food was decent, but the one thing that stood out was the fried brownie bites. YES. I’ll take that sugar-induced-cholesterol coma any day! The games, however, are exactly like all other game’n’play places. You have your standard racing games with cars, motorcycles and water sports. Then you have your shooting games. Then you have skee ball and the free-throw basketball games. And then the rest are tickets games like Fruit Ninja and plinko. I wasn’t much impressed with the game selection. However, they did have an arcade version of beer pong, which was interesting but much too complicated to enjoy the game. And, of course, the game isn’t the same when you can’t remove cups and drink the beer inside! Overall, I had a great time but felt no desire to stay long. It’s a great place to play a few games though and get a good bite to eat.

It’s amazing to see this type of fun in a tourist heavy location. It’s the only one of its kind within miles with the exception of Joystick Gaming Bar. I was a bit surprised at its prime location, though disappointed in its offerings. The employees are friendly and the place is quite clean. Some unique games are available for play with the purchase of a reusable card with credits. The selection was limited, though there were some high quality arcade machines. Pool table is located in the back, but with limited space to really enjoy it. I could see this being fun for the kids, but I feel that adults may opt out for something more mature. I see quality and I see some good execution, but it’s still lacking what I would consider a good revisit.

Brought my 13 yr old nephew thinking that Game-X would be a little too mature for him but it was just the opposite, we were really just bored. The food and drinks were average fare, a little overprices and limited. Service wasn’t awful but the game play just seemed mediocre at best. I wasn’t expecting Dave and Buster’s or anything but I just didn’t have fun and at the end we were just using up our tokens to leave.

This was a perfect date night supplement for me and my husband. We had dinner at another spot and came through Game-X for a nightcap and a bit of fun. Since it seems to cater more to the daytime, sightseeing tourist crowd, it was wide open for Friday night fun, not crowded at all. There was no waiting to get to any of the games. I have seen some of the reviewers complain about the quality of the games and make comparisons to other arcade/restaurant venues. However, Game-X is in a class all its own. It’s not meant to be those other places. What I didn’t see but would like to have seen were desserts on the menu.(Just thinking that maybe the dessert menu was separate and should have asked.) However, I did have a fairly decent Mexican Roll(Don’t expect fine dining. It is a game room.) However, our drinks were fabulous and our bartender very friendly and engaging. All said, I think this is a intown, post movies/dinner spot for any couples date night. You can unwind, have some drinks and totally blow your husband away on the old-school hockey game. Six to one. I shut him DOWN!!!(lol)

It is a city slicker’s Dave and Buster’s for sure. It can add up to play the arcade games but it’s worth the fun if you’re on a date or out with some friends. The bartenders were slow as possible but the drinks were good once they were finally made. Pretty bartenders with a nice smile and boobs cover a multitude of sins for some. There are some cute, take– u –back –to –childhood, prizes as well. The food was mediocre but at least they show sports while you chew. There are 2 levels and a VIP room too. I went with a meet-up group and so we sorta took over with our overeager loud mouths. It’s hard to gauge what amount of people normally frequent on a Fri. because there were 150 of us. If you’re in the area it’s worth a shot. Literally, go get your hoops on.

I stopped by Game-X after visiting the Aquarium and World of Coca-Cola, as probably many other people do. It’s on the way back to the parking deck anyway, and not a bad place to relax for a bit after wading through swarms of children all day. The prices are considerably more expensive than I would have expected, but I haven’t really been to an arcade since the late 90’s when they were still a big thing. You purchase a game card which you can load money onto, and then swipe the card to purchase plays on the game systems. You earn tickets depending on how well you do, which are stored on your play card. At the end of the night, you can use those tickets to purchase things from their shop. The games seem pretty outdated to me, almost like they mostly found the same machines I was playing back in the late 90’s and marked up the prices. The shooters run about $ 1 per play, and seem frustratingly designed to take your money. I played one of the«rails» shooters with another player and all of the damage we took seemed impossible to avoid. I suppose this is their way of making sure that machine generates X dollars per hours, but they didn’t seem terribly busy anyway. I would’ve enjoyed playing it if I felt like my skill actually mattered at all. Half the fun is in seeing how far your skill can take you on your dollar. Either way, I ended up just playing the physical games like Skee-Ball and air hockey instead of the video games. At least you actually benefit from the physical equipment with those games, instead of playing a 20 year outdated video games with a mounted gun. Overall, I could go either way with this place. It’s cool that the old fashioned arcade is still alive in some context, and definitely cool that they serve food and alcohol. However, it would be a lot better if they could get some newer games and adjust the pricing model a bit. You should also be able to return your game card for a refund of the base price.

Game X is a lot of fun. Great drinks and nice variety of games to choose from. Would recommend the Dirty Bird drink. Its not on the menu but its definitely a good choice. Wait staff was friendly and overall nice spot to spend a Saturday night.

I really enjoyed my self last night at this place. My coworker recommended this place because she saw a Scoutmob experience deal. For $ 10 you get a libation from the bar(up to $ 10) a $ 10 game card and up to 3 hours free parking validation(with an additional purchase). I came in and it did put me in the mindset of a smaller Dave and Busters. I can’t really front. I don’t mind D&B and there’s none in the city that I know of so this was a great alternative. We asked the bartender what was good on the menu and he said everything. We looked at him suspiciously and he swore that pretty much everything on the menu is delicious. We grabbed a table and our awesome waiter Eddie echoed the same thing when we asked him. He let us know the food is really good. All I ate was dessert because I already had food at Cheesecake Factory but my friends had the egg rolls and the chicken finger baskets. Based on their reactions and comments, the food really is good here. I snuck a couple fries and they were delicious. My drinks were good and they had some tasty $ 5 drink specials. The games were cool. I thoroughly enjoyed the PAC man air hockey game. That was tons of fun and it’s for 2 to 4 people. I also had fun with the huge Connect Four game. I would definitely come back here. I wish they were open later. They close at 11 on Friday nights but I think once they get more business that will change. We’ll be back for sure.

Game X is similar to a Dave N Busters. They have a bunch of arcade games where you can win tickets to purchase prizes. Most of the games are focused on basketball, air hockey, football and other activity based games. They are severely lacking in fighting games like Street Fighter and Tekken. Food is decent. I would recommend Game X as a place to visit if you want to kill time after the visiting the Georgia Aquarium and World of Coke.

Its a great in city option! Don’t let the negative reviews deter you. If there was a large Dave and Busters within the city in such a prime downtown location where in Atlanta would we park and could you imagine the crowd. Game X is the way to go foe city dwellers. Its the compact greatness of a barcade that has all the bells and whistle of a D&B. Its hard to not compare the two even though they are actually different. The waitstaff, management, games, food and detailed concepts such as their menus are all great!

This place reminds me of a mini-Dave and Busters. If you work in the city, it’s a neat spot for a Friday happy hour /hash-it-out-in-games-with-your-coworkers. There was plenty of staff eager to be at your service. Aside from the traditional favorites of skee ball and basketball, there’s a bunch of larger-than-life games. My favorites are the four-player Pac Man Air Hockey, the HUGE Connect Four, and Speed of Light. Since they are newly opened, everything is spotlessly clean as well! Definitely worth a visit to have some fun and be a kid again!
