I’ve lived in Georgetown of Atlanta for approximately three years now, and I have genuinely enjoyed it. Having seen the inside of a few different condos, I can say that while it is an aging community(the infrastructure, not the people), many of the units have been updated with nice interiors and upgraded appliances. One of the biggest selling points for me was the amount of green area. To be located adjacent to Hwy 85, it is relatively quiet due to the amount of trees on the property. Moreover, there are some pretty amazing gardeners in the neighborhood that take it upon themselves to beautify the flowerbeds in front of their condos. For those of us born without a green thumb, the grounds-keepers do an excellent job with the rest of the neighborhood. Speaking of grounds-keepers, I have never met a friendlier bunch. There are times when I am carrying the my trash to the community trash compactor(another selling point, it’s included in the home-owners fees, as well as water– for us renters that’s awesome) and they see me and pick up my trash for me. It’s pretty sweet. They always stop and chat with me about how I’m doing also. Alright, my general review of Georgetown and the majority of this review talk up the apartments, but now I have to mention a few cons. While many of those living in Georgetown are homeowners and keep the area pretty clean and well kept, there are renters that are not quite so nice or clean(other than myself of course ;). Some dog-owners don’t clean up after their pets. The water is sometimes shut-off unexpectedly. The pool is a little old, which is a double edge sword. I love the fact that it is a lot deeper than what you’ll find a modern apartment complexes and condos, but the pump is pretty out-dated and breaks down on occasion. All in all, I have been very happy with my stay in Georgetown of Atlanta.
