Horrible experience! We went at lunch I time. Took 25 for me to get my salad. 25 minutes for A SALAD!!!. Waited another 20 minutes for pizza. Just ridiculous. Won’t be back.

Not sure why this place has bad ratings. The owner is from NY, and everything, my party of three, ate was 5 star. I had a strombi, my son the pizza, and my wife veal. All were good. Service was fine, people friendly, we were in a rush to make a show, and ate in a normal time. This is as good as my favorite pizza place in Lawrenceville, will be going back. My son lives close but is moving soon. Wish I found this place earlier.

Service was good. Pleasant waitress. Establishment itself is quite dirty. Fingerprints all over the windows. Tables messy. I ordered the Pepperoni Roll. Quite tasty and cooked perfectly. One thing that I didn’t like is that not a single person was there when I went and I was specifically told where I had to sit and that I could not sit at the bar. Other then that, really good food. Dont like the cost too much, though.

I haven’t had a bad experience here yet. I’ve been 3 times in the last two weeks. So far I have had wings, baked ziti, and cheese pizza. Everything was delicious. I will say I’m not a fan of the garlic knots but that is just my personal preference. I don’t like a lot of garlic on anything. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for a great and quick bite to eat!

My Hunni and I was out late and came out this way specifically for this pizza spot(pizza @2am is a recipe for heartburns) it had been a while seen he last visited this spot so he didn’t remember how the pizza was. When we first arrived, we had a problem with finding a parking spot, good someone was pulling out after a while. Even though the place was crowded, we were seated right away. I ordered 2 pizza slices, Italian sausage and pepperoni and he order cheese and a slice of the Sicilian pizza with green peppers and sausage, it looked yummy, but I didn’t ask for any. Gino’s is nothing to really right home to your mom about, typical pizza spot. I think more than anything else, I love the fact that they stay open till 6am… they have good beer and great prices.

The pizza is ok. The owner is rude and aggressive when there is a simple misunderstanding. You can gain clarity politely.

After living about a mile and a half from this place and driving by it every day on the way to work, we decided we needed to try it. We were put off by many of the negative reviews, but felt that we needed to give it a chance, after all, most of the negativity stemmed from the waitstaff, not the food. We walk in and were told to sit anywhere. For a Friday night, it was not that crowded. We walked in and sat down. The waiter came over to us immediately and asked for our drink order. We were planning to order a pitcher of beer to split, but they only had a few pitchers available(Michelob, Sweetwater 420, and a few others that did not interest us). The waitress appeared to be waiting for us to decide right then, so we each picked a beer and she went to get it. She came back quickly with the beers and asked us if we knew what we wanted. We had less than 3 minutes since we had sat down, so I asked for another minute… clearly we were getting the opposite service as other Unilocalers have had. We ended up ordering a small greek salad, garlic knots, and a white pizza. Greek salad was delish. It had lots of toppings, good dressing, and seemed to be fresh. The garlic knots came out in a plate much larger than I had expected. They were super garlicy and were actually tied in knots. I love garlic, so I was a happy camper. No vampires were going to be messing with us that night! One thing to note is that they had a lot of oil on them though. We had not yet finished the salad when our pizza came out, i.e. very quick service. The waitress put the pizza on a stand over our salad… which was bizarre as we were still eating it… oh well. The pizza was HUGE. We had ordered a medium, but after the salad and knots, we were only able to eat a piece each. I guess I didn’t read the description of the white pizza before the husband ordered it, as I am not the biggest fan of ricotta cheese. He loved the pizza saying he wanted to come back again the next weekend. The pizza was good, however if you are not a really big cheese lover, try something else. I will definitely come back but next time, I will probably go with something more classic, pepperoni or meat lovers. Overall, food was quick, service was good, prices were fairly reasonable beers were 3.5 or 4.5 depending on import, and a medium pizza was about $ 15 – 17. Husband complained that pasta cost $ 15 – 20, which I pointed out is about the same price as an olive garden meal… so somewhat reasonable, but I guess for a pizza place, you would not expect it to be that much.

Pretty strange place once inside, but the service was good. I am a jersey pizza snob, so this didn’t really fit the bill. It was too doughy and not cooked long enough. The side salad was very good and was a good sized portion. However, we couldn’t eat the entire pie there, so we took half of it to go. And when you re-heat in the oven, it tastes outstanding. It makes it crispier and you can tell that they do use good ingredients.

Slow service. Bland pizza. Loud music. Lackadaisical service. For those who care about such things, there’s a poker room in back. I found it odd. For my money, I would take Fellini’s any day of the week.

A good place to go if you want to wait 2 hours for a medium pepperoni pizza. Then be prepared to wait an additional 30 minutes to talk to a manager. Make sure you brace yourself for the attitude of indifference.

This location is 10x better than the one in Norcross. It’s def a spot you can just hang with your friends and not feel rushed out the dang door. As far as food quality IMO: Pies were better than good but not the best I’ve had in Atlanta. The sauce wasn’t thick and overpowering. It complemented the toppings and crust well and didn’t taste like it can from a can The toppings don’t roll off the pie when you picked it. The ratio was spot on. The cheese was dumb hot and plentiful!!! Of course that makes all the difference to me. Who wants to stiff cheese glued to their pizza? NOTME! The cheese was super oooey gooey Melted magnificence in all its glory!!! I haven’t tried the pasta yet but trust I’ll be back to kill a plate soon!

Gino’s NY Pizza Bar is located at the intersection of Piedmont Rd. and Cheshire Bridge Rd. The restaurant is a spacious, casual pizzeria with plentiful seating both inside in multiple dining areas and outside on the covered wooden patio. There’s a glass bar with pizza pies on display as well as an enclosed case with a few different cakes. There are TVs playing sports and the atmosphere is laid back. In summary, it’s a traditional American pizza joint. One of the great things about Gino’s is it’s open late, until 6am, on Friday and Saturday nights. There are three locations in the Atlanta metro: Midtown, Norcross, and Johns Creek. The menu features many typical Italian and pizza restaurant favorites such as mozzarella sticks, fried calamari, salads(e.g. Greek, antipasto), all sorts of pastas(e.g. spaghetti bolognese, fettucine Alfredo), baked ziti, lasagna, entrees such as chicken, veal, and eggplant Parmesan, New York style hero(sub) sandwiches(e.g. meatball parm, NY cheese steak), calzones, and of course, pizza. They also have desserts. Along with the aforementioned cakes, they have tiramisu and cannoli. Expect to spend about $ 5 – 10 per appetizer and $ 10 – 15 each for most of the pastas, entrees, and heros. Pizza by the slice is available for about $ 3 – 4 per slice. 14-inch medium pizzas run about $ 13 – 20 each and 18-inch large pizzas run about $ 17 – 25 each. The garlic knots are very good. 10 freshly baked garlic knots come to an order with a side of marinara sauce. I think the garlic knots are tasty enough on their own where no marinara sauce is needed. The knots are tossed with plenty of olive oil and garlic and sprinkled with bits of parsley. They taste great and have a strong, pleasant garlicky flavor, which I really like. All of the pizzas I’ve tried here have been pretty good. They include the lasagna pizza, white pizza, meat lovers pizza, and Sicilian pizza. My favorite is the white pizza. The white pizza is made with olive oil, roasted garlic, mozzarella, ricotta, and oregano. The simple pizza is rich, herby, and flavorful, particularly the sections with smooth and creamy ricotta. It’s delicious. The lasagna pizza also contains ricotta along with mozzarella and a meat sauce. Therefore, it tastes just like lasagna except in pie form. This and the Sicilian pizza are quite filling and gratifying. The Sicilian pizza is a deep-dish pizza that, unlike the other pizzas, is served in rectangular form. Its thick yet soft and rather savory crust is the best part about it. The meat lovers pizza is prepared with pepperoni, meatballs, sausage, ham, and mozzarella cheese. It’s a solid pie packed with plenty of meat that probably won’t leave you feeling disappointed. In general, the toppings are fresh and the crusts delectable. Service is good. The servers are friendly and pies come out from the kitchen relatively quick. All in all, this is not a bad pizza place for the neighborhood.

Unfortunately I have to reduce the stars. I went here for the 2nd time and the food was awful. I ordered the Eggplant rollinti, it was supposed to come with pasta. I ordered it «to go» and by the time I got home there was no pasta in the bag. No I didn’t fell like driving another 15 minutes to get my pasta and then drive back home another 15 minutes. I could of let that go because they gave me garlic bread. But the eggplant was very rubbery, it made it difficult to cut with a knife. I tried 2 bites and I had to stop. I did not eat this meal. My husband ordered Chicken parm sandwich since I told him the last time I ordered this is was pretty good. I asked him how he liked the sandwich and he said it did not like it and I took a bite to see if it was as good as the last time I had it. There was definitely something wrong with the chicken. It had a weird texture, rubbery and crunchy at the same time if that makes any sense. Not the crunchy because it’s breaded and fried. It’s was the meat part that did not taste how chicken should. I don’t know if because the chicken was old, but it’s was AWFUL. I did not eat either of these dishes and ended up just eating the fries that came with the sandwich and the garlic bread. Another note about the service, well the counter service since I’ve only ordered ‘to go” both times I came. Both times they messed up. 1st visit: I waited 15 minutes as expected and a girl brought out a box telling me they made a Chicken Philly cheese steak instead of Chicken parm that I ordered. She asked me if I still wanted the Chicken parm. I told her I still wanted what I ordered nicely and so I waited another 15 minutes. 2nd visit: and most likely my LAST time there. I ordered 2 sandwiches. The lady told me it would take 15 minutes for the food to be ready. I leave and send my husband back 15 minutes later, he said the lady acted like she had no idea of the order. A man at the back of the counter reminded her of the order and she admitted she was scattered. Anyway my husband ended up waiting another 10 minutes. Honestly I could forgive the extra wait time and even a mess up on the order is understandable. But the horrible chicken has left a bad taste in my mouth and I will have to take Gino’s off my rotation. I really think they tried to serve old chicken.

Ever drive past a place numerous times, see a parking lot full of cars and just never stop by? Well that’s how I feel about Gino’s but I changed that today. I stopped by otw to set. I wanted a white pizza but of course it wasn’t on the menu today. But the staff was knowledgeable and recommended other things that were big hits as well. I ended up getting margarita pizza and a calzone to go. Both were delicious and didn’t stand a chance. I will be back on order to try that white pizza though. And I’ll be sure to snap some pictures.

Lots of dough. That’s the first thought that comes to mind when I think of Gino’s. Dining in, the service is s o s l o w. I have only been 2 or 3 times during the day, typcially this is a after midnight meal from a night on the town. I never really want to go but one of my friends loves this place. I take that back, he likes this location but says the food at the Norcross location is better quality. The garlic knots are typically the only thing I get. I have had the pizza but I usually don’t want pizza at 2am. I don’t think this place ever closes. It is always open. I am not so sure if this is NY Pizza as well. Maybe the owner is from there. If you need a hangover meal from a night of drinking and need to recover, try Gino’s. If your looking for the best pizza in town, go somewhere else. I dont think they have tvs, but it is something they should consider.

A group of us came here for an early dinner after a visit to the Sweetwater Brewery over the weekend. I was happy to join the group because I was craving an antipasto salad so it was great timing. The restaurant has plenty of parking available and a fairly large patio area. When you first walk in, you can’t help but notice the neon lights and the random decorative features hanging from the ceiling. We were seated promptly and greeted by a server who immediately took our drink orders while we wait for the rest of our group to arrive. The food took awhile to come out which was odd because the majority of the folks at our table ordered individual slices of pizza. I was definitely pleased with my antipasto salad. The reason for my 2 star rating was the service was not the best during our last visit. Our server took forever with getting our checks at the end of the dinner and it was hard for us to even gain her attention when we needed to place other orders or request more water. Not sure if it was just an off night for them or they were short on staff but the entire dining experience was ruined by the lack of attention and service from our server. It made me not want to return again with new friends and just like Unilocal says when you give two stars, «Meh, I’ve experienced better.»

Here’s all you need to know: sicilian marinara pizza. It’s really the only choice you have now. It’s a must-order. When I moved to Atlanta 6 years ago, I drove past Gino’s(back then it was Alfredo’s, I believe) every single day. The parking lot was either empty or there was a cop with flashing lights. And despite the onset of pizza wars in the ATL, this place has managed to stay open. But I don’t know anyone who has ever eaten here! So I brought a group of 10 for a UYE last Sunday. Server Caleb had no problem throwing together a table for us. The interior of the restaurant reminds me of my childhood pizza spot. It’s casual, but clean and nice. We had garlic knots(AMAZING if you love garlic), but for the main event split the white, meat lovers, lasagna, and sicilian marinara pizzas. For me the big winner was the sicilian. The thick crust was soft and fresh. Sometimes sicilian pizza, the crust is overbaked and a little tough, sometimes hard to choke down(but you do anyway, because, bread). This sicilian was easily the best I’ve ever head. PLUS — that marinara. It was amazing. It was sweet and also tasted house-made to me. All the others were great too. I’m normally a meat person, but the white came in at second place for me. One thing that might have made a difference to our group was that we ordered full pizzas instead of individual slices. This meant the pizzas were made fresh for us and came right from the oven to our table. Can we talk about Caleb for a minute? What a rock star! I will definitely be requesting him when we come back. He prepped us with tons of extra plates and clean plates when we needed it, napkins, topped of waters regularly, and got us that second pitcher of beer at just the right time. He handled our big table of 10 with no problem. Big thanks for splitting the entire check 10 ways(!). So here’s the deal: this is not Antico, or Varasanos. This is New York style pizza; Gino’s direct competitor is more places like Fellini’s. So when you’re looking for normal, no-nonsense pizza, this is the place to come. I’m definitely returning! I’ve got to keep that memory of the sicilian marinara fresh in my mind.

«Just because I brought pizza back from New York doesn’t mean it went bad.» — Iron Man(2008) Yes, we did it. We finally checked out this place after years of driving past and wondering… let’s face it, it is on a somewhat scary corner of Piedmont and Cheshire Bridge roads — not exactly where I would go expecting great food and a clean establishment. Much to my surprise, that’s exactly what we found. Thanks once again to Pam A. for suggesting we try this place out, 10 of us descended upon Gino’s on a Sunday evening to try out some pies — true NY style pizza. Since we wanted to try a lot of different pizzas, we decided it would be best to order 4 pizzas to share. But first — we started with the garlic knots — this was mostly my fault. When we stepped in the door a waitress walked past me with a plateful and I almost followed her. The waft of garlic and olive oil was intoxicating and I was distracted. Caleb was getting a couple of tables put together for us since we were a large group and all I could think was — how fast can we get some garlic knots?! We placed our order — 2 orders of garlic knots(should have gotten 3 or 4 the way we devoured them) and 4 pizzas: White, Meat Lover’s, lasagna and Sicilian. A great cross-section of their different options. When the garlic knots came out — we attacked, like heathens. little balls of heaven dripping in olive oil, bits of fresh garlic and flecks of parsley. With a ramekin of marinara in the middle for dipping, I wanted to lick the plate(Yes, I resisted). They were steaming hot, but perfectly pull-apart yeast rolls. I think there was enough that everyone got 2 of them(score), but I could have eaten 4 or 5 and been a happy girl. Maybe it was a good think we only got 2 orders? Next up — the pies! First came out the lasagna. Piled high with sautéed meat, fresh ricotta and sauce and mozz. We only got a medium for this one since we ordered large pizzas for the other 3. It was delightful, but probably ranked 3rd of 4 for me. Not that it wasn’t excellent, but the 2 ahead of it just blew it out of the water. I would most definitely order it again as it really did taste like lasagna in pizza form. Next — the white pizza. Holy moly, Spicoli! My favorite of the night! Creamy ricotta, lots of melty mozzarella, flecks of herbage and some garlic to round it out. I’d have eaten many slices of this if I didn’t need to share. Folks are lucky since this was placed in front me — I considered running out the door with this one and keeping it ALL to myself! But not to be outdone — the Sicilian(say that with a lisp in your head as you read this). Thick, pan crust… cheesy goodness, sweet marinara, basil… inconceivable! I’m a fan and really shouldn’t be. I prefer thinner crusts as a rule, but this was amazing! So close to tying the white pizza — no wait… they ARE tied! I’d have to order both of them again when I go back. As for the poor lonely last place finisher — the Meat Lover’s(can they really call it that?) — I feel bad as it was actually great. packed to the gills with every meat imaginable — beef, sausage, meatball, pepperoni — everything. It really was delicious. I just was the sad red-headed step child to all our other choices. And it was delicious! In a nutshell — thin, fold-it-to-eat-it NY style pizza. Great crust, great sauce, fresh toppings. The service was pretty good(considering there were 10 of us) and they did not add auto-gratuity. The table and chairs were clean(forgot to check out the bathrooms) and there was plenty of parking in the lot. I’d definitely come back here again(and remind WABE that we should get take out from here again when we are in a pinch — which we have done before).
