All I can say is Fatima is wonderful. I have long thick hair, no color, no perm and I walk out of there bouncing and behaving. I def will be when I come back to the A

I really love this salon. I was able to get an appointment the same day that I called, which on a Thursday afternoon can be a task. When I arrived at the salon at the appointed time, I was almost immediately seated for the wash portion. I also received the steam treatment, which in all honesty seemed to just tangle my hair. I think it might be a little overrated, but that’s just my opinion. As for the stylist, TOSHIHOOKEDMEUP ! She did a great job !! I got compliments the whole weekend. My hair looks healthy and shiny, and soft to the touch. Besides having my hair look and feel good, I was in and out in 90 minutes. There is nothing that I hate more than a stylist who doesn’t respect their clients time and overbooks, and keeps people there all day. But not TOSHI! Needless to say, I will definitely be a return client.

Ditto on Sherri’s review! I’m looking for a stylist in the Atlanta area and I believe I’ve found her! I was in town for the weekend and needed a wash, style and slight trim(or so I thought, will come back to this). I told the receptionist I have a short haircut, a variation of a bowl-cut, something like Rhianna’s before the red weave and asked who she recommends. She told me Erin would be perfect and that Erin has a short style herself. I was 20 minutes late to my appointment because I’m new to the area, was coming from downtown Decatur and apparently the city of Atlanta doesn’t believe in street signs! I was totally mortified, I hate being late especially to salon appointments. I thought I would throw Erin’s schedule off and sit in the shop«all day» which I totally detest. I arrived and apologized profusely but Erin was so cool and nice about it. She assured me it was ok and even told me she appreciated the fact that I was so respectful of her time. The shop was nice with an open air, exposed brick, loft feel. The only downsides are parking can be a bit difficult on Peters St. and some of the stylists are independent of the salon so they don’t take debit/credit. There’s an ATM across the street at Slice but I hate paying ATM fees. I wish I were informed of this at the time of booking. Nevertheless, on to the service, Erin washed my hair thoroughly and I like the way the products made my hair feel. I told her I just wanted her to clean up my lining and trim a little. She noticed my sideburns were uneven and asked if I wanted her to make them even, of course I said yes! While she was trimming I thought a little more was being cut than necessary but I like to let stylists work so I didn’t say anything. The end result was absolutely FLY! My hair was shiny, had movement and the extra trim brought out my cheekbones even more! Erin at Glam Bar is officially my stylist in the A! :-)

I just LOVE trying out new hair salons that open up everywhere and recently took a trip to The Glam Bar Salon & Spa in Atlanta, Georgia on Peters Street. First, I am SOOO glad that an upscale salon opened up on Peters Street in the Castleberry Hill neighborhood. This is exactly what the neighborhood there needed. So a little description? Okay here we go! When you walk into the salon it has a lofty type feel and décor to it. Very Hollywood glam. Everything in there is super girly from the stiletto heels on the walls as wall art to the hot pink couches in the bonnet dryer area. The colors are hot pink, silver, white and chocolate brown and the staff was extremely nice. The customer service was impeccable and the concierge will order food for you from nearby restaurants like Slice, Pearl and 255 Lounge just to name a few. You can also watch movies at the bonnet dryer area, listen to an ipod and check out a laptop if you need it. How great is that? Now on to the hair styling! My appointment was with a hairstylist named Erin and she did an excellent job on my hair. Sometimes my biggest fear is that when I get my hair done, tracks will come loose but not with Erin! She was very cautious of my sew in and got the job done well. I asked for a deep conditioner, flat iron and curl hairdo. When wearing Indian hair that is naturally curly, it’s important to make sure your hairstylist straightens your hair out with the blow dryer AND the flat iron before putting curls in it. If not, your hair will bush up and revert right back to it’s natural state. NONONO! Erin got my hair bone straight! She used the traditional marcel irons(you know the irons that go into the little stove) which we like more than ceramic because in our opinion, the hair stays straighter longer. I could have left my appointment and been on my way after she straightened my hair. It looked great! However, I wanted to test out Erin’s curling skills and she did a fantastic job curling my hair! I highly recommend The Glam Bar and will be going back for a visit soon. Downsides are that the shop is pricy. One time I got my weave removed and they charged me $ 45. I didn’t have my natural hair washed/blow dried or anything… JUST A TAKEDOWN. That is a little outrageous when there are several other salons in Atlanta that are just as good that will take your weave down for $ 20-$ 25. But if you have money to spend, you won’t be disappointed for the level of service at The Glam Bar.
