A convenient spot if you are starving with limited time. Otherwise, don’t waste your stomach space. The googie classic beef burger was just slightly above McDonald’s. The hot dog might have been worse than a dirty water dog from NY. The kids meal is pretty cheap though since it comes with fries and a drink.

Barely average burger, slightly above average fries, grumpy employees and a 40 min wait. I ordered the classic, the hamburger patty was tough and overcooked and the sauce ratio was comical… ½ tsp per burger? Ok… The garlic ranch fries were good. Pretty potent, so maybe I’m supposed to put them on my burger in place of the sauce so that it tastes like something? The real problem was that I waited 20 min to order, the employees were grumpy, and waited another 20 min for food that was well below the standard of say 5 guys or even In N Out, not to mention any non-chain burger joint. I’ll wait, and even deal with attitude, but not for mediocre food.

If you are in Atlanta and in the Centennial Park, I recommend you give Googie a try. It’s your typical burger joint. The burger I had was good. FYI for the Onion Ring lovers… It’s $ 4 bucks, for FOUR rings. Also, they do offer a drink refill. Of couse, while I was trying to get mine at the food pick up window, I was told to go to the front. The front had a long line of confused customers. So I left for Stabucks, and an overall 3 star experince.

Located just next to the Centennial Olympic Park fountains, Googie is the token hamburger stand that gets most of their business from tourists and park goers. All of their seating is outside, and it’s a counter order /take a number kind of place. Their menu is a little funkier than the standard«hamburger or hot dog or chicken tenders» kind of stand that probably stood in its place 15 years ago, with funky ingredients(like Gouda cheese and aioli) and even portobello burgers for vegetarians. Basically you pick the meat, and pick the kind of «style» you want(basically what combo of toppings/sauce you want). I got a Portobello«bayou style” – which means blackening spice, jalapeño, smoked Gouda, lettuce, tomato, onion, garlic, and aioli. Sounds like it could be a winning combo. Only problem is that they put all the burgers in a to-go foil that smushes the buns making them flat as they soak up all the sauces. The result is a sad, soggy, small burger that’s literally dripping in grease and sauce. Taste was ok, but way messier than it needed to be. Killer milkshakes though… best decision of the Googie Burger experience.

I cannot review the burgers but I went for just a bottled water. I am not a cheap person, but, I don’t like being taken advantage of. They charged $ 3.00 for a tiny bottled water. I paid, the girl handed me the 3 bottles of water and I was astounded. I said, «what a rip off» and she said«I know right». The burgers might be great but don’t order the water!

Rude! Rude! Rude! If the girl working behind the counter is so miserable, she should look for work elsewhere. You’re in a tourist spot. You’re gonna get tourist questions. And the fact that your ice cream machine was down after we waited in line is not our fault. So you shouldn’t have been so short with us.

I didn’t like the hamburger. It was supposed to have a blue cheese and there wasn’t. The French fries wasn’t good and there wasn’t enough soda on my glass, there was just ice, for just one refill.

We had the portobello mushroom burger. My daughter had trouble eating it. It was messy and chewy. Fries were OK but nothing to comment on. I thought it was OK with not on my veggie recommend list.

We had a quick afternoon lunch. The burgers were delicious. The value was great and we enjoyed the perfect 79 degree weather. Give them a shot for a quick bite.

If you are in Centennial Park, or just hopped off the SkyView then come by here and grab some parmesan fries and a Googie, not Google Burger. I thought the sign said Google from afar, I didn’t have my glasses on. Disclaimer: This is a quick fix, and has moderate prices.

My family isn’t very big on burgers. We’ll occasionally eat Flip Burger or Yeah Burger — if you’re an Atlanta native then you’re familiar with these yummy places. We were in Centennial Park with the kids the other day, and we had already checked out Googie Burger online and decided to give it a try. The menu looked similar to Yeah Burger. You choose one of 5 styles of burger, and you can swap the beef patty for chicken or a veggie patty or hot dog. So, the menu and the website sold us. I ordered the Hot-Lanta Burger, my wife had the grilled-chicken Blackened Bayou, regular cheeseburgers for the kids, and fries. You order at a walk-up window, since there is no inside seating. Let me start by saying this: I’m a very pleasant customer. I worked in the food industry for years, and I know how stressful it can be, so when I interact with restaurant employees, I ooze niceties. So, someone comes to the window and dutifully welcomes us and asks to take our order. I put on a smile, ask how she is and begin my order. It’s obvious to me that she doesn’t want to be there. I’m trying to joke around and lighten the mood, but I can tell she’s done for the day. It takes a really long time to get through the order. I’m not sure what the problem is, but every time I order one of the items, she stares at her computer, slowly presses a few buttons, then after a minute responds to me. She can’t find the button for the milk and asks someone to help. So, the order takes 10 minutes, but luckily, no one else is waiting. She tells me they’ll call my name at the other window when it’s ready. We find a table outside and let the kids run around. It takes about 15 minutes for our order to come to the window. Again, there isn’t anyone else here. That seemed like a very long time for burgers. The lady at the window doesn’t say anything as she passes my order to me. This is a different lady, but she also seems to despise me. My wife said her chicken sandwich was okay. My burger was cold. Not just cool, but actually cold. Almost like they made mine really fast, then put it in the freezer while they cooked the other burgers. It was really bad, but I’m definitely not going to take it back and try again. I just didn’t want to spend another 20 minutes on it — not worth it. The fries were actually good, but they didn’t salt them. No salt at all, which is better than too much salt. I just thought that was kind of odd. My kids didn’t eat half of their burgers. The patties had large chunks of black pepper, and my son found that to be a turn-off. So, of course I can’t recommend this place. It’s just a shame, since it’s the only food stand in the park. If I had my way, I’d shut this place down and open a taco stand. Or, even better, let local restaurants take turns using the kitchen and have rotating menus, food truck style.

Good place for burger n fries. The park is surrounded by expensive and slow restaurants. This place is quick, tasty and modestly priced. Right in olympic centennial park. Eat outside on almost clean tables.

This business is apparently closed. My daughter and I walked up at 4:30 today, which is a Saturday. They were closed, but it appeared they were only closed for the day. Then I come on here to write a review because that really angers me when customers show up and they can’t bother to be opened, and it looks like they may be CLOSED. Visit at your own risk, apparently. Went to the Waffle House across the street. That place was both open and delicious.

It is now 2:47 the store is closed, no one is inside at all which means it has been closed for a while. The instructions for this location shows they are open on Sunday until 3 pm. Unless they are closed on Sunday’s and that’s not reflected correctly, not sure. This location is the center of the park. I don’t understand why they close at 3 pm on Sunday’s.

Had the great idea of getting beer and a burger here during a festival event since I knew they would take credit cards. The burger was OK, for the price it should come standard with pickles, lettuce, onions, tomato– but it didn’t. I was saddened to open up a plane burger with cheese & white bread. To top it all off they forgot to give me my fries which sucks because I’ll never know what the greasy $ 4 fries taste like. One good thing I can say is that they offer Sweet Water beer which is a local favorite. Gotta support Atlanta local brews.

Whilst spending all day Downtown on a Saturday and realizing that our first lunch option was closed until dinner service, Googie Burger was a surefire win. Right across the street at Centennial Park and easy for a quick walk n’ grab kind of lunch. A few of our constituents make the trek for our lunch and it was a cinch. The fare? Pretty awesome, actually. The veggie burger, which is a huge portobello on a bun and grilled rather well. The South of Buffalo and Hot-Lanta topping choices were definitely the best-sounding and best-tasting as well. The buffalo flavor was nice and cut well with a bit of ranch. I really dig the sriracha on the Hot-Lanta as well. Nice to have a bit of heat on a veg burger. One thing I loved, and wasn’t expecting at all, were the onion rings. They were awesome. I can’t comment on dining in, but I’ve walked by Googie on several occasions and really dig the location. I’m sure if we find ourselves in Centennial in the future Googie will be a great choice for a vegetarian-friendly lunch. Dig it!

We stopped here on a road trip and I was blown away. I ordered the Cajun chicken burger with Gouda and fried jalepenos. Probably one of the best sandwiches I’ve ever had. My boyfriend was laughing that I kept bringing it up hours later raving about how good it was. One of the things I was really impressed with was the VERY simple menu with mix and match gourmet options. Very seamless and smart! Gordon Ramsey would be so proud. I would love it if there were more locations. Hint: come to Tampa, Florida!

I have to be honest… my expectations for Googie Burger were pretty low. After all, it’s smack dab in the middle of one of the most touristy areas in Atlanta, and doesn’t exactly offer a gourmet set of options. However, my expectations were met with a pretty delightful and wholly delicious reality. We were hosting a big event just down the street, when our lunch plans fell through and we had to feed quite a few people in a short amount of time. Enter the Unilocal App’s «Nearby» feature and Googie Burger popped up. We checked out the menu online, gathered everyone’s reviews and were off. A short walk into Centennial, and there was Googie Burger, with a line about 15 people deep. While the organization of the ordering/paying process could have been more streamlined, my 4 stars are all about the food. Once we ordered and walked around to the pickup window, it was a short wait for our burgers and sides. The ranch fries were really nice, and the onion rings were memorable. My order was the veggie burger(portobello cap) Hot-Lanta style. I ate every ounce of it. Any time a burger comes with french fries ON it, I’m a fan. The sriracha ranch sauce and cherry peppers added to the complex flavor and completed an all-around great burger. All that to say… if you’re hungry and in the neighborhood, Googie Burger isn’t a bad option. Not bad at all.

I’m so sad that I only had one of the veggie burgers! I ordered the veggie burger and french fries. The in-house made veggie burger was out of this world delicious! They use fresh ingredients and no corn! A LARGE black bean patty with brown rice, organic oats, vegetables and topped with lettuce, tomato, pickle, onion, Googie barbeque sauce, and pepper jack cheese for only 3.95. A price that I would never find back at home made this burger so much more appealing. My whole meal was under $ 10 and delicious!

Ever since I worked at my job, I have yet to actually visit this place. Which is actually less than a block from my building, American Cancer society building. So since we hired on new techs to help us leads out a bit, I mention Googie Burger as an option if they ever felt like a burger but didn’t want o get deliver. Well… we waited quite a bit. One tech even called in everyday since January to see if they were open since they were really lacking on updating their twitter and webpage. I’m not sure if you can call it luck, but they finally were operating again when one of the techs decided to stop by and pick up his food. I believe this was on the 26th or 27th of March. I was really hoping to try the burger they had won the 2012 Battle of the Burger contest. But, alas, that was not meant to be. Food: So now to the nitty gritty. I placed a to go order which consisted of the Classic Burger and a side of fries. I was tempted to order a alcohol milkshake, but I rather not tempt to be called up to HR for a milkshake. Maybe 5, but ones just not worth it. From what my co-workers stated, there was an event at the park hence their operating hours were extended to 8pm that night, yet they weren’t the slightest busy when our orders were done. One tech, noticed that after cooking the fries and hanging them to let some oil drain, they put the whole order to cook again! So you can see from my pic, half of my order of fries are actually well done. I actually couldn’t finish the over cooked ones, they were to dry. The other half that were cooked properly, were just so-so. Nothing spectacular. Now, the part you actually wanted to hear about. The burger was pretty much, meh. I seriously, not lying to you in any way, had much better from other places. This coming from a guy who actually started his own«best burger quest» in 2011. The burger was cooked on well done. Had an average amount of seasoning. Really it tasted like the burgers I could cook up on a random weekend if I wanted to grill. New reviewers should ask it for medium if they’re willing to give this place a try. At least the burgers would come out a little more juicy. Frys are average, just make sure to spot check them before leaving if they overcook it. I’m willing to give this place one more try, but only if they are serving their goggie gold burger. Reference:
