The owner and managers are the most crooked people to work for. They cheated one of their employees out of more than half their last check and are now refusing to send his W-​2. Y’all better watch out! We are sending the IRS your way!

Gordy Tire was recommended to me when I moved to Atlanta and needed work done on my car. My family’s cars have been in 3 times over the past few months (unfortunately for me) and I feel as if I’ve found a reliable auto shop I can trust.

They replaced a tire and changed my oil in less than half an hour. Nice waiting room.

Not honest. Not professional. $ 714 later, multiple visits and my car STILL isn’t running normally. These guys are to be avoided.

I definitely recommend this place. I had a screw in my tire and even though they were busy they got me in and out in 45 minutes at a very reasonable price.

So, yeah, don’t blow out both tires on the passenger side of the car. And don’t do it on the Friday before Memorial Day weekend. On Howell Mill near the corner of 8^th St (because if you’re going to that intersection you should really be eating at Bocado). Further, don’t do it when you have no idea what kind or size of tires you have on the car.
All that being said, if you were to perhaps do all of the above, call Gordy. Find out how quickly they can get you in, see what kind of tires are on your car and figure out what is the same or the closest to them, in stock. These nice people will help you — and recommend collection by A-​Tow (who are a little pricey as they have a flat rate + a per mile charge) and get you all fixed up in no time. Their prices are reasonable (the knowledgeable friend who helps you out might say) and even on an older car, such as an ’04 Lexus with many a good mile on it, all is good.
Those awfully close lanes you were traveling might require an eagle’s eye, and fingers crossed, next time.
Just sayin’.

If you have a problem in this place talk to the manager… He is awesome and will look out for you!

The guys at Gordy tire are the best! We take both of our cars there for oil changes and light mechanic services. They are very nice and never pressure you into any services you don’t feel that you need. We’ve never felt that they’ve been dishonest about anything since the first time using them. Highly recommend!

I came here after I twice tried to get an oil change up the street from Express Oil Change, and the third time they tried to rip me off by telling me my car took a different oil type then the manufacturer recommended. Gordy Tire had me in & out in 15 minutes… with the correct oil! Thanks!

I will never try to use them again. At the Atlanta location they are RUDE and not at all helpful when you call. The Smyrna location, well, they’re polite but still not very helpful and not very customer service oriented. As someone who has always worked in the service industry I was entirely disappointed with them. Such a shame.

I never thought I could love a mechanic, but this place is great! I’ve been using a Groupon, but I’d go there even without the coupon. They never give me any hassle, never try to sell me things I don’t need, etc. Yes, you need to schedulee an appointment weeks in advance, and the appointment is usually at 8am, but it’s worth it. Highly recommended!

They used aftermarket parts for my car’s O2 sensors, and they went bad just within a year. It then cost me $ 600 to diagnose the problem afresh and replace aftermarket sensors with the original factory O2 sensors (at a different shop). I wished they used durable parts, and not cheap parts which go bad frequently.
Also, recently they seemed to have raised their prices and it has become more expensive to get repair work done here.

I have taken my car to Gordy Tires many many times since 2011. They have provided me excellent service, with integrity and at lower cost. I have taken my car for Check Engine Light Problems, Tire Repair, all kinds of periodic servicing. I am impressed, and would recommend them to everyone!

Horrible Customer Service — I purchased an oil change punch card for this business. On the card it states that Appointments Required for servicing. I called to make an appointment and was told that they don’t make appointments and I would just need to show up before 10:00 am see if they had the time to change the oil. I show up at the place and they say that all the bays are full and can I leave my car for 2 hours to get the oil changed. I don’t think so. My time is more valuable than theirs. Don’t patronize this unethical business.

I got the coupon off of amazon for 3 oil changes, and let’s start just with that.
1) The fine print says you have 6 months to use the 3 oil changes. So if you use it immediately and at the end of the 6 month period, you’re only slightly getting less than your 3 months/​change worth.
2) BUT they take over 1 week to mail it to you, and then require appointments, which they «never have» until a week from when you call.
3) With an appointment, it took over 1 hour for an oil change. The weren’t swamped, there were more mechanics than people there.
4) They told me I need to buy new brakes when I bought brakes 4 months ago. How is it possible that they are so clueless about something so basic?
5) Also part of the coupon, they require you to pay the discharge fee for oil and to pay the difference if your car doesn’t take 10w-​30. So my «free» oil change was still $ 10.
Long story short, this place is awful and never go here, the coupon is a ripoff in its own right. I’m throwing it in the trash for the next two oil changes I have left and just never going to this place again.

I’ve been a LOYAL Gordy customer since 2000 & I don’t trust anyone else to take care of my car! I’ve tried other shops that were closer to home, for the convenience, I ALWAYS end up back at Gordy. I find the gentlemen to be friendly, courteous and trustworthy — a winning combination!

I bought a deal from living social for 3 oil changes amongst other things. This place is near my work so I thought it may help me develop a relationship with a good business. The coupon required an appointment for the oil change so I called the day before. They said I didn’t need an appointment and that they only have one appointment per day and it was at 8:00 and those were all taken this week so I could come in and wait. I showed up at 10:30 am on a Weds. There was an open bay when I arrived. The first thing I was told was that I needed an appointment. I explained that I had called and he said if I waited 90 minutes he could work me in. They must have made a killing selling these coupons when no one will ever be able to redeem them unless they have nothing else to do in their life. Fortunately Express Oil Change was down the street and they are changing my oil while I write this. I wasted $ 30 on a coupon but they lost a customer for life. Maybe a good deal for them if they sold hundreds or thousands of these.

First of all, I trust the guys at this place. To me, that means everything. As a woman who is absolutely utterly clueless about vehicles and how they function, I am thrilled to have a place where I can take my vehicles when they are having issues.
I first went there about three years ago per reccommendation of neighborhood friend. Last time I went, about a month ago, I took my mother, whom’s air conditioning stopped working. She believed, and was told it would be upwards $ 300. When they called to tell us it was ready, we were delighted to hear it was a minor problem, only around $ 100. Good guys… nuff said.

I purchased a coupon for Gordy Tire at
for 3 oil changes, 2 tire rotations and a check for an engine light. While attempting to redeem my coupon, the two Gordy Tire employees on duty questioned the validity of such coupon claiming that they were unaware that Gordy Tire used
for discounts.
While retrieving my redemption code on my cell phone, one employee told me that I would have to produce a hard copy of my coupon-​indicating other clients coupons on the counter. I told him that I had the redemption code (I’ve never had a problem with other businesses using redemption codes). He then refuted the fact that I would need a hard copy and claimed that I would have to wait for a flyer-​coupon via snail mail which would take 5 – 7 business days.
I calmly told the employees that I would need an oil change today. Instead of letting me know how much an oil change would cost without the coupon, one employee didn’t bother to look up from paperwork he was doing and the other responded with a blank stare. I guess I wasn’t welcome.
Thank GOD Express Oil Change was just down the street! I am definitely calling Half Off Depot for a refund!

Service is pretty good. Like the other reviewers stated, the price «can» be reasonable. They know what they are doing, that’s for sure. Trying to find honesty through mechanics is a job in itself. But the workers here do a pretty good job.

I bought a deal for 3 oil changes off Living Social or Groupon (I can’t remember which site), and I was a little apprehensive initially because I’d never heard of this place. I was VERY pleasantly surprised with the customer service and honesty of the mechanics. As a female, I’m always worried about getting ripped off, so when I asked them to check my tires, I was sure they’d try to sell me an expensive set, but I was told my tires were in great shape and that one needed to be patched due to a nail being in it. The only thing I’d change would be more seating in the waiting area, and maybe a coffee maker ;-). They’ve definitely earned a customer for life!
