The entrée was okay, nothing special. I had the vegetable tofu with added rice dish. I did enjoy the appetizer which was vegan chicken nuggets. Very crispy, deep fried and tasteful. My friend who is a meat-eater really enjoyed the food & is thinking about converting to Veganism finally after trying the food here. The cook seemed to be very accommodating but the waitress/hostess was very rushed. She kept wanting us to rush with our order since there was a big group reservation coming after us and she didn’t want it to be a delay in out food but I think she could of went about it a little better. I will probably give it another try if I get some time before I leave Atlanta because it’s a vegan restaurant and I love my fellow vegans plus there isn’t a huge selection of vegan restaurants in Atlanta.

This is an all vegan restaurant. I’m not a fan of fake meat, but my husband is and he likes it a lot. I love the vegetable noodle soup. It’s hearty with tons of vegetables in a savory broth. I crave it.

They give a nice(perfect) portion of food for your order and I was amazed about how they didn’t skimp out. I ordered from their dinner menu during lunch hours. Their food is great. I can tell they don’t add a lot of sodium to their food and I greatly appreciate that. Usually when someone adds a ton of sodium, the flavor is overbearing or almost like junk food. In this case, I don’t think GS uses as much sodium as other places do. Their food smells amazing. I can understand people hating on GS’s tofu, but let me be clear for you folks eating tofu– it’s a hit or miss thing. You either LIKEIT or YOUDON’T. I can eat tofu really toasted or a little juicy and chewy because I am pure VEGAN! GS has juicy and chewy tofu, so if that’s not your thing then be warned. I love GS’s food. Stop telling them they don’t know what they’re doing. They know exactly what they’re doing and they’re doing a FINE job at it. Don’t try to fix something that isn’t broken. Thank you, GreenSprout for delivering steaming hot food to me today! Your food is fantastic! Much love and success to you guys! I’ll be ordering again soon.

Been coming here for years… the food is always good & very fresh. Meat eaters need not be afraid — try the soy chicken or beef — you will be pleasantly surprised and your vegetarian friends will forgive you for all the times they ended up with just a salad when eating at your restaurant of choice.

My first time ordering from here. I recently moved to Atlanta so I needed to start looking for new places to order from. When I called, lunch special was not available because I didn’t realize is just the week day thing. I ordered the soy chicken cutlet with vegetables. It was a delicious meal and I will certainly check out the other options soon. I also tipped the driver cost of order, do something very small for someone, MIH

I order delivery from these guys all the time. Always forget to order rice and they are nice enough to call up and ask if I want some. They food gets to my place in a pretty decent time frame no matter when I order. The food is super tasty and is slowly showing me eating vegetarian isn’t all that bad. I really love their mushroom soup !!!/

After coming here many times over the past few months, I think it’s time to upgrade my previous rating. Let’s start with the fact that this vegan restaurant has an extremely friendly and polite staff. Everyone there is very courteous and a lot of effort goes into giving you a great experience, even if it’s just for takeout. The menu is 100% vegan. The prices are fair and the lunch specials are easily the best deal. I highly recommend starting with the hot and sour soup, as it’s easily the best thing I’ve had on the menu. The entrees are decent, but consistency can vary from option to option. Both the empire and curry soy chicken dishes were good, but the plates were mostly vegetables with very little mock meat at all. One particular visit that really impressed me might seem kind of silly, but I ordered the General Tso’s mock chicken and the waitress asked if I wanted spicy. I explained that I love spicy and the dish came back as one of the spiciest meals I have ever eaten, but in a good way. I can’t tell you how many times Asian restaurants have underwhelmed me with spice, but at Green Sprouts, if you ask for spicy, they will not disappoint! The only thing to note about the General Tso’s is that the texture of the mock chicken is very spongy. The flavor is good, but I always hope for it to be more crispy. Since the service is outstanding(5-stars) and the food is not bad(probably 3-stars), I’ll give them 4-stars, overall.

Forgot to take a picture of my food… I was very hungry. This is the best Vegan food I’ve had for the price ever. Quick and friendly service. I will be coming back soon. Highly recommend to give it a shot, even if you are a carnivore.

Ordered take out and wasn’t impressed: Dumplings: OK Sauteed mixed vegetables — bland Sesame soy chicken — NASTY — that texture does not belong in food String bean with preserved tofu — bland, but OK with soy sauce added. I’ve had all these types of dishes in both vegetarian and non-vegetarian form, but these just did not impress. That dry foam stuff used as «soy chicken» has got to go. There are better meat substitutes, and there are ways to kick up the flavor profiles on these dishes to make them interesting.

I am a Junior at Emory University, and have had trouble finding good Chinese food nearby. On a whim, I ordered takeout from Green Sprout, which is 14 minutes from campus. I could not have been more pleased. I ordered the Hot and Sour Soup and the Mongolian Soy Beef. The soup was flavorful with just the right level of spice. The«beef» was the real winner, though. The sauce was a perfect balance of savory and sweet. The soy protein had great texture and was served with scallions, onions and crispy noodles. This was one of the best meat substitute dishes I have had in my 10 years as a vegetarian. I will definitely be returning to Green Sprout to sample more of their exciting selection of meatless Chinese dishes.

I ordered takeaway from here, two orders of curry rolls and one order of sweet and sour«chicken» to reach the minimum delivery amount of $ 15. The dishes don’t come with rice which is unusual, but they did call me up and confirm that I didn’t want to order a side of it so there was no surprise. The curry rolls were tasty and I would order them again, but I would ask more sauce, the amount they gave would have been good for two rolls but was stretched pretty thin for four. The sweet and sour was fantastic, if they weren’t called«Green Sprout Vegetarian Cuisine» I wouldn’t have eaten it because it tasted so close to what I remember chicken tasting like. The pineapple mixed in was nice, but the red and green bell peppers were pretty bland, I picked most of them out and set them aside after eating a few. Would recommend and will definitely go again at some point, their prices could stand to drop by a few dollars though which would bump them up to a solid five stars.

I went back for dinner yesterday and it was just as delicious as the first time I went. The Sesame Chicken with brown rice is the most amazing vegetarian meal I have ever had. I’ll be back again shortly. Yum!

Everyone has their own opinion. Here’s mine: Loved this place. [VEGAN/Vegetarian] 1. Atmosphere is pretty plain and simple. Booths against the wall, tables by the window and in the middle of the room. Seating is moderately limited. I’m pretty sure they try to cut costs by not blasting the air, so be prepared for a warmer environment than an igloo, if you like igloos like me! 2. Staff… Friendly and one of the ladies loves babies! So if you bring your child, she may lean over you to say hello to your little one. 3. Food: I was definitely impressed with the selection. Appetizers — tried the scallion pancake and it was pretty good. Could have used more scallions, but I can never get enough scallions, yum! Pancake was thin, fried, and somewhat oily, but then again… it was fried. Dumplings were really good. I ordered the pan fried ones. They were partially steamed and then fried. So kind of half and half. They were really fresh tasting and I prefer adding soy sauce to their sauce. Makes it more salty! Entrees — you have to buy your rice separate, but for .75, it’s not a bad deal. The general tso soy chicken was really good. Full of flavor and pretty decent portions. Prices — In comparison to regular Chinese, they are a bit more expensive may $ 1 – 3 more. I’m ok with that considering the amount of food you get and in general vegan/vegetarian can be more expensive. Overall it’s a really good place to get vegan/vegetarian Chinese. I am not fond of the location due to the difficulty of exiting, there’s too much traffic. Oh, and they are closed on Wednesdays. BUT I will drive through rush hour traffic to get dinner from this place.

Green Sprouts is a great place for a vegan to get their asian food fix without having to worry about meat, meat broth and fish sauce being in everything. Rest easy friends, you’ll be safe here. I was here with a group of 6 people and a baby. We had made a reservation ahead of time and were seated promptly and given a run-down of the menu. I ordered the empire chicken, which was crispy, saucy and perfectly seasoned. The only thing I didn’t like is that rice doesn’t come with the entrees, its additional. I can understand that some people may not want rice, but most will and charging extra for a scoop of(white or brown) rice at an asian restaurant was a new concept to me. The service was prompt and attentive and they even brought out a mandarin orange for the baby in our group to chew on — a nice touch. I’ll definitely be back as the rest of the menu needs to be tasted!

We ordered delivery from this place after reading some of the reviews. We were a bit disappointed in the mushroom soup and empire chicken(but then again I’m not too sure I’m a fan of substitute chicken in the first place). I did however really enjoy my spicy eggplant with garlic sauce. I was still reheating it the next day. We also got the curry spring rolls which were pretty good as an appetizer and some coconut bubble tea. The flavor was good but had hoped for more boba as I finished the boba before even half of the drink. Overall a good place for vegetarians if you like substitute meats but if you’re just a veggie fan like myself I’d maybe stick with tofu or straight veggies in a dish. I will definitely try some of their other non-meat substitution dishes in the future.

What?! I haven’t written an update for my favorite restaurant?! Yes, Green Sprout is officially my favorite restaurant, and I could eat their food every day. No, I’m not kidding. I have my favorites that I order, and while the quality may vary a tad from order to order, in general they’re reliable. Seaweed Tofu Roll — I get serious cravings for this stuff! Curry Spring Rolls — potato and taro root, and oh, that curry dipping sauce, what is IN it?! They give such a small amount, like we couldn’t handle it in large quantities, but I could drink it it’s so good. Curry Tofu — it’s not perfect, in fact I’d love to see some shiitakes or straw mushrooms added, and maybe baby corn and water chestnuts, but that’s just my taste — the tofu is cooked beautifully. Yes, rice is extra, and I read someone’s complaint about that. I don’t mind, really. I get the brown rice — white food doesn’t have a lot of nutritional value after all. Other favorites — Pan Fried Dumplings — oh, I love these. Why did it take me so long to try them? Excellent filling, and love the dipping sauce. And the Portobellos with Sesame Sauce — new favorite dish. House Mushroom Soup — enokis! ‘Nuff said. Food is so personal, we all know this. I love this place, and you may not, but I really hope you do. I prefer to get takeout, but I’ve dined in several times as well, and I find the service to be just fine. No hovering, but don’t be in a huge hurry either. My takeout orders are always so well packed, and always ready on time. Everyone is so friendly and nice, polite, and yeah, what else can I say? IT’S VEGAN!

I really liked eating at green sprout. A customer of mine had recommended it to me and on a Monday noon we finally went to celebrate our semester being finished. It was indeed a celebration, it didn’t take long at all to get the food. We got the general tso chicken and the shrimp. The sauce was delicious. The service was great, we did order a sprite that never came. For dessert I had a bubble tea with tarao flavor. Or something like that, it sounded weird but the taste was pretty surprisingly good. Will definitely be back sometime soon!

When my friend brought me here I wasn’t looking forward to it… at all. Nothing against Green Sprout, but the hidden diva in me, didn’t know about eating at a restaurant in an old strip mall. And vegetarian? But, I just kept telling myself to remain open… so glad I did… this place is great. FOOD I’ve had the General Tso’s Tofu twice with Vegetarian Fried Rice and Vegetarian Egg Rolls. Excellent both times. It takes about 20 minutes to so for your food to come out, but I don’t mind waiting because i know it’s fresh and made to order COST My meal which consist of general tsos tofu, vegetarian fried rice, and egg roll, comes to $ 22. The portions of the tofu and rice are generous. I just learned you can add on steamed rice or brown rice to your meal for $ 2, which is the more economic way to go. LOCATION: In a plaza with RuSan’s, Harry Norman, etc. Off Piedmont, near the intersection of Monroe. Across from Ansely Mall Publix /CVS Plaza. Parking lot can be a bit tight at times. DECOR/INTERIOR: It’s small. Similar décor to any other Chinese food restaurant, but they do seem to try to keep it pretty, clean. Nothing special, simple, a bit dated. Since it is small, everyone can hear everyone… so this isn’t a place to have private conversations unless you’re whispering. CUSTOMERSERVICE: Everyone is nice so far. SUMMARY: Bye bye Buddha, Lucky Buddha, and Mulan… I have a healthier place to get my Chinese fix. Definitely try this out if you’re in the mood for Chinese food.

It’s my birthday and I’ve been wanting to try Green Sprout for years now. but I didn’t want to force it on my carnivore boyfriend. I decided to be selfish for my birthday. I was really excited about the food after reading all the glowing reviews. We ordered steamed dumplings, egg rolls, tofu in garlic sauce, Mongolian«beef» and wonton soup. When we received our order, we were shocked that it didn’t include rice. We had to make rice. The point of delivery food is to make life easier. I didn’t want to freaking cook. The dumplings and the egg rolls were so bland. The tofu was okay, but there was hardly any sauce. The Mongolian beef was way too dry. I haven’t had meat(other than fish) in about 20 years. I would have sworn that the meat was real, but it I think it is soy beef jerky. It would have been okay with some sauce, but it was just a bunch of DRY soy meat with a few onions. Even though Harmony is quite a distance from us now, I’m willing to travel to Chamblee for vegan Chinese food. In my opinion, Green Sprout is far inferior to Harmony. Sorry I don’t agree with most of the reviewers.
