Beautiful intimate audience, with a small bar. Come if you want a funny, late night activity. The actors we saw seemed less experienced, but they made up for it in their energy.

I’ve seen a few shows here and found them all very funny. The improv is great, but there is a range of stuff going on from game shows to stand-up comedy to the always great Soapbox show. I’ve cried and hurt myself laughing multiple times. They have classes, too. I saw a grad show that was good and have seen people win free classes sometimes at the shows. I would definitely recommend checking it out.

Highwire is not only a place to see great comedy, but also take classes or get involved! Classes are based on traditional longform and are taught by trained professionals. They also offer a variety of workshops to hone specific stage skills. The family there is warm and welcoming and also open to new ideas or creative input. I enjoy being there every weekend when I run lights and am thankful for the opportunity. Come visit!

A new gem is added to the Atlanta comedy world! This place has it all… amazing performers, fun atmosphere, and it’s not expensive. I have taken two classes here from both Ian and Amanda. They are both excellent instructors and if you are interested in exploring long form improv then this is the place to do it! LOVEHIGHWIRECOMEDYCO!

When I closed the Jackpie Theatre Workshop I worried that we would lack a home for long-form improvisation in Atlanta. My worry was unfounded as Ian Covell has created an amazing, supportive and high quality theatre company near Decatur. Get on over and check this theatre out asap.

I’ve been to more than half a dozen shows here, and every one has been a showcase of great improv talent. I love the variety of shows they put on, from the Soapbox to the improvised disaster movie, and new offerings all the time. Also, Highwire doesn’t limit itself to doing in-house shows — even though their regular casts are terrific. They bring in some of the best improvisers from Atlanta(and sometimes beyond) for special performances. It’s good for the improv community and great for the audience. They have a full range of classes, beginner to advanced. The way they teach here makes improv fun, not frightening. And with their open jams on Thursday nights, anybody can get up on stage and practice their craft. A definite must-see for anyone who enjoys improv.

I stopped pursuing live theater several years ago. It left a hole that needed filling, and I was surprised to find the recently re-branded Highwire Comedy Co. so close to home. They have a dedicated team of experienced performers teaching courses in stand-up comedy and various styles of improvisation, and lineup of shows offers something for nearly every day of the week. Highwire is a great place to be entertained by brand-new performers and stage veterans.

The perfect Thursday/Friday/Saturday night activity. I can’t recommend this place enough and I will not rest until literally all of my friends have come with me to see Ian and Co on Sundays

I’ve taken two classes here from Ian and can’t recommend it enough! They are the ONLY place to see long form improv in Atlanta. They, of course, do other forms of comedy(stand-up, etc) but long form improv is my personal favorite. They have the best long form shows in the city! Been going twice a month now!

Awesome spot! My eyes are still full of tears from laughing so hard tonight. We went to the Sketchy Mcloven show and had the best time. Will definitely be coming back soon for more great improv. We’ve hit most of the improv spots around Atlanta and this was the best in a long while! Can’t wait to come back and have a ball soon.

If you’re looking for Chicago-style long form improv, this is the place. Just around the corner from downtown Decatur, they have sketch and improv shows 4 nights a week.

I love this place! Atlanta was already a vibrant city for great improv comedy, then Highwire came along, filled a much-needed niche, and continued building gangbusters with fresh new stuff. Highwire specializes in Chicago-style long form improv, which is my personal favorite type, and their veteran performers do it extremely well. These guys are among the funniest performers I’ve ever seen anywhere.(Some are veterans of the best improv theatres in the world, like Chicago’s Second City, PIT from New York, and Orlando’s SAK among others – and it shows!) Also, the best players from Atlanta’s OTHER great improv theatres often converge to play on the Highwire stage, so Highwire is an ideal place to catch the top talent from the whole area. Their Soapbox show is always a winner, and their improvised disaster movies have been hilarious! They’re always cooking up something new – Improvised Shakespeare coming soon I’ve heard – so it’s a good idea to check their website for current offerings. Good parking. The theatre is comfy and intimate – maybe about 100 or so? movie theater-style seats. Nice place to bring a date or have laughs with some friends. I’ve never once been there and NOT had a great time. SO much fun! Highly recommended.

Their ability to create rich characters and meaningful moments and on top of that make me laugh all from audience suggestions, is what keeps me going back again and again.

I love improv, my husband loves stand-up, and we both like sketch… which is why Highwire gets 5 stars! We can see it all there, sometimes all on the on the same night. More good stuff: the big stage makes for big action, and every seat in the house feels like the best seat in town, I can see the body language up close no matter where we perch. The best for last — it’s great to be able to see local talent on the way up, visiting pros, and the best comedy troupes from across the ATL. Everyone’s welcome, and I’m thinking I’m needing to take a class and try out the stage… they teach improv, and you don’t need acting experience. Everyone made us feel welcome, we’ll keep coming back!

I lived in Chicago for a few years and loved seeing all the comedy shows at Second City, iO, and Annoyance. Since moving to Atlanta, I’ve been looking for a theater to fill my comedy void and found it at Highwire Comedy Co. They have top notch talent there! I can’t wait to see this place blow up.

Highwire Comedy is the Jam! Literally. On Thursday nights, they have an «improv jam» where anyone can get on stage and play right alongside the actors you’ll see in the show later that night. How awesome is that? And the Friday and Saturday night shows are some of the funniest improv shows I’ve seen anywhere. I absolutely love this place.
