Food is always fresh, good, and not expensive. I generally order the 6 pc fish special. The portions are filling and delicious. I would highly recommend them because of their consistency. You can tell they focus on their customers and not just keeping their cost low. I haven’t tried their deserts but they always look good. If you want good quality food at a great price, go to Ikhlas! They sell everything from wings, fish, seafood, salads, and sandwiches. I usually get my food to go. And bring cash, they don’t accept cards.

Food is fresh and fast for it to be made to order. Large quantity for cheap price! This place was recommended to me and I will recommend to others as well! It’s not so much of a hole in the wall as the reviews make it seem.

I love hole in the wall restaurants especially hole in the wall seafood restaurants. Ikhlas is about as good as it gets. EVERYTHING i ordered was absolutely delicious. The hushpuppes were the bomb as were the onion rings. I ordered a large order and it was a giant order!!! I got the talapia with big whopping sides of potato salad and excellent cole slaw. I went to the one of Fairburn Road and this particular location takes debit/credit cards. It’s been a couple of days since i ate here and i am still salivating over how good it was. You cant go wrong by going here.

I’m talking better than Bankhead Seafood ! Not expensive, I’ve found a fresh fish –drop in — take home great fried seafood place. This is not Papadeaux — my favorite at a cost. But right behind them in flavor, freshness and far better on price. You must try the coleslaw — but by the family siza. One trip per week and enough for reheats for 4 days. That’s how I Roll…13 shrimp battered /fried for $ 10 — a bargain and delicious. Can’t wait to become a repeat customer

This restaurant is not all the good on looks. Located in East Point in a not so good of town this place makes up for the appearance with the awesome taste of the food. I have been coming to this restaurant as a little boy and still coming now. Besides the fact that this restaurant is owned by my auntie and has been a family place to gather the taste of the good has grown to new heights. Most of the menu is sea food with a few chicken items. Depending on what you can get can determine how expensive it is. I personal always get the T-7. It’s two shrimp, two oysters, two fish, two chicken tenders, French fries and two hush puppies. Most of the orders come with her special recipe tar tar sauce, cocktail sauce and a type of BBQ/hot sauce blend. Tastes amazing and I get to get a little of everything. The food can be a little greasy so if your a health nut this may not be your forte but I’m sure they have something on the menu to cater to everyone. This place is also a Muslim owned business so all the food is Halal and cleaned and cooked to Islamic standards. To keep up with the franchised competition they have created their own sort of «dollar menu» with several small meals under 5 and 6 dollars. They don’t have a working ATM so all orders will have to be done in cash or you will have to use your credit or debit card. They have a small store connected to it where you can shop for odds and ends and you will always find the DVD guy somewhere nearby looking to shoot off a bootleg to the willing. The only downside to this place is that they cook all food to order and fresh so you can wait anywhere from 15 – 30 minutes for your food depending on the size of your order. If your familiar with the menu I recommend calling in your order before you even get there. They opened up two locations before. There was one located further up sylvan road… which was not open long and another location located near for McPherson which is still open. The food at this location is just as equally good but lacks that homegrown hole in the wall feeling if that’s what your looking for. Ikhlas will definitely be around a long long time and if they decide to expand and upgrade to a little more modern effect they will do great and be a force to reckon with on the«mom and pop«level of restaurant owning.

Dont order the poboy sandwich. Today, I stopped by got the shrimp po boy. There were all of 4 shimp on the sandwich, 2 pounds of lettuce and shredded cheese just thrown on top; not melted, heated or anything The hot sauce was given to me in a cup, with dried hot sauce around the entire cup. Not a good look since my other review was kinda good. Saddens me that a week ago, I thought they were a go to… but I guess the lunch crowd had them just a little thrown off.

As I work on Ft McPherson(as Wallace said with the razor wire) this place is very fast for me to get to. The looks aren’t that appealing but the food is amazing. I’ve had Angus burgers and fish and the portions are big enough for two. Good thing they come packaged for take away already! The desserts are also great. If they would spend 30 minutes extra per day on curb appeal, this place could easily be five stars.

While Iklhas may not be big on looks, it is big on taste. Though I’m not a fish fan, every one fo my friends i’ve taken to this place have LOVED it. I will regularly enjoy one of their absolutely delicious shrimp po’boys, but you can’t go wrong with the friend shrimp or chicken wings either! For the truly hungry at heart, try to seafood combo

A friend introduced me to this place last year and now it’s the only place in Atlanta where I’ll eat fried fish. If you have not done so already, break away from the crap-tacular fish filets at Captain D’s and Long John Silver’s and try *real* food at Ikhlas. Pros: Food — The fish dinners are delicious, reasonably priced and come with hushpuppies, cole-slaw and fries. I’ll agree with Wallace S. and say that the frying technique contributes to the great taste. Also, the desserts are made from scratch and I’m a sucker for strawberry cake of any kind. Service: The staff is nice. If you’re a regular they may throw in something extra with your meal. Average wait for my orders was approximately 10 minutes. Décor /Atmosphere: Bright décor and a flat screen TV to watch while you wait for your food. It has a Black Hebrew /Shrine of Black Madonna /healthy living /«Peace my sista» kind-of-feel. Even if that isn’t your thing, the food and the friendliness of the patrons make Ikhlas a nice place to eat. Cons: Location: There isn’t much to look at outside of the restaurant. Additionally, it’s a little out of the way from downtown or the expressway. Out-of-place Menu Items: Buffalo wings and Philly cheesesteaks? I’d expect this from the Food Court at the West End Mall, but not here. Guess the owners are trying to cater to the local clientele. Seems like a downgrade to me. Tips: Closed on Sunday.

Though Ikhlas’s second location lacks the hole-in-the-wall authenticity of the original(and still standing) location. This restaurant has bright colors, a large plasma tv, nice chairs for those waiting on their takeout food, and a patio for dining. Unfortunately, its Oakland City location isn’t great for people watching, though you do get a nice view of the barbed wire fence of the backside of Ft. McPherson. Ikhlas has always been about the fantastic fried(and cheap) fish, and this location doesn’t disappoint. It’s kind of amazing, because it’s not like they have some special seasoning in their breading, or use olive oil to fry. They’ve simply perfected their frying technique so the fish comes out crisp on the outside, moist on the inside, and delicious all around. Things aren’t perfect there though. First, they seem to have cut down their variety of fish(to catfish, whiting, and tilapia), and added things like non-alcoholic daiquiris, hamburgers and Philly cheese steaks. I’ve never tried these items because I’m so addicted to their fish. Second, their tartar sauce tastes like the Sysco-branded stuff, and I’m halfway tempted to bring my own in next time I go. Last, I haven’t seen them stock the ultimate fried fish accessories– a wedge of lemon and a single piece of white bread. One day, I guess, this place will be perfect.
