Grew up coming here. Best halal chicken in Atlanta. I always get the boneless chicken with fries. The fried chicken wings are another favorite that comes with wheat rolls which is a nice bonus. Sis Wafiyyah is like family.

ATL… Did I tell y’all I’ve been coming to this joint since the 90’s. Whaaaat? Yes Ma’am and Yes Sir! Over the years it’s changed a little. They used to have a special tarter sauce that looked like the Special sauce on a Big Mac with tons of pickles. But it was always kind of warm so my daddy tolde to leave it be. The fish has gotten smaller. But the still give you a box full of, lets just call them baby fish :). But It’s cooked perfectly and they are very courteous and kind.

Definitely a hole in the wall in a sketchy neighborhood. As others have said the food is pretty good though. I would have given them four stars but they do occasionally screw up call in orders and run out of some items some days. Over all worth the trip though.

It’s the hole in the wall fried fish place that I’ve missed since moving from Atlanta. There just that seasoning reminiscent of which is Raheim’s on Peyton Rd from over 10 years. I’m sorry I have yet to find a similar place outside Atlanta. Maybe it has to do with the fact its a hole in a wall place that’s been around for 30 years. Either way, I love it. I always order the croaker which is not common fish you find in many fish joints. Just the right seasoning, the breading is not too thick. Their fried shrimp is awesome too. In addition, they have a hot bar which includes oxtails, baked chicken, collard greens, mac & cheese, and other southern favorites. They also have fried and buffalo wings which I haven’t tried. They have other flavors which includes their own sweet and spicy sauce which they sell also I might try one day. Pricing is not bad my croaker dinner which comes with fries, coleslaw, and two hushpuppies was only $ 6.99. The hot bar except the ox tails is about $ 5.00 which includes meat, 1 side, and a soda or 2 sides(no soda). The wait is a bit long(15 – 20 min.) so its best to call ahead if you can. They do except credit cards for purchases $ 10 or more.

I absolutely love this place!!! The second one is not as good as the original. I have been eating here for years and I never get tired of it. The food is cooked to order so it’s always fresh and hot. The desert is also made fresh daily and it’s not expensive at all!

I think I would give 3.5 stars if I could. We tried this place on the recommendation of the SO’s family. It took us FOREVER to get there, even though we live in SW Atlanta. Little did I know,(should’ve checked Unilocal first) that there is a second location like 3 miles from our house. Sheesh. Oh well. So anyway, we go, find out it’s cash only, have to go to the most horrific excuse for a Kroger I’ve ever seen up the street, and come back to finally order our food. I am not a fan of fish and I’m allergic to half the things that live in the ocean, so I ordered one of the few chicken items on the menu — the 4 pc tenders with fries. The SO got the tilapia and shrimp. While waiting for our order, we were able to take in the décor. Very hole-in-the-wall, but clean and lots of plants all around. There were a couple of older men sitting at a table selling President Obama memorabilia and Trayvon Martin shirts, along with CDs, shoes and cologne. I found all of this quite fascinating, because I had never seen anything like it. The big TV was turned to MSNBC, so we were happy catching up on the news and(left-wing) political commentary. I liked this much better than being out in the ‘burbs where the mom and pop places all have it turned to Fox News. It took about 20 minutes for them to make our food. The order came out perfect, with condiments added right into the box along with napkins. I thought my chicken and fries were very good. However, when I was done, I felt like I had just eaten a brick. The whole mess was much saltier and greasier than I am used to, even with fast food. Also, I picked a few bone shards out of my teeth afterward, which really grosses me out. The honey mustard was fabulous and I think it was homemade. SO loved his food. All in all, an interesting experience. I think I would return and maybe try some of their sides next time. There was a spicy rice on the menu that sounded quite delicious!

Great find on southside Atlanta at the gate to Ft McPherson on Cambellton and Venetian. Amazingly good and fresh quick seafood, drive through and attractive indoor and outside local scene

Without a doubt, Ikhlas has the *best fried fish in Atlanta.* Meeting every definition of a hole in the wall, Ikhlas is in an awful neighborhood, looks like crap from the outside(and a lot of the interior areas, though the dining room is fine), and the food is incredible. They have a huge selection of fish, including snapper, catfish, whiting, and flounder, that they fry to order. Every time I’ve been, the fish have come out perfect, crispy, light, and full of flavor. Best as I can tell, they pretty much only fry food there. You get French Fries and hushpuppies with most meals, and their fish«snacks» can feed you for 2 days. The prices are great, and you can order bean pie(or sweet potato and apple pie– but who wants that when bean pie’s around), for a mere $ 6 for the entire pie. I tend not to stray to far from the fish, though they do serve shrimp and chicken wings as well. The business is cash only, and whatever you do, don’t go to the bathroom… It might scare you off from the delicious food! They have another location that might be in a slightly better area, but I tend to stop here whenever I’m close to the airport. * based on my extensive two weeks in town.
