You get what you pay for. Low quality food. Not fresh. If your looking for something that is the same price, go some where else.

I want to be very clear that I rate buffets more leniently when it comes to food quality than non-buffets — buffets are about having the option to have a lot of different things. If Jade Palace were a regular chinese restaurant, this would easily be a 2-star review. And if it were $ 10 or more, it would be 2 stars. But it’s under $ 8 for lunch including tax(without drink). Jade Palace is a pretty run-down place with relatively unfriendly service, but the service is on top of things(drinks are filled and dirty plates removed quickly). The food is very mixed… Fairly Good(nothing is better than fairly good): Spicy Chicken(basically chicken + Jalapenos), Mongolian Beef, Egg Rolls, Chicken Wings, Hot and Sour Soup, Teriyaki Chicken, chicken-on-a-stick. Not good: Sesame chicken, Beef with Broccoli, some small shrimp in tomato sauce dish, and most everything else I tried. I have not tried the sushi as the fish has a gray-ish hue that makes it look pretty dang unappetizing.

I should have read the reviews before going to this place. This was my first time. I was not impressed. The waitress put us in a broken booth near the exit door which was very dangerous. We got the buffet of course. First glance, the food on the bar looked ok. I started with the fried rice and added the sesame seed chicken. It was cold and the chicken tasted old. There was some cut up fried chicken. That was hard and cold too. The only thing I ate was the baked salmon and veggie roll. After that, I lost my appetite. You definitely get what you pay for here. Cheap price, bad food. Not returning.

You get what you pay for i guess. The place looked clean and the staff was prompt but the quality of the food wasn’t that good. We tried the fresh made hibachi and still didn’t leave satisfied. The fried food wasn’t crunchy crisp or hot with the exception of the egg rolls and we stayed long enough for fresh sweet and sour chicken to come out. A lot of fat and soft breading was on the fried meat and the sushi choices were basically all imitation crab meat and cream cheese. Wanted to try somewhere new but won’t be going back.

Pass by this place after trade shows for the past 10 years and this is the first time ever trying it. What was amazing besides the $ 10 dinner price was that had a whole fish deep fried tilapia with the head and tail. I had the whole fish and sashimi– salmon and tuna, green beans stir fried with garlic, broccoli(raw from their Mongolian section), crawfish, fried shrimp and clams with onions and jalapeño peppers. Little plates but worth the trip.

This place is just not that good. But, it’s so bad, I love it. Nothing better than a cheap Chinese buffet.

Their food is good. Great price for the wallet! The restaurant needs a remodel from the outside to give it a more appealing look. Worth trying. They even serve sushi, which is the best part in my opinion. Friendly staff as well!

Food was ok for price. Not a lot the selection on the lunch menu. Hard to get wait staff attention for refill.

Today was a disappointment. Went to this restaurant in 2011, the place was excellent to amazing. Today sadly the mighty has fallen. The hostess was very prompt and had us seated very quickly and had our hot tea to us pretty fast. Sadly that is where the good stuff ends. I took my leave of the table to go fill my plate of yummy food. The first bar you come to on the left side is the sushi bar. The bar had mainly various types of rolls — but that is to be expected. The part I want to complain about here is that it was 85% empty. each plate or selection only at best had 1 or two pieces of the roll left. the more popular stuff was empty. The sushi chef(I think that’s what you call them) was behind the counter making more, but it was like he was either stoned or had no idea what he was doing. He moved very slowly in what he was doing and in the 1.5 hours I was there, he never refilled anything. What striked me as odd was that I said hi to the guy and smiled and he just started at me with the meanest look on his face. Seeing as it looked like I was not going to be able to enjoy any of the sushi, I moved onto the Mongolian BBQ grill section. The chef there was very nice. he was at least smiling when he was cooking and when I said hello. Yes I know this little bar does not have the selection of a mongolian bbq, but for what they did have, the chef overcooked it. The three sauces they had for options were bland. In between all the trips to the buffets, the waitress was prompt at removing the finished dishes. Moving onto the rest of the buffet. The general Chinese items or classic Chinese items. you know the ones you can find everywhere were either cold, dried out, or overcooked. The dessert section. The dessert buffet was pretty good. the cakes were moist and fluffy. They like most had the soft serve machine. These things you generally can’t screw up. It took forever for them to refill our hot tea. and when they did, they just refilled the hot water and didn’t replace the old tea bag. Now I had hot water that tasted bad since it had a slight hint of green tea. It also took forever for the waitress to bring the bill. This would have gotten two stars, but I started to feel ill at the end of the meal.

Not good. The sushi buffet was scary and the tuna nigiri seemed to be made with some sort of jerky on top. Didn’t feel or taste like fresh fish. We were seated in a booth in some sort or terrifying brick cubbyhole adjacent to the buffet. The table we sat at was just a total mess. Yuck, yuck, yuck.

So, I came here with my fiancé for dinner last night and… well, let me give you an honest opinion of this place: Food was not good at all. The sushi tasted like it was left out through lunch and into dinner. I eat chinese food strictly for sesame chicken and although there was a sign that said sesame chicken, I only saw stuffed crab and bacon wrapped shrimp. I was unsure if the beef in the beef and broccoli was actual beef and the broccoli was brown and not green. Steamed, white rice was glossy and crunchy, like it had been left out for hours. not steamed. There was not a dish in this restaurant that looked appealing and as we all know, we eat with our eyes first. Overall, I wish I could go back in time and rethink this choice. We did sit in a cozy booth though.

Food was so bad I didn’t even want to pay for my meal — left hungry. Could barely stomach more than one bite of anything I picked up from the buffet, and finished nothing. I was here at noon on a weekday. Will never go back. Don’t waste your money. 0 stars.

Amazing food. Great selection. Ninja-like wait staff. This is my new favorite place to eat. If you are in town for lunch, then this is the place to go to satisfy even the most picky Chinese food eater.

This place is good! Eff with everyone else says. Lunch buffet close to $ 7.50 after tax, Dinner a tad bit over $ 10. Selections from sushi, noodles, fried scrimp, general tso’s, crab legs, wings, desert, and all kinda stuff I cant think of from the top of the dome.. I wolfed down that seafood crab and seafood mix with cheese. Official. I kinda slept on this place for years but no wonder this place is always packed no matter the time of the day you go. They got portions(of course because its a buffet) but even if you don’t order from the buffet, they hold down the plate with no stingyness. My food was fresh, not sure what the other Unilocalers are crying about. Grade: B

I’ve been coming to Jade Palace for almost 10 years, from time to time. For the first few years, it was unimpressive but some items were good enough to keep Me coming back for more. Good location helped that too. A few years ago, they underwent a remodel of their buffet & bathroom area, and I am pleased with the result. It was a welcome improvement. They change-up buffet offerings from time to time. Some items are so-so and others are yumlicious, but even frequenters are met with variety sometimes. Presently they offer wakimi(sp) salad to accompany their 30 plus item sushi bar. I love sushi. The size of their buffet sushi selection trumps all others in the area. If you’re worried it may go stale — don’t. You will see 1 – 2 sushi chef’s actively making the sushi behind the counter when you visit that side of the buffet. Besides, the actual raw fish items are few and far between. It’s largely vegetable, tempura, carb, and imitation crabmeat based. They offer a moderate to large size buffet with an impressive array of items from which to choose. They frequently refresh it. They also have a Mongolian BBQ station(hibachi grill?) where you can pick out your favorite ingredients and have them cook it for you.(don’t forget to tip if you stay for the show) What I do not like is the attitude and vibe I frequently feel from the employee’s. Once, I was chastised for sticking one small cookie to accent the soft-serve in My styrofoam ice cream cup(when exiting). Relax, It’s not like I stuffed it full of shrimp and or refused to pay. They should not be so quick to criticize a loyal customer of something so silly!(I didn’t visit for a year or so after that incident) The staff is curt, efficient, and expedient. However, they’re not friendly. I often see the employee’s conversing in their native tongue while giggling, and I wonder«if I knew Cantonese/Mandarin might I be insulted?» It sure seemed as if they were discussing guests. It doesn’t matter which language you speak, rude is just rude. I’ve observed this attitude 8⁄10 times I’ve visited. — If you are a hungry sushi fanatic, this is heaven for you. Enjoy! — If you like local flair with a variety of Chinese foods to choose from, come on(and ask for one of the booths immediately surrounding the buffet, you’ll see what I mean)! — If you’re looking for a romantic night out, skip it. — Casual date with someone who loves a lot of a variety of food, try it. — Got an hour-or-so lunch break and are starved, go for it. — If you are at all concerned with quality of service over the food selection, skip it. — Looking for take-out? You can find better elsewhere, it’s pretty unremarkable here. Jade Palace has a couple of separated dining areas including a banquet room for guests. In one room you will stuff your face completely distracted by the large televisions they have placed on each end of it(usually airing CNN though) there’s also a big built-in fish tank for a scuba-while-you-binge experience. You will see that there’s outdoor patio dining space, but that they keep it sealed off(I guess so that guests wont spider-man themselves over that large fence in attempt to avoid paying). The other dining space are the booths that surround the buffet area. Each booth offers a different theme(old south, tree house, jungle, art deco etc) The walls of these interesting booths are covered with graffiti from past patrons. I personally enjoy it, and I’m glad that they weren’t replaced in the renovation. Part of the fun of asking to be sat at a buffet booth is wondering which one you’ll get. Perhaps you’ll write your own experience on one of their walls :-) There’s a salad bar, soup bar, sushi bar, hibachi mongolian grill, plenty of hot items and seafood, soft serve ice cream, and fruits, jello’s and puddings for dessert. Last time I visited, they offered flan too. I was delighted. All this for about $ 7 for lunch(not including tip or drink).

Went here for lunch… twice! The price is right! $ 7.41 including tax Typical Chinese buffet quality. Nothing tastes horrible. The pork dumplings are actually GOOD! The best I ever had from a Chinese buffet. Some other mystery meat next to the lo mein — also tasty. It kinda of tastes like real Chinese food — a smidgen. The water is cold. They are on top of things for removing soiled plates. Probably not worth driving across town for, but if your nearby — worth a shot.

I was looking forward to coming to the Jade Palace because when I lived in Atlanta before, I remember when it opened and I had good memories of the place. The Mongolian BBQ was good and the staff friendly. I had a good experience with the manager of the restaurant then and it left an impression with me. I returned to Atlanta this week and stopped by for dinner. Not sure why I didn’t start with the Mongolian BBQ — instead I went to the buffet part. I started on one end and thought there were many things I wouldn’t be eating. One tray had whole tilapia fish. Whole fish — just grilled. Head, body, fins, tail– just grill marks. I wouldn’t have known how to even eat it. Then I saw little squids or octopus in a tray, one of crawfish, some shrimp which looked skeptical. I stuck to the basics — friend rice, egg roll, wantons, beef & broccoli, something that was General Tso, but really didn’t taste like it and other things I really wouldn’t prefer to eat if I had better options. The place was packed too. I sat in the dining room on the right and most of the tables were taken up. Very diverse customers and most seemed to be enjoying it, so maybe I was just picky. The place was hot too — the AC wasn’t on and with all of those people in there it was a bit hot and musty. I didn’t stick around for Mongolian BBQ, desert or sushi. I was ready to just pack it up and go home disappointed. The buffet and a soda was over $ 11. Not worth it. The place used to be good, but has went sharply downhill. Yuck!
