Time to update my review of this wonderful gem. Came here today and also last Friday for my going away lunch. I believe I’ve eaten here more than anybody, at least a good 300+ times. Here’s the rundown: No free parking for this place but a parking deck is attached to it. If you’re eating here, it’s either bc you work«just around the corner», you’re attending an event close by or you’re a tourist. It’s not exactly a destination spot(unless you’re me) but it’s one you don’t want to miss if you love burgers and are downtown. It’s located on the corner of Marietta and spring street, and very convenient to CNN center, ga aquarium, Philips arena, world of coke, congress center and world of coke. They are largely sponsored by coke, and have outdoor seating under an awning. There are around 3 tables outside and only ledge seating inside. I’d guess about 12 stools total. It’s not for large group seating, and id suggest ordering ahead. There is always a nice breeze on this corner. By all means, this place is very divey but it grows on you. I’ve accepted their credit card machine being down so many times, bc they always treat me well and go by the honor system with me when I don’t have cash. In fact, in all my years going here, the service has always been stellar. The owners are nice, even though I can’t make out all his English at times. They don’t have a bathroom, and it is very tight inside. Why you should come here, besides the service? Their burger is amazing, the special sauce they put on it is amazing. Every time I’ve ordered the classic burger, it has ALWAYS tasted the same which is … You guessed it … AMAZING! Folks, that’s a span of 8 yrs getting the same burger. Think about that and times when you order the same dish from a place and it doesn’t taste as good as the last. This place always satisfies. Their burger rivals any place that says they serve the best, and it’s all bc of their fresh ingredients and special sauce. I’d also recommend the chikiyaki and big bird. The French fries can be hit or miss, depending on if they season them(yum) or not as much. Sure, they probably fry them in the same batch of oil as the fish so you might, on certain days, taste that. Overall, it’s a complete downtown Atlanta experience. It’s hard to find places like this in Atlanta. A must try, and get their burger! Your stomach will be happy and your sense of taste will be appeased!

Service is great and burgers are too. But the cheesesteak was the best I’ve had in years. I’ll be having that every time from now on. Nice guys run the place and they remember you. Yes it’s a dive, but great food and reasonable prices mean more, especially when the people working there are nice and care about what they are doing.

This is an excellent quick stop for a good burger and fries. Well seasoned, excellent dive vibe and affordable menu. I’ll be back.

Absolutely love this place. It’s such a gem and the fries are amazingly delicious. Great people and great food. Couldn’t ask for too much more

Friendly staff but subpar food on my order. I got a chicken salad sandwich and have never been so disappointed with chicken salad. Not good at all. Dry bread and tasteless meat. Currently also feeling a bit queazy as well… Food poisoning would not fair well for my vote.

Be prepared for two things:(1) the place is a dive, and(2) it serves up one of the best burgers you’ll ever have. I’m not sure what they use to season these burgers, or what exactly is in that special sauce, but it all blends together to make up an awesome burger. The staff are quick and professional, so you should have your meal within just a few minutes. There’s a bit of seating inside — maybe six stools — and a couple tables outside under the awning. Good side options in addition to the fries, too — you can grab onion rings, fresh fruit, a couple salad options, etc. Go for it!

Burger and fries was good and fresh. Service was good, store was clean. Free refills. Def will try again if I’m back in the area.

Get a cheeseburger and fries, and don’t deviate from that. You will end up happy, greasy, and full. Look, there’s no denying it — this place is a dive. It’s too hot, cramped, and in a weird location. But their burgers are the bomb. Don’t get anything else, because the burgers are where it’s at. Get a Coke, too. MMM…

I’ve passed this place several times as I venture on lunch breaks. I finally decided to give it a try. I ordered the bacon cheeseburger. It was great! the service was good, and I got my food within ten minutes after ordering.

Just Around The Corner is nothing fancy ATALL. There is limited seating so it’d be best for takeout. This place is great! We were actually on our way to JR Crickets for wings after the game but glad we stopped here. Thought it was in a weird spot at first but it’s surrounded by a ton of businesses which calls for a really busy lunch rush. We asked the cook what are they known for and he quickly replied«the grilled onion and provolone burger». So of course we opted for the burger, wings and fries. Glad we did! Wings are fresh– not frozen. Everything is cooked to order. We got lemon pepper and regular hot wings. Crispy, flavorful and perfectly seasoned. Try them!

Great lil spot downtown across from the Omni. I got the bacon cheese burger. Amazing! Fries were great, everything was great. I noticed people get the turkey burgers as well, they are frozen, but I watched the guy eat it faster than me. So I guess it was good. IF you’re stickler for cleanness, this is not the place for you. But the 91 on the Food Inspection was good for me. Happy Dinning. It’s very small, about 12 seats.

I have to say that I’m somewhat surprised that this place got as low reviews as it has. I came to GA from California, and this was probably one of my favorite eateries in the downtown ATL locale. I’ll start with the strengths. First of all, the food is fresh and isn’t made until you order. The burgers were juicy, hot and fresh, and the vegetables were crisp, not wilted. I like the variety of side dishes that you can get –you aren’t locked into fries. I got the potato salad a couple times in my 3 visits there over the week. Everything is cooked very quickly as well. The times I went were in the evening so I generally avoided the lunch rush. As such, they had 3 orders together in about 6 – 8 minutes. The staff was very friendly, and I felt like a valued customer each time I went. My only qualm is the atmosphere itself. The interior of this place is painstakingly stuffy and small. Some air conditioning would have been really nice. I’d definitely stop by again if I’m ever in the area.

Apparently the staff here thinks it’s okay to discriminate against new customers and just make up prices for things as they go along. After waiting in line for a while I finally order and notice I’m being charged $ 1 more for my fries than the guy in front of me. When I asked why I am told«oh, he comes here a lot». I just started working downtown and probably would have made this a weekly or biweekly stop but now you are added to my boycott list. Completely unprofessional and unacceptable!

I have been at this location afew times. The place is located on the aide of a parking deck near the CNN center. The place is usually packed during a basketball game or football. I had there cheeseburger, wraps and chicken fingers. All the food is cooked to order and take some time. The place is some what clean and have out door seating in the spring or summer time.

Great for burger and fries. It takes a little bit to get the food but everything is made to order. Definately better than fast food!

Spent a Saturday at the GWCC. Every place around was packed. So I wandered a little further away in hopes of finding a little quite and un-chainy. Bang, just what I was looking for. I had the cheese steak with green peppers and onions, fries and a Sprite. Newspapers were there to read which I did. The cheese steak was cooked perfect, just the right crispiness(good meat) on the meat and the bread toasted nice. Fries were great also and the cook asked if I wanted salt before he added. Staff was friendly we all got talking about college football. Friendly environment! I would recommend.

This is kind of a weird spot that I ended up at for dinner on my way to Phillips to catch the circus. The service was ok I suppose. They wanted to talk through my entire meal which is ok, but a little different. Got the Philly with onions and mushrooms. To me it was a perfectly average sandwich. Nothing amazing, but not inedible. I got the onion rings as my side. Not good. I think they were cooked in the same oil that they cook the fish in because the rings had a kind of fishy taste which is gross. I doubt I’ll be back to this place.

I always thought Just Around the Corner was a trailer on wheels, like an Italian ice mobile, but upon closer inspection today, I realized this is a stationary restaurant. I guess the outdoor awning supported by poles and flimsy glass walls are what gave me the street food impression. Today I moseyed toward the intersection of Spring and Marietta, across from the Glenn Hotel, ducking under the«side porch» and in the door. The staff member who took my order said the Big Daddy Double Cheeseburger and Chikiyaki sandwich are the most popular menu items, but neither of those options sounded appetizing to me, so I chose the Lady Day instead. Two scoops of chicken salad were pressed between two pieces of toasted wheat bread, topped with pickles, iceberg lettuce shreds and fresh tomato. The chicken chunks contained the occasional almond sliver and parsley flake. Instead of $ 6.21, I think the sandwich was worth $ 5 at the most. I noticed an ice cream cart with waffle cones shoved in the corner, too. Even though this establishment is just around the corner from my office, I’ll walk farther for lunch next time.

Tired of all the expensive options for a quick lunch inbetween work? Then this is def it for you! It was the only convenient spot for me from my office. and they were always super quick! The burgers were nothing impressive, and really nothing even worth mentioning at all… They were just, average I suppose you could say. Many of the sides I wanted, they were always out of for the day. what the? Why do you advertise them day after day if you never have them? My gyro was pretty good though! :o) Given the limited options for a quick inexpensive lunch bite in this area, its worth the go around.

Street meat! Just Around the Corner is rare for Atlanta, because basically it’s a New York bodega on a downtown corner. They somehow make a pretty decent burger and fries. And they make it FAST. The«dining area» is so so small. But the burgers are big and juicy and made with high quality beef. You can watch the proprietors cook your patty to order — while you try not to crowd the patrons standing behind or in front of you. Soft drinks are self-serve from a fountain — or bottles from a fridge. Fries come in a brown paper bag. Excellent taste and«crisp factor.» This tasty food’s well worth the money and it’s good to support an authentic non-corporate local burger joint.
