I have heard about this place from a few friends so I decided to try it out. We went with another couple on a weeknight and walked in at 6:30. I should have known what I was in for when the restaurant was not even half full. We sat down and ordered our food. Most of it came pretty quickly but part of our order never showed up. Our waitress was extremely un-attentive so it took us awhile to get her attention. She then apologized and said she forgot to put the order in… it was written on the same piece of paper as the rest of the food! There was another issue with our server where she told us we couldn’t get sashimi for the 50% off. Turns out she was wrong when another waiter told us the truth. She then came over and half apologized then tried to blame US for her mistake! Needless to say, service here gets 1 star. The food was not very good either and some of the rolls we ordered looked NOTHING like the picture on the menu. Additionally, it might not be food poisoning but I was not feeling well at all the next day. Lastly, the 50% off is a gimmick since its 7 days a week. Just change the menu prices to what things actually cost. It is obvious that at those prices, you are not eating as high quality of food as other places. Its simple economics. Prices might be good but food quality and service were not so I will not be returning here, nor would I recommend it to someone.

A full house on a Wednesday night is a good sign for any restaurant. We arrive at 8 pm with a party of 4 and had to wait about 5 minutes for a table. Promptly seated, we ordered hot Sake, a Cosmos & beer by the bottle(no draft available). The Cosmo was served in a short whiskey glass, which was quite odd, and it wasn’t made very well. There was way too much cranberry. The vegan options were minimal, but grateful that there was something, as ¾ of our party goes sans flesh. We ordered 3 avocado rolls, 2 cucumber rolls, 2 vegetable rolls, miso soups and salad. Yay for the Avocado rolls! One of three vegan options available, and the clear winner. Very creamy and perfectly ripe. The ½ price special is very gimmicky, as there is a huge poster in the dining room stating«Half Price Specials from Monday-Sunday.» It didn’t feel very special, but with the discount, the rolls came to about $ 3 each, which is priced more in line with Ru Sans. Quality-wise, I prefer Ru Sans, and they certainly have more vegan/vegetarian options to choose from. Not too bad if you’re in the area and a craving arises.

Horrible sushi. Anyone who knows quality fish will never eat here. The tuna tataki was awful and the rolls I ordered barely had any fish inside them. Never again!

Reusing fish on Buffett.: I’ve been to this place several times for dinner and the food was good. Today was my first time at the buffet and unfortunately what I saw has forever scarred my opinion about this place… Buffet ends at 230. I arrived at 2 … The sushi had been out for a while and was not very good; however, I can’t complain about that. It’s understandable given the timing. HOWEVER, after last call for buffet, I saw the sushi chefs pick up the plates of Nigiri, take the fish off the rice, and put the fish back on ice! I was sitting at the end of the sushi bar so I suppose they didn’t think I could see(or maybe they didn’t care). To make matters worse, he did this with his bare hands, no gloves!!! This is a sad review. I liked this place but I will never trust its cleanliness now.

I have high standards for sushi(if I’m going to eat anything with a ton of rice in it — thereby submitting myself to a whole lot of shade from my trainer the next time I see him — it better be worth it). Kiku’s sushi was… mediocre — not bad, but not the best I’ve ever had. I don’t even remember the rolls we ordered, to be honest, and the miso soup really peeved me — it was basically broth with a few mushrooms floating around, no tofu at all. Would I come back? Yes, if I were starving and there weren’t anything else around.

I came here with my girlfriend and two others. We came here for the half off rolls for dinner. Solid sushi, especially for the price. The quantity was standard. The menu recycled the same ingredients, so lacked variety, but overall quite good. The volcano roll was on the salty side, but the spider roll and hot night rolls were great. The yellow tail rolls were fresh as well. Would come again, especially due to the price.

1st, service was lacking, I waited at the hostess stand for a few minutes and finally sat myself. Then awhile later someone asks me if I sat myself and moves me. Once seated in the waiters section, service was slow. Cucumber salad was supper plain, I mean can I get some carrot strings or something else in that extra large bowl. The rolls were not that good either, I’ve had better cheap sushi from publix and kroger. Don’t let the half price special fool you, keep it moving. The original prices are inflated and the roll size is small. Never again.

Great sushi and an awesome price. Had an opportunity to check this place out last night and it was well worth it, especially if you have an appetite. 50% off and great sushi isn’t a commonly thing. Usually inexpensive sushi doesn’t taste great at times. But this place does it right. Coming from Miami my tab would have easily been over $ 100. Try the Lobster Rolls ! Great. Along with the Salmon, Buckhead Roll… Their sushi pieces were fresh.

I recently visited the Kiku in Buckhead prior to attending an event at nearby Vine & Tap. The restaurant is your typical decent sushi place – not extraordinary but not horrible either. The restaurant offers half-priced sushi in the evening which is attractive, especially when trying out a place for the first time. I ordered a ginger salad, a hot night roll and a grace roll because I can’t get enough tuna in my life. The ginger salad was standard but good because I’m obsessed with ginger dressing. The rolls came pretty quickly after we ordered and I was a fan of both. The grace roll has jalapenos, so it definitely opened up my sinuses; and the hot night roll included shrimp tempura and spicy mayo, always a good combination. Again, not spectacular but enjoyable. The only real downside was the service. The food quickly arrived once we were able to order, but it was hard to track down the waitress and the restaurant wasn’t even that busy. Since we were on a tight timeline, the wait was disappointing.

Decent sushi at a great price. Arrived around 7 pm in a Tuesday night. just a few tables were occupied so there was was no wait. We were greeted by a really friend waitress and she seated us right away. Funny how a read a few reviews saying it’s horrible service. My husband and I thought everyone was great. My husband knew nothing about the reviews since he’s not a Unilocaler and I never say anything to him about them because I like to hear his natural experience without any influence of reviewers. Well he went on and on how nice everyone was. We ordered 7 different rolls because we were really hungry. who am I kidding we’re always really hungry. It’s not best and freshest sushi, but really what to expect for $ 3.38 for a salmon sushi roll. But it’s fine and something to satisfy your sushi craving without spending over a $ 100. Total bill or 7 rolls and 2 beverages was $ 44.99 not including tip.

This is the place that turned me into a sushi lover and Flaming Joy is the roll that did it. Every time I go to Kiku’s I order one and every time I leave satisfied. So good. Right next door there’s a restaurant called Roaster’s that serves these delicious cornbread muffins. Whenever I come I usually end up stopping in there first so I can have cornbread with my sushi. Great combination.

Where have I been!!! Sushi buffet?! I am sold. This is THE sushi spot for all of my sushi cravings. They serve my beloved crawfish tempura roll that I have missed terribly from my favorite spot back in Birmingham, AL. Score.

«If your reviews are sounding like essays, start a blog. I can’t read your life story on my phone before ordering from the menu.» [Time & Date of visit]: Weeknight Around 7pm. [Party Size]: 2 [Location/Ambiance]: I’ve visited around lunch time when they have a lunch buffet quite a few times but never reviewed. I feel like that keeps the place pretty busy for that time duration. Though for dinners, there were maybe 4 other tables and a couple at the bar. Seems like the place dies down quite a bit for dinner time. [Service]: Lunch seems to be attentive. Dinner… eh…more like hardly any, except when taking orders and serving the food. I don’t think even once we even got a water refill. [Food Highlights]: For dine in only, sushi + rolls are half off. I’m not too sure about getting the sashimi as some rolls didn’t taste exceedingly fresh. As we stuck mainly with cooked rolls. While the server brought out the food, he did not explain which rolls were which exactly. So I’ll just have to review the ones that I visually remember. Seaweed Salad — Though it’s a decent size portion for two, it’s missing something. All I could think was, Super H mart has prepackaged ones that tasted better. Spider roll — 5 pieces — The end cuts were a lot wider than I was hoping for. Nothing standing out too much or any distinct taste with the soft shell crab. A little bare on it though. Meh. Dragon Roll — 7 – 8 pieces — My staple roll to order, as I’m very fond of bbq eel. But, I’m not really excited for this one too much. Good cuts of eel on each roll, but just wasn’t really wowed by the flavors. Super Alaskan Roll — 8 pieces — Though my bestest did ask for no cream cheese and if anything could be substituted,(even more veggies, really, anything. Hell even put more rice!) our server informed us that add anything«extra» would constitute an additional $ 2 charge,(I wonder if it that charge would be half off though, ahhh!) regardless what the«extra» was. I’m not a fan of cream cheese on sushi, but I’ll slather it on my bagel. The avocado was really lacking tonight. Salmon wasn’t on point with the freshness. Just decent enough. Flaming Joy Roll — Not wowed by this roll either. Very heavily drenched in sauce. So-So. Lenox Roll — I can’t remember much about this roll. So I guess that concludes that, not good enough to remember. [Total Bill & Tax]: 43.90 {Summary}: I feel like if you have just graduated up from Ru-Sans or the like, Kiku would be the next stop, before you leap to a better sushi restaurant with much more fresh seafood. I feel the value might still be with the lunch buffet. But even with it being half off for dinner, just fill up on the cooked stuff. Nothing really memorable to want me to go back for more.

A pretty good half priced sushi place. They apparently have a lunch buffet that’s cheap and good but I haven’t had it yet. The roll selection is pretty good for a half price place. The place is pretty large and designed like your typical sushi restaurant. The staff were friendly enough and pretty informal. I would recommend this for a cheaper sushi option.

I think it’s safe to say that no one is going to have the best sushi of their lives here. But, for the selection that the buffet provides and for the affordable price, it’s hard to beat Kiku if you’re looking for a bargain. I’ve gone here multiple times with coworkers while I’m in the Buckhead area. It’s hard not to over eat, but who minds doing that while having sushi??? Go here if you want relatively decent sushi for a bargain price.

It was a very decent lunch buffet, and it seemed a pretty good value. I mean sure, it’s a buffet, and things are prepared with an eye on that kind of economizing(read: some of the things are small). But everything we had was tasty. Kiku provided plenty of selections on their lunch buffet. In addition to sushi, there were other Asian-influenced foods, and a small dessert selection. Finding the buffet was unexpected. The buffet itself was exactly what I expected. And I was happy for that. Staff knows how to hustle here. They get a steady stream of folks for their lunch crowd. And this Kiku gives half-off specials in the evenings for dinner. Either way, they totally satisfied my sushi cravings, and I will happily return for more.

Sushi was pretty good. Had the red dragon roll and some nigiri. Service was abysmal. They took forever to take our order and never checked on us. They were also out of ¾ths of their deserts. Probably won’t be back.

If you have high standards for sushi and only want to eat the finest-quality, authentically-Japanese, and most beautifully sliced and arranged sushi and/or rolls, you can stop reading the reviews for Sushi Kiku now and search elsewhere. However, if you are in the mood for cheap, decent-quality and fairly tasty sushi and rolls, Kiku may be exactly what you are looking for. Kiku offers half-price sushi and rolls for dinner every single day(dine-in only). Some may argue that the«regular» menu price for the sushi and rolls are already«double» the price of similar sushi restaurants, but my husband(who absolutely loves sushi and seems to know his stuff about it) disagrees. He says that the menu pricing for the sushi and rolls is pretty standard, so the half-price special is a great deal. When we are craving sushi but don’t really want to spend big bucks on it, Kiku is our go-to place. My favorite rolls are the Spider Roll(soft-shell crab) and Volcano Roll(topped with a mixture of scallops, sauteed vegetables, and roe). I have to admit, the sauteed veggies that top the Volcano Roll remind me of Chinese stir-fry, and the roll is not like any other Volcano Roll I have had, but it’s a decent roll. The Spicy Tuna Roll is pretty standard but also good. I’m not a fan of nigiri(pressed sushi rice topped with raw seafood) so I haven’t had it myself. However, with the understanding that the seafood served here isn’t the best quality, I would suggest that you primarily stick with the cooked sushi rolls or those that have a very minimal amount of raw seafood. Overall, Sushi Kiku gets 3.5 stars for their good, value-priced sushi and rolls. On average, service has been«A-OK» as well — not the friendliest of employees but certainly not rude, and the food is served in a reasonable amount of time. My husband and I are aware that Kiku offers a lunch buffet, but we have not yet had the opportunity to try it. I will be sure to update my review when we do but in the meantime, we will continue to come here to satisfy our«cheap sushi» cravings.
