Want real tacos for a real price? Then skip «Taqueria» del Sol, and hit up this place. $ 1.50 tacos right next door without the ridiculously unwarranted line of Del Sol. They have fantastic tortas which I urge you to get creative with. There is also a small selection of Mexican menu staple entrees, such as enchiladas. The taco meat selection is nice. About 8 varieties ranging from standard barbacoa to Lengua (tongue). I highly recommend the Al Pastor. I also overheard the cook telling a customer that she had Menudo (not my thing) and goat meat. Neither of which are on the menu. If you are white and unaccustomed to this environment, I challenge you to overcome your discomfort. You won’t regret it. You might catch a passing glance, but the women in the kitchen are generally friendly. The place is kind of rundown (as is typical for these places) but the kitchen appears clean. Just think, you can have a filling lunch for $ 5 or less.

Okay, let me start by saying I am a frequent consumer of Taqueria del sol and I find their food quite amazing as simple as it is. I am a native from Los Angeles so I love tacos, especially Street tacos and baby… When I tell you these are some of thee best tacos I’ve ever had!!! These are larger street tacos than I’m accustomed to but delicious nonetheless. I ordered the pollo, carnita and al pastor. Man. Flavor overload. Fresh ingredients, seasoned to perfection. It’s located inside the back of a Mercado and it really is a hidden gem. I’m sorry I didn’t take any pics but I was starving. Sue me!!!
Just take my advice… GO HERE!!! GET TACOS!!! GET FULL!!! GET HAPPY!!! My 3 tacos cost $ 4.50 (keep in mind if you’re using a card, there’s a $ 5 minimum) and they really filled me up. Service wasn’t super friendly but I can sort of understand that when someone unfamiliar comes in… I guess *rolls eyes* Mon — Fri they close at 7pm and on Sat and Sun they close at 6pm

Every time I’ve been to this place, I’ve been the only gringa in the joint. I take that as a good sign. The tacos are incredible and authentic.
