Metropolitan Dermatologic Surgery

I had to wait so long for a scheduled time that I left and canceled my appointment. Additionally, I was scheduled to see a PA instead of the doctor. I will not be returning.

When visiting this office I recommend only agreeing to treatment by the doctors. Recently I was treated by a medical assistant or nurse and she removed a darkened area on the skin upper back of the thigh., she biopsieD it, and removed most of it. Unfortunately it became so painful afterward I was forced to go to urgent care as I was on the way to work and could not go to the drs office. The dr. said it was infected and prescribed an antibiotic and neosporin. It continued to be so painful I could not sit. I returned to Metropolitan Derm for further consultation and the doctor asked the nurse to cover it. The pain continued and continued, for several more days. I went to my dr. An internist, who explained the importance of keeping it carefully covered and showed ways to do this effectively. Finally it healed taking two weeks of fairly intensive pain. It seemed to me that the instructions for care after removing a chunk of skin initially were inadequate causing the subsequent infection and ongoing pain. The second visit to this office was also unhelpful. When I wrote a letter disputing the charge for the second visit and relating reasons why I felt the care was inadequate, no one responded. I sent the letter to Dr. Kim and the office manager. It was not hostile but discussed the reasons I was concerned about the care. I recommend this office only if you receive care from the doctors for the above reasons. The drs here, Dr. Kim and Dr. Papadopolous are wonderful

I was extremely happy with the care I received from the staff at Metro Derm. I was hesitant coming from a negative experience with another Dermatologists office. (That office wanted me to wait 3 months to have a basal skin cancer lesion removed!) I have had excellent care in the St. Louis area so I feel my standards are high. Dr. Kim performed MOHS Surgery to remove skin cancer and did a great job. Great service, minimal wait time, quick recovery and minimal scarring. I highly recommend both of the surgeons in this office. They are very well educated at the best Universities and highly trained and skilled. The nurses are sensitive to your needs and are empathetic. You can feel confident in a situation where you could potentially feel devastated. Good luck!

I needed to counter the bad review I gave for another dermatologist. This office was everything the other was not. Clean, professional and friendly. I saw Dr. Papadopoulos and he was fantastic. Gentle, professional and assuring. He did a full body scan and found one area in need of a biopsy, which was later found to be nothing and has since gone away. I inquired about cosmetic procedures and he rolled his eyes and said I was too young to even worry about that yet. I find that refreshing, fatherly, and very uncharacteristic of today’s «up-​sell!!» marketplace.
