My go-to for fast Mexican is usually Chipotle, but Moe’s sent me a coupon in the mail so I decided to try them out. I decided to try out the steak salad. Very interesting. I have never seen cucumber on a Mexican salad of this type. Overall, I thought that the salad was a good size and the taste was OK. It’s not something that I feel the need to order again. Was not a fan of the tortilla bowl, but I rarely eat them anyway. Service was quick. Not alot of parking in the front/side, but I think they have parking rights elsewhere(like Rite Aid).

Since when do you not get chips with your order? I got something to go and didn’t even realize til I left and opened it up to eat that there were no chips. Why would I have ordered queso and guacamole if I wasn’t getting chips? And now it’s too late for me to go back.

Food tasted old and was cold restaurant wasn’t clean the booths are an accident waiting to happen due to not being secured to the wall or floor. Employees entertaining personal guest. I won’t go back to this location

This is a review on this Moe’s location. Whether you like Moe’s food or not is a different story. I realize that I do. If you’ve had a bad experience at a Moe’s before I’d urge you to try this location. These people are always super friendly, professional and take pride in their work. Unlike most Chipotle employees, they actually know how to properly portion and more importantly how to actually roll a perfect burrito. And the quality of food here is better than any Moe’s I’ve been to before. I come here at least once a week and its always the same smiling professionals greeting me: «Welcome to Moe’s!»

So i’m driving along and think, «Moe’s wouldn’t be a bad stop. I haven’t eaten there in a long time.» Here’s the review as to why it will most likely be a long time again. The pros: 1. Right off of Ponce with plenty of parking in the lot and across the street. 2. Monday is $ 5 burrito day. That’s for any burrito. A great price for a what is ultimately a filling meal. It’s made right in front of you too. 3. Nice and spacious. Friendly staff. Very clean. Plenty of options for soft drinks and now they have five sauces for your food. The cons: 1. Bland. Bland. Bland. Just a bland burrito in general. The only way to bring some flavor to it was to drench it in some form of sauce. It really felt like I was chewing up some bland food in a soft cardboard shell. It just was not tasty at all. 2. The sauces say all-natural but really have some type of weird aftertaste. Definitely not what I would consider to be fresh. Their cranberry-lime sauce is way too sweet. It’s really just syrupy in regards to the taste and texture. The chips were also a little stale. I would sum it up to say that Moe’s seems to have become the Subway of the burrito world. They used to be pretty good but now it defines the meaning of fast food. I gave it a shot, filled my stomach, but not with a quality product. Next time I’ll take the extra drive along the way and go to El Myr. From what I remember Willy’s is also much better.

Went here for the $ 5.55 Mondays and had the Moe’s FreeStyle Coke Original: Orange Vanilla. Two people: Guac, Queso and 2 Huge Steak Burritos and a drink for less than $ 20. Good price. Found out they donate 5% of their profits to local charity too. How awesome!

Every time I eat at Moe’s I ask myself immediately afterwards, why?! Why did I waste money, calories, and a meal where I could have had tasty food on this?! BLAND. I have tried everything on my burrito and it just tastes like a soggy bland mess. The line is always long. People take forever to order. The cost is ridiculous for what you are getting. The staff is friendly and the green salsa is pretty tasty(only thing with flavor) which is why I’m giving 2 stars versus 1.

I dont care that Moes is a chain restaurant and i also dont care that it is an americanized chain restaurant of mexican food. All i care about is that it is good americanized chain mexican food. I ate here yesterday and i got nachos and a burrito. The biggest i’ve ever seen. Everything was flavorful and delicious and i went to bed happy. I’ll be back again to eat here.

Do you like Americanized Mexican food? Do you want your Ameri-Mex grub done fast-casual style? Are you willing to part with some quality in exchange for quantity along the way? Congratulations! You’re a perfect candidate to go eat at Moe’s. Moe’s is basically like Chipotle, if Chipotle had a free salsa bar, lower-quality ingredients, and free, average-quality chips. This particular Moe’s location is no exception. It has plenty of parking, although like many other restaurants in the area its lot is divided between 2 locations. Fortunately, the street running through the lots is mostly unused and the area isn’t creepy or anything, so it isn’t a big deal. For around $ 7 you can get a decent burrito, and it comes with free chips. The salsa bar is always welcome, and there are a pretty decent number of salsa types on offer. Moe’s offers more optional ingredients than Chipotle, but all the ingredients taste less fresh and savory than the big C’s. Again, it’s quantity over quality by a decent margin here. The service is fine and the interior is clean, but this Moe’s shares a street with not only a very close-by Chipotle, but also a slightly less closer-by Willy’s burrito joint, and also an El Azteca. You’re kind of spoiled for choice in terms of what kind of Americanized Mexican you want. I go here because of the free chips and salsa, and I know that the food quality will take a hit, but hey, free chips and salsa!

Good for a Moe’s. Moe’s isn’t my favorite burrito chain. But it will do, especially on $ 5 burrito Monday. Its always fresh. It would be cool if each location could be more consistent with salsa selection. Not all have the corn salsa on the bar. Anyway… it was good. The only thing that sets Moes apart for me is the Chipotle Ranch sauce you can have them add to any thing. Its real good. This location did seem to give smaller portion sizes. I noticed that when they were making it. Just thought it was a fluke, but after reading the other reviews… IDK.

Like another poster, I used to be a regular customer, here. The food was great, the staff friendly, etc… But ever since the store has been under new management, the food is terrible! The staff are still friendly… but their food is just atrocious. I even posted a complaint on the Moe’s corporate site and got an email from the new owner saying he had to fire all of the old employees because they were«undocumented». He also said because he had to train new staff, the level of food would be rising. I decided to give them a chance and have stopped in a few more times since then, hopeful. The level of food has not gone up. The chicken is tasteless, dry and not cut up well. You bite into your burrito and into a 2inch thick piece of dry, unseasoned chicken that tastes like a dirty grill. Mmmm, right?! The steak is no better. I saw that the new owner is planning on expanding the parking lot. What a joke! Cars used to be wrapped around the side of the building and even parked across the street at the drugstore. Now the lot is always empty… unlike the Chipotle down the street, where you can never find parking, but that’s another review. I used to see the APD eating here all the time, now I never see a cop car parked out front. Yup, even cops won’t eat here. Do yourself and the neighborhood a huge favor and stay away from this place so it can die a quick death and we can get a another viable quick, delicious eating option back on that corner.

I used to eat at this Moe’s at least once a week a few years ago(prior to moving to Hawaii) and I loved it. I never had a bad experience and the food was always phenomenal. I was driving down Ponce the other day, feeling a little nostalgic, and decided to stop by and relive some college-day memories. The first thing I noticed was the«under new management» sign hanging on the front of the building. This usually means that something has gone horribly wrong and that someone is trying to fix it. I looked at Unilocal and noticed why — a lot of bad reviews with regards to what looks like poor management. Unprofessional employees, bad food preparation, poor inventory planning, etc… Considering the fact that I was already in the parking lot and that I was starving, I decided to give it a shot anyway. The employees were really nice, the food was great, and everything was well stocked. I’m not saying that all the problems have been fixed, but I would say that they are at least walking down the right path.

I absolutely hate the litany of «Welcome to Moe’s!» repeated ad nauseum the entire time I’m eating there. Also, can’t really deal with the attitude of the workers when I come in there. Yep, I’m a woman with a very short haircut. Yep, I wear an ear cuff in one ear. I guess I’m not an attractive enough woman for you so you leer at me and snicker with your buddies. These guys are so homophobic, it’s not to be believed! I’ve come in here with my Gay male friends and they get the treatment too. The food is good but they nickel and dime you for every little thing. They run out of things a lot. No salsa? No hot sauce? The Coke machine is on the fritz and there’s no ice? Does anyone care? No, not really, because most of them don’t understand a word of English and trying to get them to add something or change an item is pure torture. You want excellent Tex-Mex with great wait-staff and no homophobia? Get thee to Raging Burrito in Decatur! Yes, you will pay more at Raging Burrito but the food and service FAR outshine this crappy little chain.

Ok so this wasn’t my first visit to Moe’s but probably one of my most pleasant. When I walked in last night it smelled new, furniture and employees, you could tell there had been a change. Moe’s on Ponce seems to be under new management. They finally went down on the price of the queso, which I felt they should have done long ago since the size decreased. The employee who made my friends order said that they no longer charged for sour cream. My friend ordered the Triple Lindy and thoroughly enjoyed it. On a side note there were employees of different ethnicities, who all spoke English, as their first language.

I love Moe’s. I eat Moe’s a lot. I’ve eaten at like… ten different Moe’s locations. This is, hands-down, the BESTMOE’S in the city. No question about it. The chips are always perfect(nice, satisfying crunch, just the right amount of salt), the staff never skimps on the burrito stuffing, and I always enjoy what I get. The salsas are consistently the most tasty too(although the Atlantic Station location comes close!!). I drove down Ponce a few days ago and saw that all the tables were gone and everything was ripped up inside, though. I’m REALLY hoping they’re just remodeling, and not shutting down forever. Please don’t close, best Moe’s in the city!!! I’ll miss you! EDIT: Thank goodness! They only renovated. Welcome back, my favorite Moe’s! I’ve eaten here since they re-opened, and was just as pleased, if not maybe more so, this time around. The chips are perfect, the salsa is still yummy, and the burrito was definitely filling. Rock on, Moe’s! :)

I had a serious mexican food craving and after venturing over and finding Taqueria Del Sol to be closed, we ended up at Moe’s. I don’t have too much to say other than to go to Chipotle instead. Moe’s has a similar concept but the quality of their food is terrible. The rice, meat and beans are all equally dry and bland. They charge extra for just about any topping you might want. Their guacamole tastes more like it was colored green than like it had any avocado and the salsas all tasted like old tomatoes.

I walk in and order an Alfredo Garcia, my staple indulgence. The girl behind the counter asks me, «What’s in that?» Thoroughly confused, I thought perhaps I was not in Moe’s. When I realized I was I asked if – despite the fact she was wearing Moe’s attire and standing behind the Moe’s counter – perhaps she did not actually work for Moe. She replied that she did, but was a recent hire and hadn’t not yet committed the entire menu to memory. At this point she was straining to see the menu board on the wall, in order to see the ingredients. So I calmly explained to her how to make an Alfredo Garcia. After all, I have eaten 6,000 of them. She did an expert job of putting the thing together. And when I asked for a tad bit more salsa, she quickly responded: «Extra charge?» My sense of injustice leaped into my veins and I said, «I’m not paying extra for a scoop of sal – » «Just kidding!» she said, and gave me a friendly smile. I paid, gathered my drink and various sauces, and took my Alfredo Garcia home. I have to say, it was delicious. And contrary to what you might imagine, that was my best-ever Moe’s experience. I loved the girl’s attitude and sense of humor. She clearly knew making burritos requires zero skill, despite all the Moe’s propaganda. And she also understood the regularly upheld absurdity of charging extra for small additional scoops of food – even when you forego the beans. I wish more burrito baristas were that amusing…

For me, it’s all about Moe’s. I know others will argue the merits of competing fast food mexi chains, but the gooey cheesy goodness of Moe’s tops my list. My Moe’s cravings are the death of my diet! I love the new combo menu many locations have recently added — makes it easy to get my JC quesadilla and queso dip all in a neat little package. I also love the variety that they offer here, compared to some of the other places, and I think the food is overall more flavorful. I’m all about the flavor. The place is nothing fancy — bright colors and loud employees who sometimes speak little English, but the food hits the spot.
