Myers Carpet

If I could do zero stars, I would. We are in the process of renovating our home and our contractor (who is known for high quality renovations in Atlanta) sent us here to look for carpet for our upstairs and basement. When we arrived, we quickly realized that we needed help and asked the front desk for sales help. The woman that helped us did not seem overly interested in helping us and after about a minute of looking at carpet, she sent us to the back of the warehouse and told us to look here. When we asked, «how much are those?» She told us, «the price varies» and walked away. I had to track her down AGAIN for help and gave her my carpet allowance from my contractor. I was then informed that my carpet allowance was not reasonable and that my budget would only cover low-​end carpet. She also asked me how much my house was worth, which I found to be tacky and completely irrelevant. Note that my carpet budget was the same as other projects three times my size in homes much bigger than mine. She sent us to a corner of the room, told us this is what we could afford and walked away. It was pretty obvious that we weren’t worth the time. They may have nice carpet but their customer service is low-​class.

I typically don’t do reviews. However, I feel compelled to do so on this occasion. Its interesting to read the others. It is very impressive from a choice perspective and their inventory is great. Having said that, I’m not sure how they stay in business because it seems impossible for them to actually take my money, even when I beg them. My wife went in a couple weeks ago and was basically ignored. We then returned together and after a few moments of looking around someone came to «help». By help, I mean taken into the back and basically said look around and write numbers down. I suppose that is fine and sometimes I don’t like getting hounded in stores. However, I’m trying to outfit an entire house and spend $ 5−10K, so I expect some help. Here is where it gets really fun. My wife emails the «sales person» the next day and then calls the following Monday. We still have not received a response from that person. At that point, I am typically finished. But here we go into round two. My wife is frustrated, but doesn’t give up hope! She goes back in the following week and meets with another person. After getting a catalog, she is sent in a room to select items and that the «sales person» would return. She never came back and my wife went to find her. Not a big deal. She brought home the catalog for us to review. Now the emails and phone calls go unanswered when we are trying to BUY. Its quite amazing. I then decided to call the «manager». I left my cell phone number several days ago and still have not received a call back. Finally, I believe the items are on order. We will see how delivery goes. However, this is the last time I will be back. I run a large sales organization and I have never seen anything like it.

I came in today based on a recommendation from a coworker. From the other reviews, I was excited to see what Myers had, being just around the corner.
If you like wandering around being ignored for 20 minutes, this is the place for you! The dozens of people who work (?) inside standing around chit chatting aren’t helpful. No greeting, no check in, nothing.
Stay away and order from Overstock.

School has always started with Meyers carpet for me, each fall I would pick up an area rug for my dorm room. I simply love this place, the staff is patient and actually take an interest in what your trying to accomplish. Leslie Putnam has been a real asset to my family, I am proud to call her a friend and enjoy working with a her because of her experience and candid insight.

I can’t say enough good things about this place!!! Months ago I told design-​savvy friends that I wanted a nice 9×12 rug for the living room, nothing heirloom quality but good-​looking and durable. «Myers Carpet!» they intoned, and I ignored them.
I went to all the chic chain furniture and home lifestyle stores (you know who you are) and was appalled by the prices. Thousands of dollars for pretty average neutral rugs, in my book.
So I went to Myers. An unbelievable selection! The back room is filled with giant remnants they can cut into any size rug you want. They will also do that with just about any carpet in the front of the store too. I walked around the back warehouse, but couldn’t find anything right and needed help. Mine was a tiny order, but my saleswoman Pam spent so much time with me you would have thought I was carpeting a whole subdivision. In just a couple weeks I had the carpet I picked out cut to my exact specifications (better than 9×12) and with a nice rug pad the whole thing came to significantly less than the prices I’d been seeing.
Delivery was fast and on time. The carpet looks perfect with my furniture. It was just a fantastic experience. I’m going back there for a dining room rug and Myers will be my first choice to put a rug or carpet down anywhere in my house, from now on. I should have listened to my friends from the start – so I’ll be YOUR friend and tell you to go there.

Best carpet in Atlanta. I love their back warehouse, since it has a ton of nice, wool area rugs already bound and ready to take with you. They have great taste, and it’s nothing but nice carpets. I have bought many area rugs, and I moved to TN, and they even texted photos of rugs (I told them what I was looking for) and they shipped to me. My mom has also bought from them for years. When one of her rooms had a defect in the seam of the carpet, they replaced the entire thing, even though it was a year later. Martin and Leslie are great. I also feel like their prices are good considering the quality.

Angela helped us and is great and knowledgeable.. We walked in overwhelmed by extensive selection and kind of shut down. Angela educated us and answered tons of questions with patience and interest, gave us options. Of course we most liked carpeting from the roll on the bottom but a guy with a cool little truck spooled and moved all the carpets on top then unrolled the one we were considering. No attitude, no drama.

Just offering a counter review to some of the negative comments about this place. I had terrific service here — ask for Kalie when you go in. She kept me informed, quoted me clearly and gave me a great price in the end.
The rug itself is awesome — it’s an area rug for the bedroom, derived from a remnant so it wasn’t custom made (which means machinery wasn’t used specifically for my order, which has a smaller carbon footprint). They also gave me a free extra runner to do with as I please — which, I know, is not unheard of… but they didn’t have to go the extra mile, but they did anyway.
The delivery folks were great, too. So, I give them high marks all the way around. Shop local and follow my advice. ;)

great prices and selections, great location.

No matter what anyone says they do have one of the largest selections of carpet in the area. And really, if you are carpeting large square footage they work on the price and it is within reason. They are the best at finishing off carpet for rugs. However their customer service IS SOME OF THE WORST IN ATLANTA. No one helps you, they actually pointed to an area of their showroom and said «look over there» as if I could find the wool carpet I requested by myself. The woman actually sighed and rolled her eyes when I asked her how much the carpet was (there are no prices on the samples). Then it’s like you are asking for gold and a real pain for them to sign out samples, and when you bring them back you wait and wait for anyone to notice you standing there with three samples boards to check back in. I am not alone in thinking this. In today’s world Dalton outlets just don’t have the selection they did in «the day» so we are forced to use this sorry place. Any better places out there?

Myers seems to have a great selection, but their customer service is beyond horrible. I had one woman literally laugh in my face when gave her a fairly detailed description of what I was looking for, and tell me «everything in our store is like that.» No suggestion of where to start looking, no explanation about different kinds of carpet, nothing. She laughed in my face and that was it. I told her I’d look around and let her know if I needed more help.
While I was looking, I saw another sales associate and asked her about stain treatment on wool carpets. Though she wasn’t doing anything at all when I very politely asked if I could ask her a question, she huffily got out a calculator and proceeded to bang away at it for a full 30 seconds before first making fun of my question and then answering it with a lot of condescending carpet jargon, then turning huffily away again to bang away at her calculator some more.
This was one of the worst customer service experiences I have ever had. They would have to be giving carpet away for me to darken their door again.

Good selection and prices, but the sales person was very short and rude. He was bothered because he had to «explain things multiple times». We were hesitant to pay before the carpet arrived, so we could look at the patterns again. We were told the bulk carpet rolls would come in 2 weeks (the salesperson debates this date, but we have him on our voicemail). It arrived the very next day, and contrary to what we told him, he went ahead and charged our card. When I called to express my displeasure, among other a few other unpleasant issues that occurred, the salesperson got so flustered he essentially hung up on me. Not good business in these times. Not that we did much more than waffle a bit, but I’d think a salesperson would take a heck of a lot more customer grief before they resort to this attitude.
