New Image Salon

It’s a family style salon. Staff are very friendly. They listen to your preference and also provide honest feedback. Sue has 40 years experience in hair salon. I m happy with the haircut and the service. They also provide massage, skincare, and makeup services.

My bride-​to-​be sister took us here to have our hair and makeup done. The finished results were absolutely amazing. Our hair stylist, Sue, was incredible; she was quick, and went beyond our expectations. I have thick natural curls, and my sister has long, fine hair. The makeup was well-​done as well — not too heavy, and not too subtle. We will definitely be returning soon.

Sad, but Grace is no longer working at New Image Salon.

After many suggestions, I visited New Image Salon for the first time. I had just washed my hair, so I opted for the $ 20 haircut only.
I got bangs for the first time here, and my bangs are crooked.
My once long, un-​frizzy hair has since been chopped off, super-​layered, and has now become frizzy because of that. I wasn’t expecting so many layers, as I asked for «a little layered» and my hair is a bit shorter than I was expecting it to be.
I’ve also had much more friendly people cut my hair, who act like I exist and ask me questions about how I want my hair cut, versus chatting in Chinese with other people in the salon.
Meh.

I’ve been going to New Image Salon for at least 5 years. Sue has been my hair stylist every single time and has cut a variety of styles that I’ve wanted from a trim to an a-​line bob. She also did my hair and bridesmaids’ hair for my wedding as well as my sister-in-law’s hair and her bridesmaids hair.
I trust Sue with her opinions and recommendations and have never been disappointed. She listens carefully to what I have to say and makes sure to cut exactly the style that I want.
I highly recommend the salon and Sue as your stylist! She will not disappoint :)

Do not go here! My best friend and I just went here on Saturday and here is what happened…
My best friend explained that her hair grows slow and that she is getting married in 6 months so she wants as little as possible taken off. Grace held up a piece of hair and showed her ¼ inch and asked if that was okay. My friend said yes. Grace then proceeded to cut off 3 inches. Yes… THREE INCHES!!! Obviously, my friend was upset and was actually crying. Grace said nothing… just ignored her. On top of that, her bangs were supposed to be angled and they look like stairs! If you are wondering… yes, she still charged her for the cut, even after my friend expressed her frustration that she was being charged for it.
Regarding my hair… the cut was horrible. She cut off ¼ inch and then held it up and asked if it was okay. As I’m sure you are guessing… that is not what she cut off. She actually cut more than an inch off. She didn’t trim up my layers as I asked, so now my hair has no shape. And, my bangs look like my 3 year old cut them.
DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY GOING HERE!!!

GREAT haircut by Grace for $ 25. I came in without a photo and explained what I wanted and she gave me exactly that. Highly recommend.

Are you guys kidding me? For $ 25 for a woman’s cut & wash, New Image Salon is AMAZING. Also, they cut my hair wet AND dry to even out all the layers.
I got really tired of handing over $ 60 for a trim at places like Salon Red and barely seeing the difference. Decided to go to New Image based on the Unilocal reviews and was so incredibly pleased with the experience.
The interior is a bit underwhelming but the LOVELY woman who washed my hair was so great at the massage. She really took her time (omg– like 10mins) and I was total putty by the end of it.
My hair dresser was a man, it’s terrible that I can’t recall his name, but HE WAS SO GREAT. He cut my hair wet, then cut it DRY which is so freaggin fraggin important because I have wavy hair. Ok– so I tend to go pretty extreme with my hairstyles and walked into the salon with a pretty severe undercut. My hair dresser did an excellent job giving me a shoulder length bob with bangs that is actually able to cover it up.
I wouldn’t say that I got exactly what I showed him in the photo, but he did a damn good job taking his time with the bangs and layering. I am pretty confident that my hair will grow-​into the photo I came in with within a month or two.
Also, I had been avoiding getting a haircut for 2 months since having a really TERRIBLE experience at a salon in NYC, but New Image Salon really restored my faith in the salon experience. Such nice people, really meticulous about their jobs, and I mean practically unbeatable for the price.
Definitely coming back.
PS– I feel guilty but they were totally fine with me charging the tip to my credit card instead of cash. AHHH! So nice!!!

Stopped by since I was in the area and my friend who owns a salon down the street was out of town. I used to frequent this place a LOT, usually not for myself, except once and they were so happy I finally did lol. A short while after, I stopped coming around so I was very surprised a couple of the ladies there remembered me. This time around, they helped me out with a half up-​do for a friend’s wedding after I showed them some pictures. Overall, it was a pretty decent job.
Oh, and the employees speak a myriad of languages, so someone’s bound to be able to help you.

Grace is the best hair stylist I have ever had work on my hair.
When she did my hair straightening, I nearly cried. My hair was perfect with no fly-​aways. It is immediately obvious how good she is with handling hair. Comparing to the other stylists I had there who left flyaways during flat ironing, or even burning my ear, Grace is skills are noticeably on a higher level. And she is polite and friendly.
For a while she left new image salon, so I did not go to this place for a while.
Now that she is back, I will be visiting her again as soon as I have time to make it during their store hours. I really do need a haircut very soon.

I got my hair cut by Sue. She’s a very competent hair-​cutter who’s been in the business for a long time. She’s bilingual in English & Chinese, so no worries if you can’t speak Chinese. The store is very no nonsense and the store front unassuming (right next to Bo Bo Garden). I walked in around 5:30pm on a weekday, and she was able to squeeze me in without an appointment.
$ 25 for a women’s haircut, including wash & dry! I think this might be my new regular spot.

Came by to get my hair fixed on day after work, and Sue was extremely nice and friendly. She knew exactly what I meant when I wanted to even out my hair, and she did so the best of her ability. The top is still lighter than the bottom, but she got rid of the blotches that I had from Paul Mitchell School, and made it overall, more natural looking.
My boyfriend has been coming here to cut his hair for over 10 years, and they continue to be the only one he goes to.
I only got my hair colored, so I’m waiting until next time when I get my hair cut to see how good they are. (That might be a while though)
