The owner is extremely rude. Although the food was decent, they advertised prices that were much lower online than what u actually paid in store. Every time I went to this place the prices had increased. On my last visit I parked in front of the restaurant and walked across to neighboring restaurant so that I could get a dinner menu for this evening. I planned to have lunch at Nicky’s at that time. When the owner saw me walking towards the other restaurant in the lot he proceeded to beep his horn aggressively. I ignored it because I planned to address it when I got my food. As I returned to Nicky’s, I asked the owner of he was beeping at me and he proceeded to yell at me, talking some nonsense about not being able to visit the other restaurant if I am parked in front of his restaurant(mind you, it’s one big lot for both restaurants). He was just an overall jerk and honestly if that’s how you treat customers then you deserve to be closed. Average seafood. Prices constantly changing to keep up with the failing business. Too many hands behind the counter and not enough people actually displaying good customer service.

I must say there fish and shrimp poboy was total delicious. Their customer service was very good. I’m totally going back for lunch. Just a note they do not serve lobster rolls. That’s what drew me in. I was quite disappointed by that but they really made up it in other ways.

Don’t even bother. I hate to give this place a low rating, because four years ago I would’ve given it five. Sucks because my husband has never been, so his first experience was our last. They are under new management, and I had a really bad experience yesterday. I had to write a review. Pros: 1. Friendly Employees 2. Food was good 3. I did not get sick. Cons: 1. They did not have half of the items on the menu. When I did decide on what to order, from available options, they didnt have that either; but compensation was made and they gave me extra shrimp. 2. They ran out of forks. That left me eating collard greens with a spoon. 3. Soda machine was ‘Out of Order’. Only available option was water and/or Sweet tea. 4. The place was dirty. Floors, floor boards, walls, doors, windows, etc. I am not sure if they know how to clean an establishment properly. I would hate to know what the back looks like. This then caused me to think what could really be lurking in the ‘Out of Order’ soda machine, which still gave out water or are they just too cheap to buy the soda. 5. Health Inspection Rating was 74 — C. Normally I do not eat in places with ratings under 85-B. …but I didnt notice this until after I ordered. I didn’t want to walk out or go through the hassle of them refunding my card. I checked older reviews. The score is consistently getting lower. Next Inspection, they may close. After seeing the score, it prompted me to look around and see how filthy it was. Luckily, I did not get sick. They are going to have to clean up their act, literally, before I return. I took a chance for all of us. Do not risk it!

Don’t you just love good food in kind of sketchy neighborhoods! I’m not being sarcastic. The good-east in West Atlanta was surprising! A bit over priced for a boxed meal, but I can dig it. I think I just picked the wrong thing on the menu. First time here. I believe in Nicky’s, so I’ll be back!

Review is strictly on timeliness. Didn’t even get to eat. HELL, it’s 11:45 am and their door is still locked. Open @ 11:30 is a lie. Not good at all.

I went to Nicky’s Seafood tonight. Let’s start with the good. The lady behind the counter was really nice and personable. The mixed vegetables were good, the red beans and rice weren’t bad(not much flavor though). The crab dip, what little of it I tasted so far, was pretty good. Now for the bad. The pieces of fish were tiny. Three pieces of their fish made one fairly decent sized piece of fish. I got a large order of crab dip. They almost forgot to include it with my order. They brought it out to my car as I was backing up to go home. If I hadn’t stopped to figure out the best route home using my GPS, I would have been long gone. They packaged crackers with the dip, 32 packets of saltine crackers. I tried five of the packs. All five packs were very stale. I feel like they dumped the stale crackers on me instead of dumping them in the trash where they belong. Maybe I should have known something was wrong by how empty they were on a Friday evening. Maybe some of the other items were good, but I don’t plan to go back and try again.

Worst service I’ve ever had at a restaurant. I was with a group of 6 and 2 of us ordered a shrimp dish. 10 minutes later the waitress tells us that they are out of shrimp.(At a seafood house!!!) Then I waited 15 minutes for her to come back to take my new order! I ordered mussels($ 13) and a side of fries($ 5!!!). The waitress nor anyone ever refilled our waters either. My order eventually came out and my $ 5 order of fries was about 15 tiny fries. I could not believe the little amount of food that came out for a place with such horrible service and for a dive. Such a let down.

All the pictures you see are from the previous management. Whomever is running the place is doing a piss poor job. I may as well not have told them how I wanted my fish ’cause I got blackened anyway. It was the blandest taste I’ve ever had. Not even simple seasonings like salt and pepper were applied to it. Even the drink machine is over carbonated so you cannot fill your glass.

Nicky’s is so good! My friend and I were at City of Ink getting tattoos. I’d gotten mine done already and she’d just gotten started on hers so she’d asked me to pick up some food from Nicky’s. I happily obliged. When you turn on Whitehall, Nicky’s is on the corner, and there’s a huge parking lot next to it. So that’s a good thing. I was a little nervous as it was my first time there and there weren’t many people inside, but I needn’t worry. When I walked in, I ordered a whiting burrito for my friend and a catfish burrito for myself, both with French fries. The fish selection that day was huge. It was about a 10 – 12 minute wait. It’s a somewhat medium sized place. There are tables and chairs(about 4 tables and 2 – 4 chairs per table) in the immediate area where you place you order. Then there’s a separate area towards the back, where there’s a bit more space, though I didn’t go back there. The older lady who took my order was very pleasant and nice, she made sure she asked me exactly what condiments we needed with our burrito plates, then I left. I immediately tore into that burrito in my car. It was delish! The fish was super fresh. The tortilla was sturdy enough to hold all the ingredients, the French fries were seasoned well and the lemonade was bomb. I’m looking for an excuse to head over that way again soon.

When I got there the location was not very appealing. It was in the ghetto parts of Atlanta, and their outside patio was facing the streets to rundown parts of the city. I had to hear an angry driver honk at a car in front and yell. There was not much of a view around it. The place seemed liked it did not fit. Inside the place itself and on the patio felt like home. They integrated there own home-style decorations. The service was really friendly. Our cashier was always smiling. She was willing to make adjustments to our food to our own liking. They ran out of big sized shrimp so she loaded us up with a bunch of little sized shrimp. She made her own personal suggestions to help us choose. Our waitress was just as friendly. She insisted to help us even when we wanted to take the food out ourselves. She even thew in extra sauces for free that was suppose to be an extra charge. They have a secret sauce which takes most like other secret sauces. There were more choices of fish and how you want it cooked then usual seafood places I’ve been to. There was about 5 choices of different kinds of fish(tuna, tilapia, catfish, salmon, … and others that was unusual, but I forgot the name). From the menu there was an extra choice to choose from besides fried or grilled which was blackned. The food was delicious. They served the food in to go boxes, which I found was convenient because the 13 dollar meal my friend ordered was big and had to take it to go anyways. The to go boxes might not suit everyone, who is looking for a more formal dinning experience. The food did take a while to come out even though we were the first one to order. I find some of the dishes to be overpriced and some fitting. My friend got fish with shrimps and 2 sides, which was 13 dollars. I got a fish sandwich with 1 side for only 5 dollars. Together it came to be around 20 dollars.

The food is 5 stars! The crab dip… the BEST! The lobster roll… DELICIOUS! The fried shrimp and fish… AWESOME! So why 3 stars? The service is harsh and unfriendly and I can’t get over the time when they were operating when the health inspectors shut them down. I really wish I had never known about that because I just can’t risk going to a place that will keep old health scores up. But man… I sure do miss going to this place.

This place is joke! It is a shadow of what it used to be according to the old pictures and reviews here. Under new management pretending to be the old good stuff. Overpriced and poor quality food. They did not have most of the dishes on the menu but the lady had plenty of excuses. They kept the«Nick’s famous crab dip» sign in the store but guess what? They don’t even use real crab meat to make it! Disgusting. Oh, and do not even think about asking for the lobster roll! They don’t prepare it and apparently get aggravated by people asking about it(how stupid is that business wise?). If you’re not a masochist, love your seafood and your hard earned money, stay away from this«restaurant».

Well this place got an 82 health score… that was concerning for me. Something has drastically changed since new management. How ever they haven’t last their touch in great tasting food. They’ve downsized from their previous menu selection.

Nicky’s used to be my favorite spot for seafood. The new management has destroyed this place and its reputation. So sad for all of Atlanta, but tragic to Westside residents. R.I.P. Nicky’s…

It’s been better. Not sure if they are working out the kinks with the new ownership ir if this is what it’s just gonna be but there’s a palpable difference all the way around. I didn’t notice the change in portions the other posters mentioned and I never found the service warm and friendly so no change there what’s always mattered is the food! Came in today when nickys popped up on scoutmob for 50% off — disc up to $ 10. The honored it happily and food came quick and was hot. But there was something«not the same» this time. Will give them a little bit to settle in and will try again to see if things are any better

This here is some bullshit! Just so you all are aware, they have changed ownership and it’s not for the better! The lack of professionalism is sad. First of all, they closed a few weeks ago so that they could reopen under this new… régime. There were no signs posted, and no one answered the phones until about a week before they reopened. Even after they did, they seem to have a problem answering the phones during the week to take to-go orders. I should have taken that as a sign that this place is on a downward spiral. After NOT getting a pedicure that I was SO looking forward to, I got some gas at the nearby Exxon and looked across the street to see that Nicky’s was open. I decided to get my tried and true seafood burrito. Strike 1: How does a burrito go from $ 5.50 to $ 7 in the span of a month??? Furthermore, how do you justify not telling people the prices when they order? I should have asked, just to double check, but I mean damn… that’s a large increase! Strike 2: The burrito is about 30% smaller. With inferior ingredients. And it’s bland. And actually, the sauce it comes with is a knockoff as well. The sweet tea was bitter. Just a big ass FAIL all the way around. Strike 3: They kept everything… the name, the décor, even the menu design! Is that an attempt to fool the regulars into wasting their money on you? I’m LIVID about this whole experience and how nonchalant they seem to be. The food is inferior and a cheap knockoff of what Nicky’s used to be. I give them a slow, painful year before they go under.

I really like Nicky’s seafood. Holy cow, some of the best hush puppies ever! They are known for their Lobster Roll and I can see why. It’s fresh lobster with slaw and other ingredients served cold on a toasted roll. The seasonings and freshness of the lobster are sublime. I had the fried whiting with Mac and cheese and French fries(don’t judge me, it was my cheat meal). The fish was fried well but I would stand to have more seasoning in the batter; however, the fish was fresh which was nice. My friend had the blackened salmon with red potatoes and veggies. Even their grilled entrees are tasty and fresh. The prices are affordable and the food is good. The best part is the customer service. They are the kindest and nicest people in the world! Try took the time to explain all of the menu options and give great descriptions of the food. The man behind the counter listened to my requests and made additional suggestions based on what types of fish I like. When we left, each person behind the counter made a point to thank us for coming. Really nice experience!
