I sadly have ate at this restaurant. When exiting the parking lot I drove around back to exit, this restaurant grows there vegetables in dirty old planters that sit outside near the trash cans. Also the best part of this experience in the fact that the waiter I had which was a young Asian, was standing in the opened trash at Big Lots unloading items, it appeared to have been bread. These Asians dumpster dive for their food, sell expired food to you and make you buy it. It’s disgusting. Please for your safety do not eat here, help report them to the city and watch how dirty they really are.

HORRIBLE! I went here with a friend and we should of turned around from beginning. The parking lot was EMPTY, actually there was 2 cars but it probably belonged to the owners. We thought it was a Thursday at 8 pm we thought maybe it’s late, plus we drove 25 minutes to get there. When we walked in there we no other customers. The should of been our 2nd sign, but no we stayed. I honestly have to say everything was just wrong. My friend who is Chinese/Malaysian started out talking to the waiter who was Chinese. She asked if the food was really good authentic food. He said it was good but every restaurant has it’s own version of food depending on the environment. The was our 3rd sign to leave… why did we stay? Here’s what we ordered — Roti Canai — the crêpe was the frozen kind that is thickess and mushy and was fried in old oil that you can taste. If you ever had Roti Canai you know the crêpe should be light and flakey. The curry sauce that it comes had no flavor. It was watery and tasted like just chicken broth with curry powder. No pieces of chicken or potatoe in it. Fried Tofu — again disgusting in the old oil. Laksa — The flavor wasn’t horrible but tasted more like ramen noodle. No real depth the flavor Rendeng –Wasn’t horrible either in flavor. But the meat was tough. This is the type of meat that should cooked for a long time. It was obvious that it was not cooked right. The service — HORRIBLE. All though the waiter was nice in the beginning, after the food starting coming out he NEVER came back. I had to hunt him down for some water. And there is no excuse since we were the ONLY customers in the restaurant. We think he was ashamed to ask us how the food was, because he knows it’s bad. This comes from an opinion of 2 people who enjoy authentic Asian food. I’m new to Atlanta so I don’t know the right places, now I know to stay away from this place.

TWOHOURS to get our delivery? And then they didn’t even get our credit card payment through the website? My husband had to give the driver another one. If we get charged twice I don’t know what I’ll do. NEVER eating from this place again. The woman who answers the phone is rude too. F* this place.

I used to like this place but the last time I ordered they said 10 – 15 mins. Showed up early and waited in the front for TWENTYMINUTES! Not a single person came out from anywhere. So we left. An hour later the guy calls my phone 4x and left me 2 messages wanting to know where I was. Umm buddy I was waiting but nobody ever showed! If this was a one time occurrence I would’ve gone back but it seems anytime we’ve gone, there’s nobody there to greet you. It’s like they’re closed. So sad

Really quite hard to describe… It is located in a Ghost town of a strip mall anchored by a Big Lots. The décor was purchased at Big Lots about 30 years ago… It is a very small place with a diverse menu and group of diners. I enjoyed my meal… Spicy noodle dish with coconut soup. Quick service and food to the table.

I used to love this place. Please check their 5 last GEORGIAHEALTHINSPECTIONS Rodents, Roaches, Rodents etc. They keep commiting the same violation. It is understandable if they get a bad grade but after soo many warning it keeps happening. Their food and attitude used to be better too. Check for yourself and you will see I am not making this up: Search any restaurant

Oh, I miss this place. It was right down the street from my old job, and I’ve never had such good Chinese food. I took about six people there over various visits, and everyone I went with loved it. I almost always ordered the same thing: Sesame chicken, egg drop soup, chicken fried rice, and crab rangoon. I was never disappointed. Sometimes, egg drop soup makes me feel a little ill if it’s too rich. This soup created a perfect balance between rich and comforting. The crab rangoons were like nothing I had ever had before. They had a unique flavor that you would be hard-pressed to find at other restaurants for the same price. The chicken fried rice was amazing. I am not a big rice fan, but I always, always, always ate very bite. Finally, the sesame chicken has ruined all other forms of sesame chicken for me. I don’t know what recipe they use, but it is just a completely different kind of coating than what I am used to, and I loved it. Even better when rolled around in the rice for a minute. Don’t order soda, though — it’s overpriced, like over a dollar, and you only get a can. No refills. Bit odd, really. Like practically all Chinese retaurants, the lunch combos are reasonably priced. I think mine cost around $ 10, including a tip, for all that wonderful food.

In one word, I sum up my dinning experience as YUCK! I ordered take out and while the rest of my co-workers were ho-hum about it, I actually felt like I was going to be sick from another bite. I had the roti cani and found the curry to watered down and extremely oily. The roti itself was alright, but the amount of oil that was left on my napkin was a turn off. I had the pad thai, and was so disappointed! It had almost no flavor at all and was gummy. Definitely not something I would ever call Thai by any stretch of the imagination.

Another takeout order from me. I even told one of my co-workers about Nyonya so he and I both ordered. He was very impressed with the food he had. He loved the cocounut soup and Hunan beef. I ordered the Spicy Basil Noodles for the first time. I asked for it to be extra spicy, the spiciest it could ever be and am not disappointed. Every lunch dish comes with soup. I had the hot and sour soup. I am very picky about hot and sour soup. Most places don’t have it spicy enough or have enough flavors but Nyonya has the best hot and sour soup for me. Whenever I ask for my dish to be very spicy, I expect it to be. That means, so spicy that I can still eat and wipe my tear. I hate it when I have to add more peppers for myself. The noodles were thin and had lots of flavors from spicy to sour. I love that. I took a bunch of take out menus for my co-workers. Many of them have walked by asking where I ordered from too) They deliver too. On top of that, I went to pick up my order and it was ready in 10 mins :)

On a second visit in a party of 5 and I discovered that the chicken-based dishes can be breaded in two different styles. The Orange Chicken and the Sesame Chicken dishes were okay. But the General Tso and Sweet & Sour chicken dishes had heavy breading that was nearly equal in volume to the chicken. It was doughy instead of crisp, and the gloppy sauces were so thick it was more like a Smucker’s Jam. I will say the flavor was decent, if it hadn’t been sabotaged by it’s own viscosity and the breading. Mid-meal the music changed from piano to a discordant ehru soloist. This is the two-stringed Chinese violin that sounds like a cat being shredded alive, but at a slower pace and played backwards. It was very unpleasant and I’d prefer the Yoshida Brothers or something that actually has a melody. And stays on key. Since most of our party was happy with their meals, and the won-ton soup was savory as always, I’m only taking off a star.

Nyonya is an Asian restaurant in Sandy Springs, located right next door to Big Lots. If you’re facing Big Lots, Nyonya is on your left. They’re in the same shopping complex on Roswell Rd. and will be on your left if you’re traveling north, away from the Abernathy-Roswell intersection(the intersection where Nori Nori and Yogli-Mogli are located). There’s plenty of parking. I came here for dinner on a weeknight and my friends and I were the only customers the entire time we were there. Their menu offers a little bit of everything(seafood, chicken, beef, pork, etc.) and they also have noodle dishes. Dinner entrees range anywhere from $ 8.95 for chicken entrees to $ 19.95 for half a duck. While they advertise themselves as a «Chinese-Malaysian-Thai» restaurant, I couldn’t find many Thai dishes on the menu. I’m guessing the owner(s) are of Chinese-Malaysian descent(«Nyonya» is a Malaysian term). Entrees we ordered included the basil ho fun, «lala» ho fun, pad Thai, basil fried rice, and orange chicken. The dishes have more of an Americanized/Asian fusion presentation, so don’t expect a wholly authentic experience here. I didn’t try the ho fun dishes, but they looked good. Ho fun are flat rice noodles that are sauteed with various meats and vegetables and mixed with a spicy sauce. In my friends’ cases, they ordered ho fun with jumbo shrimp and white meat chicken. I’d say our table was satisfied with the dishes, but that’s the extent of it. The pad Thai seemed a little pale and was not as flavorful as we’re accustomed to. The orange chicken was tasty, drenched in sauce, but got old quick. Portion sizes are quite generous and you’ll more than likely have leftovers. One quirk we found was drink refills here aren’t free. A soda cost $ 1.95 to refill. Service was fine. Finally, you enter and exit this place through saloon doors. Where am I?! #Yelp365 — 18⁄365

I must be ordering the wrong stuff everywhere I go because I can’t seem to understand how this place is highly rated. I picked up take out one night. I ordered a few dishes– they were average. The one that stands out in my mind though and the reason I will never go back is the Mango Tofu. Horrifyingly bad. It wasn’t even the sauce. I don’t know how you mess up fried tofu. If you have the sauce down all you have to do is fry up some tofu and toss it with the sauce right?…The tofu was sooooo bad– It had the strangest taste– I’ve never tasted tofu like that in my life. It was bitter and almost tasted like chlorine. I had to throw the whole thing out– and I didn’t find the food particularly cheap. When I went the place was dead empty.. .I’ve driven by a few times in the evening because it’s sometimes on my way to here or there and I always notice the parking lot seems empty during dinner.. .

I heard about this place via Unilocal for iPhone and discovered it to be near me; right off Roswell Road at Dalrymple Rd in the«Big Lots» plaza. It’s one of those places you’ve probably driven past a thousand times and never seen it or considered it. If you decide to go — pull into the BIGLOTS shopping plaza. NYONYA Asian Cuisine is a couple businesses to the Left of Big Lots. Parking is plentiful. Because it was so highly reviewed on Unilocal,we decided to give it a chance. All I can say is that I’m glad we did. We’ve eaten there twice now in one week — one dine-in and one delivery. The food is simply wonderful. Each dish we’ve purchased has been hot, fresh and delicious. This definitely isn’t your run of the mill Asian restaurant. The people are all friendly, the dining room was clean and inviting and the overall experience was very pleasant. We’re glad to have found a new neighborhood gem to satisfy our taste for Asian cuisine. Highly recommended!

I always order from Nyonya when I’m craving Asian food at home. I’ve never actually eaten in the restaurant. I’ve had them deliver food to my old apartment, current apartment and office with no issues. They’re usually pretty fast. I’ve tried a variety of items on the menu, everything from apps to entrees. Dinner portions are generous. My husband and I always order basil rolls and two entrees for dinner. We always have leftovers for another meal. The tom yum noodle soup is one of my favorite dishes. Sadly, my only real criticism of Nyonya is because of this soup. They serve tom yum noodle soup and tom yum seafood soup. Half the time I order NOODLE soup they send tom yum SEAFOOD soup. I don’t like the seafood soup nearly as much, so this is a problem. I’m just not a big fan of squid. After the first time this happened, I was careful to specify very clearly that I wanted the NOODLE soup. They’ve gotten it wrong enough times that I’ve stopped ordering it! I don’t know what the issue is. They’ve never gotten any other order wrong. It’s just some weird sticking point with the tom yum that I can’t explain… Other than that, the place rocks.

Not Chin Chin. Not Superior Wok. Not Golden Buddha. NOT never tasted so good. Picture it – you just rolled up in a sketchy lookin’ parking lot on a Friday night on Roswell Road. Big Lots is hoppin’. People need cheap furniture. You, however, need sustenance. Walk through the country western swinging bar doors in the tiny foyer, and you’re in a plain, long rectangular restaurant. Mirrors on one wall. The front register/counter on the left. Tables further back and along the wall. Tasteful, sedate Asian décor, but not like golden gongs or styrofoam Bhuddas. Just tables, chairs and a wine/beer rack at entrance to the kitchen in back. Have a seat. Check out the menu — thin and tall, a little thick, but not Café Intermezzo thick. $ 5 — $ 7 domestic and import beers. More Chinese and Japanese brews than anything. A decent wine list. Go ahead — order a drink or two. You’re gonna be here a while. There’s too much to try not to be. The rest of the menu is appetizers, soups, the standard Chinese restaurant menu categories(e.g. beef, chicken, pork, seafood, rice, etc.), the chef’s specialties, and desserts. The choices, though, are anything BUT regular Chinese faire. Hints of Chinese, Thai and Malaysian food(just like the sign out front says). Curry and coconut milk and lime and peanut sauce abound. Start with the little hats, some satay or soup. It’s all good. The hats are little half egg rolls with cold, crisp vegetables and shrimp. They come with a thick hoisin sauce and crushed peanuts. Four(4) for about $ 6. The beef satay(4 skewers for $ 7) has a nice, smokey rub and sauce. The dipping sauce it thick with chili oil and more of the rub. Or try the fresh(???) crab ragooons(a platter of 8 for $ 7) — just delicious with a nice sweet and sour oil/sauce. Too rich for some, what with the cream cheese. But they are terrific. Grab a bowl of chicken coconut curry soup. A little spicy, but strong with coconut milk, some chili oil, chicken and mushrooms. A massive bowl for $ 7. Ask, and they’ll split it into 2 generous portion cups to share with others, no charge. Now, it’s time for another drink and dinner. Pray that you didn’t eat too many appetizers or soup. There’s more to come. The prawn specialty dish is just amazing. Snag some lala beef, pork, chicken, or fish(an Asian BBQ and curry dish) for $ 13 — $ 16. Mongolian chicken looks fresh enough to have been delivered by Genghis Khan himself. He likes big portions too — enough for 2 meals. Any of the dishes come with white or brown rice — the loose, round rice and not the cheapo fried rice you usually get in cheap Chinese places. Get a massive bowl of laksa curry — like the coconut chicken curry soup but with tofu, noodles, etc. Save half for overnight and eat it the next day — it gets even better cold and reheated — the flavors steep in the tofu and chicken. The waiter, always attentive, comes to bring you another drink, clear the table and ask if you want dessert. You can’t even look at the menu, which has about 15 choices. You’re stuffed. You’ve spent $ 2 — $ 3 less for each item you ordered than you would have from a Chin Chin or a Golden Buddha. You’re satisfied. You’re NOT going to have dessert. And NOT never tasted so good.

I have lived in Sandy Springs for 2.5 years. For 2.5 years I have been searching for quality Asian delivery. Every time i try a new place I get over-fried, over-sauced, room temperature SOGGY chicken. I do. My search has finally come to rest. My friends, Nyonya chicken was a home run. A total delight. Delivery was fast, fresh and delicious! I can not wait to try it eat-in style. My wife got the Pad Thia and she was equally impressed. So, yeah. I am simple. I want quality Sesame chicken delivered to my home quickly, and I want it delicious and fresh. Nyonya you might just beat the Papa John’s on the speedial, last minute meal time list.

This is my go-to delivery place. Good quality and fast service. I also like to visit for lunch. They pass the test of having good sesame chicken. I’ve not been as impressed with their basil options as I’d like to, but I’ve got a couple other places for when that urge hits me. The rendang beef curry is one of my favorites. The coconut soup is top notch. The Tom Yum soup is very good as well. I appreciate that this place has brown rice as an option for delivery and dine in instead of white or fried rice.

Nyonya serves Chinese & Thai food — and they call themselves Asian fusion. They are not Asian fusion. The inside reminded me of the Bombay Furniture Company — probably b/c I saw what looked like armoire in the middle of the restaurant. I tagged along with two co-workers who wanted to come here. I thought why not, I love trying new places. Apparently one of them is a regular b/c our server recognized him. They have lunch specials, which includes a choice of steamed, fried, or brown rice. And a choice of soup(hot & sour, egg drop, or chicken coconut) or salad. I got the«Basil Chicken» with brown rice & salad for $ 5.99. The salad had iceberg lettuce(so I was already unimpressed) with a very orange ginger dressing that tasted too vinegary, and topped with a few fried wonton strips. Did not like at all. And the basil chicken tasted«old» to me. The co-worker who’s a regular got his favorite, the«Orange Chicken», also just $ 5.99, which is not even on the menu. His dish, was very tasty — I would definitely order this one if I were ever to come back. Did not like the color of his egg drop soup though — it was a very yellow-looking soup … like too yellow. My other co-worker got the«Curry Beef» for $ 5.99. I tasted his dish, too, and the curry was like the Indian curry — both of us expected to taste a coconut curry instead. I guess we should’ve known from the dish’s name b/c if it were a Thai curry, they would’ve called it Green, Red, Penang, Masaman, … Anyway, it’s highly unlikely I would come here again … but if I did, yeah, I would get the Orange Chicken.
