It doesn’t get any better than Operation Boot Camp(OBC). These folks show up every day with at least five instructors, so they’re able to spread themselves out within the group so everyone gets a great workout. What’s really impressive is that the instructors are able to help people who are already in great shape while also(greatly) improving people like me who are just starting out… and all of this happens while they keep the group together and at the end *everyone* walks away feeling good about the workout. If you want an environment where the people know what they’re doing and they have fun doing it, then you should really consider Operation Boot Camp. — It’s almost impossible to overstate how good these guys are.

I’ve been doing camp for a year now(10 camps in 12 months). During that time I’ve lost 46 pounds and went from tight 38″ pants to loose 34″ pants(not quite to 32″ yet). My first mile run PT test time was 9:18, and my most recent was 5:42. Camp also got me started down the path of being a runner, and I regularly run 5 and 10K’s and am planning on my first half marathon in the near future. I started camp to try and get my workout on track, with no intention of turning into a camp addict. But it turned out that the quality of the workout and the environment just clicked with me and I’ve kept coming back. Before I started I was worried that camp was going to be some sort of yell-fest, but it isn’t like that at all. The instructors push you out of comfort zone at every workout, but they do it in a positive and encouraging way. They definitely care about their campers, and are focused on helping you reach your goals. Even though my fitness level has greatly increased over the last year, they find a way to challenge me every day and I always get a great workout. I’ll keep coming back to camp for as long as they’ll have me.
