I really wanted to like this place. I really did. But I’m struggling with giving them the rating I am. Let me explain. I’ve been here twice, and both times I’ve been disappointed with the professionalism occurring at this«spa.» The first time I went here, I had the groupon. I was impressed with how lovely the place is. I was super excited when I saw all the premium brands of polish they had, too. This first time, I went with a friend who did not have the groupon, so while I was supposed to be getting a pampered me mani/pedi, my friend just paid for the basic. Even though we’d had made reservations ahead of time, the place was very sparsely staffed. While the person doing my mani/pedi was super nice and professional, I think she forgot I wasn’t supposed to get just a basic, so basically got the exact same services as my friend, except I paid even more. To top it off, they strangely had some sort of birthday party for a little girl whenever I was about to get my manicure, so my manicurist rushed off to help while I soaked my hands in water for 15 minutes. After the lackluster experience, I decided to call and complain, and was impressed that the owner seemed to listen to my complaints and offered to get me a real pampered me mani/pedi for free. I figured okay, I’ll wait until the second experience to review this place. Maybe it was just an off night, since the owner told me that she wasn’t there that day. I had an appointment at noon and showed up about 15 minutes early. Apparently there was some sort of mix up, and they thought I was coming at 11. Okay, no big deal. Something that I found incredibly unprofessional is that while I was waiting for my appointment, the person who did their threading was sitting in a client seat, taking a nap. Really? The owner saw this and did nothing. She also chatted up two clients who came in after me and totally ignored me. Okay. What bothered me, however, is that the owner set up the tub for me(which, by the way, is beautiful granite, but very uncomfortable to set your feet on when the pedicurists are taking care of your feet), then basically just left me there, feet soaking, for over 15 minutes. By the time the pedicurist who was finishing the manicure of another client came over, the water was tepid and my feet were pruned. Meanwhile, the owner sat there, chatted with clients, and did work on her computer in the sitting area while I sat there annoyed, on my iPhone as I had nothing else to do. The person who did my mani/pedi was very professional and extremely nice. I managed to mess up my toenails TWICE, and she fixed them up, no problem. I really appreciated that. What I did not appreciate, however, was how the owner and I suppose one of her girlfriends, treated the mani/pedi area. They seriously sat around doing nothing but talking very loudly in the area. I started to think that maybe the owner didn’t start out my mani/pedi while waiting for my esthetician to finish up because maybe she didn’t know how to do a mani/pedi, but then another cilent came and she had no problem doing her feet, so I don’t understand why she’d let a client sit there for over 15 minutes. At one point, she and this friend/client — who had finished her mani/pedi right as mine started as we had the same esthetician — were laughing so loudly it turned into shrieking, and basically this friend/client sat up on the chairs for the pedicures and was either talking about her wedding plans or trying to peddle her business to the woman that was there. Either way, not terribly professional conduct. The owner, as I was the only person she never bothered conversing with, didn’t realize until I went up to pay, that I was the unsatisfied customer that she had been trying to please, and didn’t seem the least concerned about her behavior or the way she runs her«spa.» So, I guess if you want to go to a beautifully decorated place with great etheticians(except I wouldn’t trust that threadder, considering she likes to take naps out on the floor in front of potential clients — I had thought about getting my eyebrows threadded until I saw her doing that) and really delicious smelling products, but very poor management, then by all means take your chances and come here. I don’t think, however, that I’ll be going back anytime soon.

Went here with a friend to(both) get mani/pedis. Such a cute spa and the staff were funny and sweet. The brown sugar scrub they make smells SO good and my hands and legs were so soft afterward, I couldn’t stop touching my skin. Also, the woman who did the hand-painted designs for my pedi did a great job! I told her to «surprise me» and she totally picked a design that was in line with my tastes and helped bring out the color of my polish. To top it off, they offered my friend and I a complimentary glass of wine. I had a great experience. Will be returning when I’m back in town, and would definitely recommend to others.

This place probably would have had a solid four stars if I had not made an appointment on my lunch break, showed up on time, and then got informed that they were running 10 minutes behind which turned out to be 20 minutes behind, which is kind of a big deal when you’re coming here on your lunch break from work. I HATE when I am made to make an appointment and then an establishment is nonchalant about it. I also had a Groupon for it so when I said that I was now in a bit of a hurry, I was asked if I just wanted an express mani/pedi, which, no, I wanted what I paid for. Anyway, they got it done, I was late getting back to work, whatever. They did a good job on my toes and fingers, it’s peaceful and relaxing, all the scrubs are made there(and apparently all the stuff used for facials is made there, too), the people are nice, and they have lots of polish colors to choose from. It’s a totally acceptable(and even good) place to go for relaxation and if you are not really on any sort of schedule. Also, this place used to Cure and now it’s called Pampered, but it’s the same spot(although, I’m not sure if it’s the same owner).

What a pleasant and modern spa. I was instantly impressed with this place – it’s gorgeous, modern, relaxing, and has an open air sort of feel to it. They offer you a nice glass of wine while you get your feet done which helped me relax even more. But the main thing that’s worth going back for is the nail tech who did my mani-pedi. I hate that I didn’t get her name, but she was a young Asian woman – the only one there that fits that description. She is very knowledgable about affairs of the feet and hands and seems like the perfectionist type. She was very gentle and took good care to do everything just right. I got many compliments from others about how good my nails looked afterwards. I would definitely go back. The owner was also there and seemed to be careful about making everyone feel as comfortable and relaxed as possible. Two thumbs way up!

So this past weekend on my way to listen to some dope spoken word artists in the Southern Fried Poetry Slam, a chic little urban spa on Nelson Street caught my attention. Breaking stride, I detoured in the spa, greeted the owner and told her I would be back as I jetted out the door with a flyer. As soon as I got home, I looked up her website and decided to get a facial the very next day. Walking back in, I was instantly recognized and warmly greeted by the receptionist and owner. I requested my service(walk-ins are welcome) and my facialist Shawna ushered me to humble little room in the back. She told me to relax and explained that all the vegetables being used on my face were natural and from the Iwi(«It is what it is.») Fresh skin care line. Yep, you read right. She put veggies on my face! I thought I was going to smell like a farmer’s market(Uh…That’s not sexy), but to my surprise the products smelled exotic and absolutely delicious. With every treatment, I found myself breathing deep to take in the wonderful new aroma. For an entire hour Shawna cleansed, scrubbed, treated, toned, moisturized and massaged my acne-prone skin into submission. The results were phenomenal– Smooth and glowing skin that smelled divine. How you can sleep when someone is massaging everything on your face including your eyelids? I have no clue, but by the time she started massaging my neck and arms I was slipping in and out of consciousness. All in all, the Pampered Nail and Body Spa is a great place to unwind. I love everything about it. This spot is fresh, trendy and clean– Expect to get a pedicure minus the harsh fumes of traditional nail salons. At Pampered, the focus is on staying beautiful, naturally. I’ll definitely come back to get their Signature Facial once a month as recommended!

What great place! I was fortunate enough to get the groupon for a mani/pedi and a friend and I went to the salon on Saturday. The place is adorable, the staff was hilarious and friendly(I had Tina and my friend had Virginia) and all of the products used were natural and left our skin feeling unbelievably soft! They were exceptionally clean. All of the utensils that were used were opened from a new package. The building has a parking deck, which makes parking super easy. I live in mid-town, but I will definitely be back to get the new gel color on my toes before heading to the beach!

What an excellent way to kick-off the weekend after a not so great week! I had TheGreenHalf coupon for the facial, mani and pedi and the whole experience was wonderful. Yolanda, one of the owners did my facial and since she also developed and makes most of the products(the iwi fresh line) it was a delight to spend time chatting with her about her garden and her engineering background… go figure! My face felt great(not to mention smelled great) and I was super relaxed. Virginia did my hands and feet and again the products are just fantastic. They have OPI and Zoya nail polish and while not quite the massive wall of the typical strip mall nail spot they have the perfect selection of colors to choose from. For my hands I usually only get them buffed now since between working, exercise, a new puppy and life I tend to chip the heck out of them, well surprise, surprise! For about $ 20 more, which could be considered steep, but for nails as pretty as these it’s more than worth it, you can have OPI’s new gel colors. There aren’t many colors to choose from and I started with a light pink, but they bake under the UV light and they are rock hard when done. It just takes soaking in polish remover to take off, but I can’t wait to see how these last! Definitely check them out! Great little find in the middle of Castleberry Hill.

I just went to Pampered last weekend and had an amazing experience! The staff was warm and friendly, and they treated us like royalty. We spent a few hours in the salon, chatting with the staff and having a great time together. My pedicure was fantastic! I highly recommend Pampered and can’t wait to go back in a few months for a friend’s wedding.
