Peachtree Neurosurgery

I was recommended to Peachtree Neurosurgery by Kaiser after seeing my primary care physician for ongoing back and leg pain. This is by far one of the nicest practices I’ve been to. The office and staff are top notch and made me feel so comfortable during my first appointment. I had all my tests done before my appointment so when I did meet with Dr Walkup and his PA, we were able to discuss the options available to me. Dr Walkup made me feel at ease and spent time with me answering all my questions and really listening to my concerns and questions. When I left, we had decided on a treatment plan that matched my lifestyle and needs. My surgery was February 20^th and again, Dr Walkup was absolutely incredible. He met with me before surgery and afterwards went out of his way to explain my procedure to my family. While I’m still recovering, I can already notice a vast difference in my lower back and leg pain. Peachtree Neurosurgery continues to be helpful and available when i have questions. Taylor did an amazing job taking care of my disability paperwork. I’ve already recommended Dr Walkup to friends and colleagues and will continue to do so. I was pretty frustrated prior to my visit with Peachtree Neurosurgery but they were able to take a dismal situation and help create a plan that is getting me back to my old self. Thankful to Kaiser for recommending them and fortunate that I was able to work with Dr Walkup on improving my health and life.

Deserves less than 1 star! Dr Walkup appears to have zero concern for his patients. Apparently he’s too important to meet with them in person, passes them off onto his RUDE physicians assistant and uncaring staff. Unless you are paying him for a major surgery, you can forget about seeing him in person. Sure, you’ll get heavy narcotics, but no real care or concern. FIND A BETTER DR!!!

Some how it feels odd writing a review about my neurosurgeon… but…Dr. Tomaras is fantastic! He removed my tumor… and did it with great humility and caring for the patient overall… I can highly recommend him to anyone that needs a neurosurgeon!

Kaiser Permanente sent me to this specialist, otherwise I would have gone elsewhere. I was treated for a fractured cervical. Upon my last visit, Dr Walkup’s young assistant released me to return to work with no instructions whatsoever. No recommended neck exercises, nothing. He also had the nerve to write on my work release that my job performance would not be affected. Excuse me but I’m on my feet most of the day and was in a lot of pain when I returned to work, who asked you anyway?, I simply asked for a release to return to work. This practice has recently relocated off Hammond near Perimeter Mall. I will hopefully never have to return there, they are obviously uncaring and disinterested in a proper recovery (since I was dismissed with no instructions or exercise recommendations for my healing broken neck).
