Picasso’s Loft

No, no, no. As Jason pointed out in his review, there is no ambiance here. This is an art gallery as well in the space, hence the name «Picasso’s Loft» I imagine, but the atmosphere was very underwhelming. The employee there was nice, so that deserves a star. The ice cream was more boring than Baskin Robbins (and had way less than 31 flavors) and had no imaginative flavors at that… pistachio, chocolate, vanilla, strawberry, rocky road, superman, etc. It felt like the owners ran out to Kroger and bought whatever there was on sale. No frozen yogurt or gelato. My husband said his ice cream tasted old and stale, as was his cone. The toppings bar was mislabeled – reese’s was actually butterfinger. For a funky, hip neighborhood like Little Five, this place has to do better and come up with funky, hip ice cream flavors like its competitor down in the Edgewood Retail District.

I hate to give a low first review, but I guess my expectations are set a little high from some of the other Froyo places I’ve been to. Picasso’s Loft had a pretty decent topping bar, but only had 4 yogurt flavors (Chocolate, Vanilla, Original Tart & Strawberry-​Vanilla) and it really had no atmosphere. I’ll probably try it again because it’s right in Little 5 Points (next to Savage Pizza) but, «meh» is just about right for this visit.
