Got here at 7:50 am, there were others waiting in the lobby. A worker showed up at 8:03, she was the only one in the entire office. Still waiting to be helped and for other people (it’s 8:15). I thought that when it says hours of operation are 8−4pm. On a side note the lady that did show up on time was very helpful and kind.

The clinic literally opens at 8:00 on the dot, so don’t expect to be helped before opening time like some other doctors do. Generally their days are fully booked and when you are a walk in chances are you have to wait for 2 hours, so I’d definitely schedule an appointment. Their service is good though, and once you’re in the room they’re respectful and friendly. No bad experience there. They helped me in the cheapest way possible for birth control as well. Better than my regular physician, Mrs Patricia Lloyd.

They put up with so much and still always provide me with thoughtful and competent care. Thank you for all the decades of medical access !

I have visited this location of Planned Parenthood multiple times, and they are always very helpful when you are there in person. Need something and you can’t go ask in person? Don’t even bother! First you call them and get connected to their voice answering system, that can’t understand a word you say. I haven’t once been connected to the right location or mailbox.
This week myself and my pharmacy have both been calling them about a simple prescription refill, which I was told I could get when I was last there. They did not call me back or the pharmacy. Eventually I left a message for someone different asking about the refill, and she finally called me back and said she would give me one, instead of the 6 I was told I could have, and the nurse in charge of refills would review my chart and see about the rest (where this nurse was all week long I don’t know). She told me she was giving me the refill and calling my CVS to get it done.
That was three days ago. There is still no refill at my pharmacy, and now the window of time that I was supposed to start using it has passed. I was not even able to leave a message about it because while they are closed, they only transfer you to an ‘emergency’ number that is unable to transfer you to any of the mailboxes.
I am very disappointed in the service I’ve received this week.

I give PP this many stars because it deserves it for all intensive purposes. You’re not at a top-​rated OBGYN. You’re at the last resort/​cheapest place for feminine healthcare in Atlanta. I have been to PPs in other cities before, due to lack of insurance. They’re efficient (usually) and get the job done. Basic annuals, prescription refills, and emergency visits for minor issues are what I’ll hit up PP for. In fact, even after I got insurance here in Georgia, I continued coming here for annual exams because they were so much cheaper than going to another doctor (yes, even WITH insurance).
I’m here today for a quick check up. Now that I have killer health insurance, it just figures I can’t get into any office for an appointment. So PP, here I come again.
This place has (paid) parking on site (it’s not cheap! I spent almost $ 9 to be here for just over two hours… sigh). It’s in a convenient downtown location. They DO take appointments now (on both Tues/​Thurs) but I’ve often waited an hour or more to be seen even with a set time. So I decided to take my chances as a walk-​in today. I arrived at 7:40 and two women were already here. By the time doors opened (on time at 8) there were about 10 people waiting. And the line kept growing…
One lady told me, even with an appointment, they see people in the order of what you’re in for. Mondays are busiest. If you just need the pill, call them first because it might save you more time. As the third person on line, I was the third person called in. It appears the actual physician assistants don’t arrive until 9 a.m. so you’re showing up at 8 a.m. just to be first in line. You will still have to wait.
I was finally done at 9:50 a.m. (total bummer, I thought I’d get in and out in a snap… but I needed to get in to see someone ASAP, so this did the trick). The good news is, now they accept multiple insurance types. What would have likely cost me $ 80 cost me $ 12. Gotta love that. The P.A. I saw was also very thorough and helpful, and I felt like I received decent treatment.
Have patience with the women who work here. They work hard and deal with a lot of crap (and crazy women)! If I was the receptionist, I’d be a bitch, too. So I just try to be nice and hope it helps me in the long run (it sure can’t hurt).
Overall, PP is great in a pinch — but if you have insurance, skip it!

This place is not a spa, but for someone who doesn’t have insurance, it serves its purpose. I got seen by a nurse practitioner who was friendly enough, but she really didn’t spend that much time talking with me. Still, $ 130 for a Pap Smear (based on my earnings) and about 2 weeks later I got my results. My appt. was early in the morning so there wasn’t a long wait.

When you need them, this is a good spot. I will totally agree with Alexa on the waiting thing– with no appointments, go prepared to spend a little quality time. That being said, my three stars are due to the fact that when you’re between jobs (read: insurance), this is the best place to get your birth control. Even if you pay full price (they have a sliding pay scale based on your income), they might still be less expensive monthly than your insurance copay was, AND they’ll supply you with up to a year’s worth. Reason enough for me to deal with the hassle and the downtown parking!

Okay after seeing Noelle’s review I had to write
reminded me of some not so good times.*shudders*… I went to the Atlanta location a few years ago after moving to Georgia and not having an established Doctor, so In the meantime I thought well I’ll go here to big deal… WHOAA big mistake!!! (I would definitely give this place a –5 If possible!!)
1. they don’t take appointments… only walk-​ins… so you can get there at 10am and wait until 2pm just to be seen!
2. Scary Scary women go there… I swear I might have seen a few on the Atlanta PD’s Vice arrest web page!
3. The scary scary women mentioned above made me hesitant to even sit in the chairs… who knows what in the world I could have picked up. lol
4. The nurse was rude and got an attitude with me, and I’m pretty sure she gave me my shot extra hard on purpose and didn’t even cover it with a bandage afterward… and I was bleeding!
