First timer and very pleased! Service with a smile, friendly staff, enormous portions quality meats and full stomachs. So glad I found this place. We had the Eastsider, Jack Stack, The New Yorker and American Club. The teens loved it, hubby was taken down by the Jack Stack and the slaw and thousand island dressing on the eastsider was a hit. Will definitely be back

Incredible bang for your buck. You can get a double meat sandwich for like $ 9, an incredible price given the location and quality of the sandwich. Nice menu w a good variety of sandwiches. I would definitely go back again.

Sandwiches were big and great. I got 2 regular ruebens a soup and a drink for 27.15 so it should have been a good portion of a sandwich. The gumbo is not gumbo, more like a spice broth with rice because it’s gluten free(no rue) so the sauce isn’t thick. The lobster bisque taste good but has no lobster meat to speak of and the soda is from the boylans bottling company. I love boylans. Overall I think I would go back again, I had a good enough experience. P.S. The chocolate chip cookies are good too. They are 2.30 for one large palm sized cookie.

Reuben’s Deli is a New York style delicatessen in Downtown Atlanta’s Fairlie-Poplar Historic District near Georgia State. The deli opened in 1996 and is located on a small stretch of Broad St that contains several restaurants including Ali Baba’s(Mediterranean), NaanStop(Indian), Rosa’s Pizza, and Dua(Vietnamese). This place is known for its overstuffed sandwiches(especially the Reuben); grilled foods such as Philly cheesesteaks and hot dogs; and soups, salads, meats, and cheeses. This is a traditional deli where you stand in line, order, and pay upfront. There are two separate counters: one to order coffee and restaurant-described«frou-frou» drinks(e.g. mocha, latte, hot chocolate) and one to order sandwiches and other food. Bottled beverages, fountain drinks(Coke products), tea, cheap disposable plastic cutlery, napkins, etc. are self-serve. The place has table seating inside for 32 customers: 20 in the back and 12 in the front near the big storefront windows. The storefront sits in front of a concrete and brick sidewalk that contains additional seating outside. The wide sidewalks make this block pedestrian-friendly. The interior is decorated with black and white framed photos of city buildings and old baseball players plus Georgia State paraphernalia and cartoon caricatures. I wonder what the story is behind the latter. Free parking is rare or non-existent in this part of town. Your best bet is to street park, either directly in front of the restaurant or nearby, or park in one of the parking decks downtown. Either way, you’ll have to pay to park. The street spots are metered and enforced by PARKatlanta. Reuben’s Deli offers over a dozen different kinds of 1/3-pound«signature» sandwiches. Most of these run about $ 7 – 9 each. Examples include the Classic(roast beef, corned beef, turkey, slaw, thousand island), Eastsider(hot corned beef, hot pastrami, slaw, thousand island), tuna and chicken salad melts, and New Yorker(hot corned beef, hot pastrami, Swiss cheese). You can also customize your own sandwich from a bevy of bread, meat, cheese, topping, and dressing/sauce options. Deli meat examples include ham, capicola, salami, bologna, pepperoni, and liverwurst. The deli utilizes Boar’s Head and Thumann’s meats. I believe they may use the latter for their hot dogs of which they have a few varieties: Atlanta made with chili, slaw, and cheese; Chicago made with mustard, pickles, tomatoes, and peppers; and New York made with deli mustard and sauerkraut. Dogs are roughly $ 4 – 5 each. Breakfast is also served and includes items such as omelets, scrambled eggs, biscuits, pancakes, and bagels with spreads and toppings like schmear and lox(brined salmon fillets). The bagels are H&H brand bagels from New York. On their menu, Reuben’s Deli proudly describes their Reuben as being«#1 rated by Unilocal»(photo: ). I can see why. It’s absolutely delicious and ranks up there with the Reuben sandwich at Capozzi’s New York Deli in East Cobb( ) as one of the best Reubens I’ve enjoyed in metro Atlanta. In general, the sandwiches here are packed to the brim and often overflow with ingredients creating a messy, but delicious sammie eating experience. The traditional Reuben comes with quality corned beef served with kraut and Swiss cheese. You can also get turkey and pastrami variations. The grilled rye bread is appetizing and the sandwich is delectably meaty. Overall, this is simply a filling, satisfying sandwich that I have no reservations in recommending. Another sandwich I’ve tried is the Jack Stack. Holy crap is it huge. It comes with jerk and blackened turkey, pork sausage, bacon, provolone, pepper jack, and spicy mayo. It’s a struggle just to take a bite out of this sandwich due to its sheer size. Photo: . It’s a piled high monstrosity of turkey goodness. They do not skimp on the meat. Another food you can get at Reuben’s Deli is Knish. Knish is a popular food in New York with Eastern European and Jewish roots. You can sort of think of it as a large potato dumpling. Reuben’s serves their knish New York style with strong spicy mustard. The knish is about the size of a couple slices of bread. It’s dense and mainly made out of mashed potatoes. The exterior is slightly crispy, similar to a fried or baked breading. The inside has a smooth consistency reminiscent of some samosas. If you’ve never tried knish before, I suggest ordering it. The fresh-baked cookies(e.g. chocolate chip, 3 for ~$ 2) and coffee drinks($ 3 – 4 per) are pretty good as well. The Caffe Nocciola(espresso, hazelnut, cocoa, steamed milk, foam) may be frou-frou, but it’s sweet and tasty. Service is good. The staff is friendly and everything is made to order. If ordering knish, you’ll want to give the kitchen an additional 5 – 10 minutes.

I’m actually sort of ashamed of myself for not yet giving these people the Unilocal credit that is due… that’s how good this place is!!! This is a lunchtime staple and the fun location on Broad makes this a cozy place to do lunch. Their sandwiches are literally the best I’ve ever had in my life!!! I really don’t see how anyone could have rated this place less than 5 stars. The people who work there are great too… they are fun! When you visit, get ready to yell your order out, watch your delicious creation make it down the line, and know that you will be licking your fingers at the end and thinking about what you’ll try next time.

The lobster bisque was horrible. Watery no crab or even anything else that’s substance. The crackers were stale also. Now the corn beef sandwich on rye was great and tasted great. I did not like the fact that I told the girl I wanted everything on my sandwich and had to ask her again to add oil vinegar and the spices. Everything on a sandwich means Everything. That’s why I leave a 2 star. Sandwich was great not the best in the world(but good for the area) service sucked. I don’t like being rushed so this is a good sandwich shop but leave that Attitude out and don’t get lobster bisque from a sandwich shop.

This place was AMAZING! I got the Lox egg onion on pumpernickel bagel and it was fresh, crispy, and oh so flavorful. Service was quick and courteous. They don’t have soy or almond milk, but that won’t stop me from coming back!

Great sandwich spot! Pastrami and cornbeef are great quality, reminds me of the good delis in LA and NY. I got the eastsider on marble rye, it would have been perfect if I ate it warm, other than that it was a great all around. The wife got the New Yorker and she thought it was good however they put the deli /Dijon type mustard that threw the sandwich off a bit for her. We will definitely stop by again.

Philly steak on a white hoagie with provolone and the works is a solid sandwich. The pasta salad was very good also. I can’t believe I didn’t know about this place before today. This place is family run and delicious. I ordered online and the entire process was impressively efficient. I will definitely be back!

«The President would prefer a sandwich. He says roast beef will be fine, pastrami, sliced steak…» — The West Wing: Season 1, Episode 19 You all know me and know I love a good sammie — my father and grandfather were the kings of the sandwich. So when it comes to a true Deli — my dad’s side of the family is Jewish — I know when someone is doing it right. Reuben’s has broken the code, my friends. First, finding this place is weird. It is at the end of a maze of one-way streets and you are convinced you are driving down alleyways to get there. Second, parking sucks. You’ll have to find street parking a block or so away(but luckily it is all tied to the Park Mobile app, so it’s easy to pay with your phone) and huff it over. There are 3 spots to park out front — also paid, but odds are they will be taken and you will have to circle another few times to find a place. So don’t bother to chance it — just park when you find a spot and walk. When you walk in, you immediately smell all those familiar smells — roasted turkey, pastrami, spicy mustard, rye bread, etc. You know you are in the right place for a delightfully filling sandwich. The menu is filled with the standard run-of-the-mill selections, but then there are their specialities. Trust me, they are worth it(and HUGE). Since it was my first visit, I opted for the Eastsider. This meant I could get both pastrami and corned beef — hot. They top it with 1000 Island dressing and coleslaw. You select the bread you want(I opted for rye, but then later realized they had marbled rye) and they make it fresh while you wait. I also ordered a knish and a bag of chips(they sell Zapp’s, but did not have voodoo, my favorite) and a drink. The sandwich came up almost immediately — impressive since I showed up with 11 people — but had to wait a which for my knish. We sat in the back of the place and took up 3 tables. The sandwich was huge and so full of flavor. The saltiness and meatiness of the two beefs with the sweetness from the dressing and the crunchiness of the slaw — add in the caraway bite from the rye bread and I think I had the perfect sandwich. By the end, I was eating it with a knife and fork as the slaw had soaked into the bread so much, but that bread was some of the best I have eaten. They so not skimp on ingredients here. The knish — pronounced KA-nish — is a fried dough stuffed with mashed potato(sometimes meat) that is a polish street food. Often accompanied with a spicy mustard, it is a personal favorite of mine. I ended up devouring it and skipping the chips(officially not a fan of the Zapp’s sour cream and onion). I was so full when I had finished my sandwich and knish that those chips were not needed. The iced tea was fresh brewed and free refills were included. My sandwich was $ 7.19 and to upsize that to a combo was just $ 2.29 more. Adding in the knish was $ 2.69. I probably would have saved $ 1 skipping the chips that I ended up throwing away. But with tip $ 15 for lunch is not bad at all considering how much food I got, plus the free refills — a great deal and amazing food. I’ll definitely return.

Here for the weekend for the Primerica convention and was looking for a quick place to grab some lunch and saw this place had good reviews and was right down the street from our hotel. Decided to give it a try and was not disappointed. It is the biggest, best sandwich I’ve had to date from a deli. I’m from oklahoma and I haven’t been to a place that makes their sandwiches this big! I had the hot and bleu, double meat.

I had a really good sandwich here. «The Classic» meat to topping and bread ratio very good. I’m sick and tired of skimpy sandwiches you get in a lot of self proclaimed sandwich shops around town. I’ll definitely come back. Good location Broad Street has a great feel to it in general. They use boars head meats. Good, but not enough for the 5th star.

Normally not really a Deli kind of guy! But love Ruben’s Deli and Claudio! You won’t find a better Deli Sandwich in Atlanta. Forget all those sandwich chains this is the place for a Real Sandwich. Crocodile Dundee, «That’s not a sandwich, this is a Sandwich». If you are in the Five Points area of downtown Atlanta and you need lunch for a meeting, you can’t go wrong here. Just a great variety of sandwiches to suit every taste. Best Sandwich Shop in Atlanta bar none!

Decided to give delivery a shot for lunch since Jimmy Johns and the mall food can be only eaten so many times a week. Whoa! So glad I did. Online ordering was a breeze! They even have a little status indicator that shows Order Received, Making Food, Food Ready and Delivering. The site said about 30 minutes and sure enough, my food came promptly and warm. I ordered the Hot & Half sandwich with Lobster Bisque soup. The sammich was only ½ since I ordered the combo but that was more than enough! I chose Rye bread and it was nice and fresh along with The Works for toppings. Ingredients were all fresh and my sandwich was delicious! A bit of spice, and very flavorful. The Lobster Bisque was tasty. Not the best I’ve had, I like mine a little creamier but I still ate everything. They don’t offer anything aside from water and carbonated drinks unfortunately. So I opted for Smart Water and a bag of Jalapeño Zapps as my Combo. Delivery was a pie and my card was swiped upon receipt of my goodies. I will definitely order again!

I was in downtown Atlanta around lunch and wanted something real filling. I saw the reviews for Reuben’s Deli and thought it would be a good opportunity to try this place. The deli is on an interesting little street that looks like an outdoor version of mall food court. The street is lined with various fast food establishments. It looks like it caters mainly to the Georgia State crowd and downtown workers. On a Saturday, when I visited, the area was not too crowded. The deli is a valuable addition to this street. I’m giving an extra star for the huge size of the club sandwich I ordered. The meat was good quality. The dressings were fairly basic, lettuce, tomatoes, and mayonnaise. The pasta salad I got was also good, but a little small in size. I’m not really complaining, though, because you can’t really beat the price on what I got for lunch. They also have some really huge cookies that they sell for around $ 2 that looked real tempting, but I passed. The service was friendly and fast on this quiet Saturday. I’d didn’t see any rudeness that some other reviewers have commented on. I’d definitely patronize Reuben’s Deli again the next time I’m in the area. It’s a much better choice than the fast food places nearby.

Deli in the middle of Broad Street, surrounded by a wealth of other food options. Like other reviewers have said — try and know what you want before you go in, or just ask for the daily special. They get(kinda understandably) pissed if you’re holding up the line deciding what to get. Sandwiches are great. Huge amount of meat(I didn’t even ask for an extra meat portion). Bread seemed super fresh. I went on a Wednesday lunchtime and got a seat, it wasn’t crazy busy. 2 dollars extra for a drink and chips/pasta salad. Just ask for the«combo». Overall a great place for lunch during a day of sightseeing in downtown. Just don’t expect any shred of southern hospitality.
