Sunday brunch nice atmosphere very crowded must make reservations, great menu. But for a vegetarian choices are limited. Definitely need soy milk for coffee and be more conscious that everyone doesn’t eat pork. Menu modifications is not allowed. Omelet was a little on the hard side. Whole wheat pancakes delicious

My friends and I came here upon based on Unilocal reviews and general word of mouth, and came with moderately high expectations for brunch. Atmosphere of the restaurant was relaxed, with a full bar(several bottles of what I can assume are homemade bitters and several top shelf liquors), dim lighting which could pass for either a posh brunch or classy dinner. We were seated on a high bench and high tables, which was slightly uncomfortable considering that there was no foot rests, and it was personally unsettling to have my feet dangle aimlessly about underneath me. The server was eager to tell us about the menu and gave recommendations. We started with the sweet corn muffins, fried cheese grits, and chicken liver toast. The corn muffins were dense, sweet, but slightly savory paired very well with the jam(albeit tiny muffins, and questionably so considering the price). The fried cheese grits came off as a surprise as we only received 3 of them which are in small ball form. They were delicious and crunchy on the outside, but again portions are questionable for $ 6. The chicken liver toast was decadent, the pâté was smooth to the palate, but the overall dish was way too cloy and heavy. The addition of bacon to pâté is a great idea, but there was nothing to balance out the fatty flavors. Granted there was what seemed to be a balsamic vinegar reduction and pickle relish, but rather than add acidity it more so added more saltiness and was more for show it seemed. It was tasty, but poorly conceptualized. Granted this is not what gave this restaurant a 2/5, we had ordered the«ultimate pancake» which was a stuffed pancake full of bacon, sausage, scrambled eggs and maple syrup. Everything was well cooked and delicious except for the most important thing, «the pancake» itself. The pancake tasted sour and bitter, as though something had gone horribly wrong. It tasted as though the sour buttermilk in the batter had either gone bad or the pancake itself had not been cooked through. At any rate, it pierced through all the other components of the dish making even the syrup taste bad. My friend asked if it was supposed to taste like this, to which she came back and said no(the chef tasted it) she offered to give us another dish of just pancakes instead, to which the pancakes tasted exactly the same, sour and bitter, but with blueberry butter this time. The butter was delicious, but the pancake was not. Mistakes do happen and that is sometimes forgivable(except for blatant food poisoning), but to repeat the same mistake twice after knowing what was wrong is unacceptable. It was upsetting because all the other dishes were good for a place that is known for brunch. Had we not also ordered the fried chicken sandwich(which was quite good), this may have been a complete disaster. I can only assume that the dinner menu is much better, but hopefully this was a one time incident and that quality control was just bad that day.

I made a reservation for a party of 5. We were promptly seated and our drink orders were taken immediately. Service was exceptional. Our appetizers included brussel sprouts and spicy saltine crackers with pimento cheese. I didn’t choose either of these. I really disliked the brussel sprouts and the rest of our party didn’t love them at all. They were drizzled with a sort of sweet and sour sauce that did not compliment the salty broiled sprouts. The pimento cheese was very good, but the spicy saltine crackers were weird and did not compliment the pimento cheese. I ordered blackened grouper with crawfish sweet potatoes and mushrooms. Rosebud has just updated their menu, so I was disappointed that they were not serving the usual Friday night special, which was crab cakes. My grouper was cooked perfectly, but I didn’t like the pairing of the sweet potatoes with the saltiness of the grouper. Every dish seemed to contain a sweet element. I do not like the sweet and savory combo, but maybe that is just me. Some dishes came with watermelon relish, which just sounded terrible to me. My boyfriend ordered the seared tuna and he thought it was okay. The other dishes ordered were the fried chicken, chicken liver ravioli, eggplant purée and crab ravioli. Everyone of us agreed that the food was mediocre at best for the price. If it weren’t for the atmosphere and the service, I would have given the food 2 stars. We probably won’t return.

This has been one of my favorite restaurants in Atlanta for the last few years. I always make it a point to visit for dinner or brunch while in town. My husband and I were in for brunch on Saturday, 8⁄1 and were incredibly disappointed. Right when being seated I ordered a glass of orange juice and a water, my husband a coffee and a water. When she returned we placed our order to start with the house pimento cheese and I ordered the crab Benedict, my husband the«surf & turf». The pimento cheese came out and it was delicious but before we even had a couple bites each our meals came out so the pimento cheese was barely touched. After that the service just continually declined from there. The«surf & turf» was ok but nothing special. The Crab Benedict on the other hand was AWFUL. The English muffins were soggy and barely toasted. The crab cakes lacked any flavor and there was barely enough hollandaise to cover the poached eggs. I asked the server for a side of hollandaise and it took over 10 minutes for her to return with it. By then the entire meal was cold an unappetizing. We also never received our additional drinks or had our water glasses filled throughout the entire meal even though we were told repeatedly she’d be back with our drinks and more water. With as many good restaurants as there are in Atlanta, I can’t say I’ll be back next time I’m in town.

Wanted to check out Rosebud after seeing its Unilocal reviews and was easily able to grab a Saturday brunch reservation. Service was fine but the food was nothing spectacular. What rewards the two star review was the pancakes. We first got the filled pancakes, which came out sour and bitter. We asked our server if it’s supposed to taste like this, to which she responded no to and took it back into the kitchen. She came back with another batch of pancakes, which were still sour and inedible. Besides the whole pancake trauma, the fried chicken and fried cheese grits were decent; while the chicken liver toast could have used more acidity(especially with adding bacon to an already fatty dish).

Glad I made a reservation! This is a neighborhood hot spot for Sunday brunch and there were people everywhere. The space is super small but has a cute rustic feel. The server was okay(he seemed concerned with the larger groups he was serving) but if we needed something, we were lucky enough to be seated smack dab in the middle of the restaurant so getting a server’s attention was pretty easy. I had the shrimp and grits which was full of sausage, shrimp, onions(not an on overpowering amount), tomato sauce, and flavor! The portion size was really good for the price and I was definitely satisfied. Rosebud has been added to my brunch list!

I adore brunch at Rosebud! Our last trip we started out with the house-made pimento cheese, which is delicious, but I’m not a fan of the Rosebud saltines that accompany it and the sweet corn muffins with seasonal jam — yummy. It’s so hard to decide what to choose for a brunch entrée as every menu item described sounds delicious. We ended up ordering the Crab Cake Benedict — soft poached eggs, remoulade & hollandaise; The Nasty Royale — french baguette, berkshire ham, brie, truffle scrambled egg & truffle honey mustard; and The Ultimate Pancake — stuffed with local sausage, smoked bacon, scrambled egg & Vermont maple syrup. Every dish was superb but my favorite was the Crab Cake Benedict. And what better cocktail to enjoy while eating all of this delectable food — the Orange Stillman(vodka, orange crush, champagne & fresh o.j.) served in a 32 oz. mason jar. Great service, drinks and delicious food guaranteed! All worth the price point.

Drink: pecan old fashion Caesar salad with anchovy Farm Trout: grained mustard whipped potatoes and brussels sprouts 1. The food quality was great! The food tasted fresh and flavorful. I mean, I can’t stress enough how delicious the food was. If I said my eyes widen on the first bite, could you relate? Then that’s how amazing the dish was. 2. The service was adequate. Ya know, refill water, checked if you needed anything else… blasé blasé. 3. The ambience definitely made my dining experience extra special. Good spot for birthdays, anniversaries, and small group get togethers. 4. I feel the value was fair for the food quality and service. The bill for Caesar salad, old fashion, trout entrée was about $ 40. Overall: great dining experience… highly recommended… I would definitely come back.

My friends and I came for a birthday dinner tonight and had a pleasant experience at Rosebud. The venue has a lot of versatility — people could come in for a casual meal or elevate it to a classier gathering, which is nice. It was a little crowded, given it was around 6:30 on a Saturday night, but our group made a reservation beforehand so we were seated right upon arrival. Our server was a really friendly woman who was eager to converse with our table and give suggestions on drinks. When telling us the specials of the night, however, she stumbled over the menu and didn’t seem to know the dishes as well as she should have(minor detail though). I would say compared to other restaurants, the menu did seem a little limited in options; because they have a set menu/seasonal menu, it’s not very expansive, but they do cover a range of items: seafood, pasta, poultry, beef, etc. Everything arrived in a timely manner: drinks came out shortly after we ordered, bread/butter given and restocked, water refilled without us asking, food arriving about 20 minutes after ordering. Some of the dishes we ordered from the night: spicy rigatoni, burger, buttermilk-fried springer chicken, butternut squash ravioli, pulled-duck risotto. Overall, the food was tasty. There’s a southern flair to the dishes and it felt home-y yet sophisticated at the same time. The seasoning on all dishes were well-balanced, and I enjoyed my rigatoni; the oysters seemed like an unexpected element to the spicy pasta+andouille sausage, but with them deep fried and tossed in, it blended well with the other flavors. Solid service, good meal, satisfied customers. I’d recommend this place!

Soccer games on TV, good coffee and Sunday brunch. It would be great if you can reserve a spot. Otherwise, like us, we waited 30 minutes for seats. We ordered brunch surf and turf, and chicken biscuit. I love the presentation, and the fried oyster. But the ham(maybe smoked) is way too salty, so is my friend’s biscuit. On the other hand, the coffee is good. There’s subtle sourness in it. They are very busy, which probably why the dishes came in 30 minutes.

I booked this brunch via Open table without realizing that booze couldn’t be served until noon and we had a 1030 reservation. Luckily, no booze means that not that many people were there and we were in and out in no time. Mom and I opted to split everything because we knew we would be eating later. We started off with the fried cheese grits to start, followed it with the chicken and waffles, and polished the whole meal off with some delicious vanilla bean ice cream. Other than the law not allowing the restaurant to serve alcohol, and the pasty chef not working on Easter — which meant there wasn’t much of a dessert menu, this place was one of the best places I have ever had a brunch.

My husband and I have come here many times for brunch and it has become one of our favorite Sunday brunch locations. Update: 6÷6÷15 of lately the food has been pretty inconsistent. Some days it has been exceptionally good other days just basic and other days quite bad. Since my first review I have since updated and had to lower my stars due to inconsistencies. I guess we are now looking for a better brunch place maybe home is the best place currently.

As someone who has lived mere miles from Rosebud for a while, I am completely ashamed that it took me so long to stop in and eat here. I can safely say that it was definitely my loss because I had been missing out on an AMAZING place. Joining me on this first time adventure was my sister, which also had been a dummy and never eaten here… We started out with the crab cake appetizer sided with six oysters on the half shell. My god, fresh was the theme here with both. My sister who has always been scared of oysters broke down at my persistent requests and tried one… and she LOVED it! I mean, what was not to love about them. Chilled, fresh, large and oyster-rific. After we attacked the apps we moved on to the main courses. While I am a huge fan of shrimp and grits and never shy from ordering them when I see them on a menu, the fish special caught my eye on this evening and that is what I ultimately committed to. And I was not disappointed with that choice. Grilled fish placed in a savory broth topped with asparagus and bacon… I mean, come on… if you are not driving to Rosebud right now in search of this dish, then shame on you! My sister ended up going with a salad topped medium rare steak, cucumber, roma tomatoes and crumbled blue cheese all coated with a tangy, yet smooth vinaigrette. She was thoroughly impressed and satisfied with her choice as well. The overall theme of Rosebud is fresh, local and most importantly delicious. I was very impressed with every part of my culinary journey here. The service doesn’t suck either. They are friendly and knowledgeable with every dish and interaction. Now that I know what I had been missing out on, I won’t go long without stopping back in for another amazing meal! Rosebud, I love you.

The worst thing to do in a restaurant is beg. At Rosebud I begged… okay really I pleaded. I pleaded with the waitress to take the menu from me because the longer I looked at it„ the harder it became to pick out something from the 20 things I wanted to order. So be prepared. Rosebud is popular. All the time. Make a reservation. Go to Opentable and make one, right now. I went without one. Foolish, I know. But it resulted in me sitting at the bar. And I really like sitting at the bar and bartenders, and sitting at Rosebud’s bar did not disappoint. Bar sitting is first come first serve so if your waiting and you see some seats, grab them, quick. Service was great at the bar. Think about it. You are always staring in the face of your server. But she kept trying to get me to order another more Orange Stllman… I don’t know why… but I am so glad I did order one! If you like mimosas turned up order the Orange Stillman. Its delicious and enough to keep your thirst buds in check. The food… I been to Rosebud before but my palette has grown and so has my appreciation for this menu. SO many yummy things but I went with the Brunch Surf and Turf. Poached eggs(if you don’t like runny eggs you have 99 problems), oysters, ham and pimento cheese. I mean come on! Sounds yummy right? Oh man it was delicious. I threw some hot sauce on it, and it was perfect. Perfect. My friend had stuffed pancakes. Oh man, another yummy creation. Sausage, bacon, and eggs in a pancake? You should be on Opentable right now!!! I finished off with a Blueberry Royale and it was good. It was a champagne brunch, why not!!! You will enjoy Rosebud, just make reservations and be prepared to search for parking. But it is worth it.

Rosebud is the first of «Angry Chef» Ron Eyester’s Atlanta restaurants. It’s located in Virginia-Highland next to his other restaurants: neighborhood bar The Family Dog and local pizza joint Timone’s. Chef Ron also owns Diner, his newest restaurant in Atlantic Station. Rosebud is a popular neighborhood restaurant featuring creative and original American/Southern fare and, like his other restaurants, utilizes local and seasonal ingredients. Rosebud is a casual restaurant with a classy atmosphere. It’s a fun place to eat and often busy, so reservations are recommended. There’s a bar and a few different dining rooms, some of which can be reserved for private parties. The décor is traditional with lots of dark woods and cool-looking exposed-brick walls. The restaurant can get loud. Fortunately, not so loud that you have to strain to hear others at your table. Since opening in 2009, Rosebud’s menus have constantly been changing. Each time you come in, you may see new and different dishes to try. At dinner, appetizers range in price from $ 8 – 12, entrees $ 13 – 26, and sides $ 4 each. I’ve tried several items. They include: Oysters Seared George’s Bank Scallops Braised Chicken Ravioli Turkey Burger Cranberry Mac ‘n Cheese Spicy Rigatoni Buttermilk-fried Springer Mountain Farms Chicken The Oysters are good. The Family Dog serves them too. They might serve the exact same oysters. I’m not sure where they’re sourced from. The Spicy Rigatoni dish uses Gulf oysters, so these might be from the Gulf as well. These are fresh, medium-sized oysters. They come with a cocktail sauce and a mignonette made with chopped shallots and a light vinegar. Lemon wedges and crackers are served with. A half dozen is $ 11, full dozen $ 22. Four plump succulent scallops comes with each order of the Seared George’s Bank Scallops. They’re served atop a bed of sweet potato-truffle grits with a side of pineapple-caper relish and sprouts on top. The scallops are a little bit salty, but otherwise tasty. If you like scallops, you should be satisfied with this dish. The sweet potato-truffle grits are addicting. The truffle flavor is subtle. The small pieces of pineapple are ripe and sweet. The Braised Chicken Ravioli, a seasonal dish, is amazing. I’m a fan of ravioli in general and Chef Ron hit it out of the park with his version. Big pieces of ravioli are served atop a squash purée and they come with brown butter, kale, fennel, a sprinkling of Calabro Romano cheese, and pecans. The ravioli are delicious. I especially like the smooth squash purée, which perfectly accompanies the pasta. Of the dishes I’ve tried at Rosebud so far, this one is probably my favorite. Rosebud has several burgers/sandwiches on its menu. The Turkey Burger is flavorful and filling. It comes with grilled pineapple, Vermont goat cheese, and a mildly spicy sambal mayo. The lightly toasted, glistening, and buttered bun might be the best part of the burgers here. The Cranberry Mac ‘n Cheese tastes exactly how it sounds. This side is served in a small black iron skillet with handlebars. The macaroni are short and straight and cooked with a relatively light, but appetizing cheese sauce. The cranberries add a sharp, tangy flavor to the dish. Not bad. The Spicy Rigatoni reminds me of the simple, signature pasta dish at Gio’s Chicken Amalfitano in Westside, except without chicken of course. Instead, it comes with local Spotted Trotter andouille sausage, Gulf fried oysters, San Marzano tomatoes, and local greens. The entrée is actually not too spicy and is a well-rounded and satisfying bowl of pasta. The highlight is the savory local sausage. The Buttermilk-fried Springer Mountain Farms Chicken is a staple dish at Rosebud. I think it’s a permanent fixture on the menu. It consists of a boneless breast, mashed potatoes, green beans, Southern slaw, and gravy. The chicken is lean, high quality, and cooked well. The breast is laid between the mashed potatoes and gravy. The slaw is thick-shredded and crunchy. Not too much mayo, which is a good thing. The green beans are presumably blanched and lightly seasoned. Excellent green beans. Lots of people like to come to weekend brunch at Rosebud. That’s something I still sorely need to do. Hopefully, an update after that. Service is great. Book your reservation through OpenTable to earn free dining points. Note if you have a group reservation, the restaurant typically won’t seat you unless your entire party is present. Free parking is available directly on the street(N Highland). Free parking is also available in the parking lot across the street. Finally, if you can’t find parking there, you can park in the Alon’s/Family Dog lot.

Came here for a birthday brunch and the menu is fun and has great descriptions. I tried their kale and celery juice, ya know to keep the health level up and to make up for my brunch meal lol. The juice was green and yummy! I’ll post a picture of it. I got fried chicken on top of a biscuit with grits. Their grits were so good. The shrimp and grits are yummy too! I wanted to try the stuffed pancake but I opted not to from advice from my friends. But I regret it! I didn’t really like my meal. The biscuit was hard and too much chicken so I gave away most my meat, ate grits and threw away the hard biscuit. With all that said. It’s still a good brunch spot. Just be warned of a long wait if there is no reservation especially on a Sunday!

BESTBRUNCHINATL!!! My favorite is the Blackened Shrimp Omelet, DELISH! The tomatoes and avocado are super fresh! They can accommodate any side, so I got a side salad with red wine vinaigrette and it was paired perfectly. My fiancé got a side of grits and I took one taste… they have a garlic and onion flavor and were pretty good. Coffee is strong and their tropical green tea is AMAZING! We will definitely be back!

I have been to Rosebuds a few times now and have been slacking on writing the review. This most recent time was for a private event, where the host requested a more narrowed down menu. After the amazing 4 course meal I ate, I HAVE to write a review. Each table shared 4 appetizers: 1. Calamari — Nicely fried, sauces were decent. Not a bad app at all, but definitely not the star(3⁄5) 2. Tempura eggplant — Really flavorful sauce, good fry and not greasy(3⁄5) 3. Country Ham Bruschetta — Divine! The mushrooms, ham and cheese were so tasty! I wanted to eat more but had to save room. This was the star app of the night. My husband keeps raving about it too(5⁄5) 4. Pimento cheese — I am usually not a big cheese person, but this homemade cheese was really good. I would definitely order it again. Creamy, salty, flavorful(4⁄5) For the salad, I had a Cesar salad, which was good. You cannot go wrong with Cesar salad. Slightly salty from the cheese, crunchy from the croutons. Always goodness. My entrée was the Wild Georgia Shrimp and Grits. It had a red tomato sauce with tons of flavor. The shrimp was cooked well with the tails left on. The grits were fluffy and creamy. And the sausage was incredible. This is one of their most popular dishes and I totally see why.(5⁄5) Last time at the restaurant, I had their special, which was a shrimp and grits with rock shrimp and bacon. That dish was too salty and the shrimp were fried. Certainly not as good as their classic menu shrimp and grits. I’m glad I have this version a try. I And I must add… Their entrees are huge portions. You definitely get what you pay for!!! And some more. My husband ordered the strip steak that came with truffled cauliflower mash. I didn’t taste the steak, but it look like a great medium cook. But I did try the cauliflower mash. It was SO great that I have to specially mention it! I wish I could take a bowl home and eat it now! For dessert, I had the Nutella Chocolate Pudding! I know that just sounds perfect and it tastes how it sounds. Perfect. The portion is again huge! I wish I could have finished it all. I had to stop myself or else it was going to hurt later! I am a fan of Rosebuds! Great staff, décor, and ambiance.

The food and atmosphere were really good. I’m only here visiting and I wanted to try a good southern brunch place. Rosebud definitely hit the spot for my craving. I ordered the cheese grits as appetizers and they were delicious! Ordered a mimosa and the crabcake benedict. It was one of the best benedicts I’ve had and the crabcake tasted like fresh crabs. Would definitely come back to this restaurant.

I LOVE coming here! I’ve been quite a few times for dinner, but I want to try brunch soon. My menu highlights: crispy brussel sprouts, calamari, shrimp n grits, burger, seared tuna, and some cajun-inspired pasta dish that I can’t remember the actual name of. Everything I’ve tasted there has been great though, I don’t think you can really go wrong. Service is excellent every time. Only docking one star because it’s just a bit over priced for me.
