Wow it saddens me to write this but… Since Adams departure, change in management the place is not the same… the food is not if good quality… I don’t know what happened however it’s just not the same… I think they need to do whatever it takes to get Adam back… he was a great manager always greeted us made us feel like we were at home… I hope this place can survive this transition. and get the food quality back up.

Nice patio, great pint of Guiness beer and sexy waiters. Patrons are entertaining and handsome.

Roxx is consistently delicious. I particularly like their salads – the black bean hummus one is awesome, and anything w that basil ranch dressing that they have is good, too! The prices are reasonable and they always have great specials. The patio is great, too. Service an be a little slow sometimes, but always super friendly and accommodating. It’s a staple for me for lunch takeout and happy hour. Oh, and beware, their drinks are STRONG! :)

It’s not good when you feel sick to your stomach when you leave a restaurant, with after-effects in the morning. The hamburger tasted all right, but was ordered medium well-done, and very definitely was not. Blood dripped onto the plate as I lifted it to my mouth. The potato salad, however was delicious. Wonder if it’s made in-house, but kind of doubt it. I ordered a Malbec purple wine. It came in a glass smeared with lipstick on two places on the rim, one very conspicuous, the other not. My friend’s wine glass was also lipstick-stained. When I asked the waiter to replace the wine with a new pour and not just a new glass, he looked a little askance. Sorry, but when I’m served a drink in a dirty glass, I really don’t want whatever is on the inside of the glass transferred to the new glass. When my replacement glass came, it was similarly spotted and with noticeable fingerprints on it and also had a(this time small) lipstick smudge on the lip of the glass. I drank perhaps one small sip before noticing. Again, my friend’s glass was also smudged. I can only come to one of two conclusions: Worst case scenario, the glass was just wiped with a(hopefully clean, but I doubt it) cloth and returned to the table, or best case scenario, all the glasses are dirty. I would recommend replacing the dishwasher and the bartender. My dad owned a bar, and I grew up with him dealing with his poor cracked hands, because they were always in hot water, but his glasses were always clean. I’m not advocating cracked skin on the hands, but there are good gloves that can be used to protec them. In retrospect, I should have refused to pay for this $ 9 glass of wine that I couldn’t drink. Instead, I will just never eat there again. And yes, I gave the waiter the exact amount of the bill. I have a chronic habit of over-tipping, so I am not by nature stingy, but when you ask a waiter to replace a dirty utensil or glass or plate, you should be able to expect him to make sure that whatever replaces it is clean.

Roxx rocks! What a great neighborhood bar. This is one of those friendly places where you get to know the people sitting next to you at the bar. What great food! What a fine selection of beer! What more do you need! Would you ever expect to find such a great steak at a tavern? I was kind of in the mood for a steak and the bartender recommended the ribeye. It did not disappoint. It was cooked perfectly and what a great flavor. The steak was very tender. The menu claimed it was prime beef and I have no reason to doubt that. The steak rivals some of the best steakhouses around. It also came with mashed potatoes that were also very good and perfectly cooked broccoli. And this was less than $ 20! Not only do they have a fine selection of beers on draft but they also have quite the variety of bottled beer.

I came here with a friend to start off the night with some food and drinks. I got the sriracha fried chicken sandwich with fries. It was all pretty good, but what I didn’t like was that our service was really slow considering the restaurant wasn’t very crowded. This had us staying there a little longer than intended.

I never write reviews but feeling very compelled. Roxx has always been my «go to» place, near and dear to my heart — like the«Cheers» to our group of friends. Since the change in management at the end of 2015(with manager, Adam’s departure), I’ve seen a significant drop in quality all the way around. The food — being the most important in terms of quality — has declined. The wings for example, used to be the best in town — always cooked to the perfect consistency, flavor and texture. Now, the meat has the texture of rubber, the seasonings have changed maybe, or there’s been a change of some kind and the wings are not to the standards they used to be. Salads are arriving a little more wilted and cocktails have gotten pungent. We ordered one of our favorites the other day — the potato ruins. They no longer resemble the crispy, herb-up tasty fried potatoes. They were shriveled and sopping in oil. The staff is the second and most significant change. What I loved about Roxx was the most personable, friendly wait staff. Of course, Adam the manager was the ‘papa bear’ of the establishment, always walking around personally talking to everyone in the restaurant. The rest of the staff were just as personable. Now, servers are in a hurry, distracted and unresponsive. For example, one of the servers while taking our order never smiled, seemed pressed and continuously looked around the restaurant — for what, who knows? But welcoming, Roxx is no longer. We’ve given it 3 – 4 good visits since September of 2015 and find the results to always be the same. I hate writing this, but until Roxx can provide a boost in quality in all these areas, I won’t be going back and that’s a sad thing to say after so many years. Now, if you have never been before and experienced how it used to be, then it’s a so-so place for cheap food and drinks and the atmosphere is always casual with a fun vibe — give it a try. However, if you want top quality food and service, wait until they pull it back together.

Over 50 of us had brunch here this morning. The staff, as always, went above and beyond to handle our huge group. Special thanks to our server for her amazing service. Theresa, you are the queen among all servers everywhere!

The service is always good. My other half and I visit here often on dates and the staff is always polite. The food has always been prepared fresh and reasonably quick. I would say I’m a definite fan. I wish I could remember the newer girls name… she’s super sweet and would give her kudos… she worked at Maggiano’s before this. I’ll edit this once I find out. :-)

Since Adam Adams left, management is poor, seating is poor, responsiveness is poor and food quality has gone downhill. This will be a last visit at this place until they can clean up their act.

Pretty good food, great staff, plenty of cocktails to choose from. Went here on a very crowded Saturday evening with a friend and this seems to be a good place for both meeting friends or taking your family. Despite the crowd, we were seated quickly and did not have to wait long for our order to arrive. After our meal, we were able to sit and chill for as long as we wanted without feeling we were being rushed off.

Food was good, our server(La) seemed to forget the welcoming personality. It wasn’t busy and seemed just to be a attitude adjustment that was needed.

A wet Sunday, not busy… So why did the table(both parties of two) next to us who got their 15 – 20 minutes later, get their food first? When asked ‘it’s on its way!” — food arrived lukewarm. Service was ‘meh’, food was very ‘meh’. Odd how the drink menu is getting bigger and the food menu smaller? Why is the online menu the ‘old’ menu? There are so many other choices out there. Why this one then? Generic service and lackadasical food just don’t cut it any more… Even when the owner sent out ALL those VOTEFORME! VOTEFORME!!! msgs for Best of Atlanta… you have to EARN that love first. next.

This place is great! I see people complaining about waiting for food, but it’s a small place and when it’s packed, which is almost every time I’ve ever been there, you’re gonna wait. If you’re in a hurry, go get fast food! The cooking is all from scratch and they serve up the southern love! Huge portions for decent prices, jeez, yes! The drinks are also really well priced and a couple cocktails will have you floating. The bartenders really whip up some amazing drinks, which isn’t something that happens a lot in smaller places. You are def not getting a half assed drink at ROXX. The vibe here is great too, open and cozy with a little bit of an outdated feel. I love it. The service is great!!! Every time I go it feels as if my server is greeting me like an old friend and it makes my experience that much better. Also, brunch here is amazing. They have like 7 different kinds of bloody Mary’s and the menu is delish. Obviously, I’m a ROXX lover and if you go here, I’m sure you will be too. One of the best places in midtown, not to mention Atlanta!

Apparently this is the place that everyone drives by and knows about, but never really goes to until a friend recommends it. This was my experience. I’d gone on a Thursday night, and getting there around 8:00PM, the place wasn’t packed necessarily, but the parking lot certainly was. I’d ended up parking behind someone who’d parked on the side of the street themselves. It didn’t seem like a «No Parking» zone, but I’d prayed quickly I would still see my car when we’d gotten done dinner. I wasn’t actually certain what to do upon entering, so I was thankful to have a seasoned Roxx veteran with me. We were to wait for seating, and ended up with a corner booth by a couple windows. I’d ordered a hot tea, and ended up ordering a veggie burger with the veggie Cajun toppings(including jalapeños and avocado, a pretty good combination!). I’d listened to what the specials might be, but none of them seemed non-meat, so I’d just gone with the menu. My friend went with a fried chicken breast with mashed potatoes and greens, which looked heaving on his plate. My dinner was *so filling*. I think it was partly the fat crinkle-cut fries, which I’d relished, and I’d positively devoured my burger. They’d served it on this artisanal-looking bun that has a sweetness to it, and I love by bread. My tea never did come until we’d started talking silently about the fact it never did, but I’d shrugged it off saying it was okay; then *like that* my tea arrived(pretty lukewarm, but the server apologized gushingly and said he wouldn’t charge me for it). I’d already finished my dinner, though. I wasn’t about to ask for half-and-half for my tea(being Jamaican, I *have* to add that to black tea; it’s how I’d grown up having it) since there was going to be no charge and didn’t want to seem ungrateful for the work toward service recovery. I casually/gingerly sipped the tea, adding a little lemon juice with the provided lemon(all the while thinking«this is how people drink this?!»), but ended up not finishing it since it was sub-lukewarm, and I wasn’t able to make it the way I’d truly wanted it. Thinking about it, though, with the water being the temperature it was, the half-and-half would’ve made it icy anyway. We’d ended up getting dessert, and I’d gone with the only delicious-sounding non-chocolate option being the apple crumble, which surprisingly they serve with a large scoop of vanilla ice cream and a generous spray of whipped cream. It was pretty delicious and sweet, though because my dinner was so filling I’d only been able to eat of it before giving up. I’d fought to finish, but the full stomach/brain chemical combination won. So, I wouldn’t say this would be my first choice in recommending a place to eat, though I would go if someone asked to meet there. If you’re into very leisurely dining, this is a place to go, I think, because we’d gotten in at 8:00pm-ish and didn’t leave until minutes to 10:00pm. And thank God my car was still there, because it was raining a zoo when we’d left.

What a hidden gem. The service is great, the food is amazing and the drinks are strong! Very«family» friendly if you know what I mean… and that makes for a very comfortable environment. John waited on us and made it very special. He took care of our table throughout the night. Ask for him!

I have eaten here for years with varying levels of food and service satisfaction. Things have really begun to slide this year as the food is terrible and the service worse. The front and kitchen staff is always turning over if that is any indication. I have usually stopped by here for convenience but will hit Johnny’s Pizza next in the future. Cheshire Bridge needs a nice little pub/restaurant in this area — and Roxx isn’t it.

Ok, so I gave this place just one more chance. What a difference from my last visit. My server Terry, was awesome. Made sure we were well taken care of and answered all our questions about menu items. He suggested the pork special and the chicken salad, both were perfect. On this visit, unlike other visits. The food came out hot and made perfectly. Did they get a new chef? Also, the food came out really quickly compared to my other 5 visits. Looking forward to going back… want try the desserts next time, heard they are homemade!

How many times have I driven by this place? I never gave a thought of stopping here, until I was invited by some friends and had to Google Map it. Oh, who knew? Not me, that’s who. Did you know that this building used to be a McDonald’s? Looks a lot bigger but I was sitting on the patio, the former McPlayground. Good Peach Blini Martini. I am in Georgia and at a «gay» restaurant. Let’s give it a try. This is more of a sophisticated gay restaurant… old money, but I saw some of everybody here including beards, newlyweds with baby stroller, and couples who reminded me of HGTV episodes of «House Hunters». I ordered the fried shrimp with a side of broccoli(substituted for fries) which was good but the servers where a bit confused. They were in between shifts when we arrived and we were left waiting and waiting until we had 3 servers while they ironed out the details. They finally got it together and I enjoyed my first experience here.

I’ve been here 3 times & the food is FANTASTIC… OMG I don’t understand why they are not busier… well that’s unfair to say I’ve come after 10pm during the week… The last time I had the NY Strip … Steak was cooked to perfection. This time I order the soup of the day which was homemade Greek soup called AVGOLEMONO This was so delicious I looked up the recipe to make… My entrée that I ordered the French Quarters which was this Tilapia grilled topped with shrimp in a Cajun sauce served with dirty rice & steam broccoli… THISDISHWASNOTHINGSHORTOFAMAZING… and the prices here are perfect… GOODQUALITYFOODPREPAREDBY A REALCHEF… I will be making this place a regular. My very first time I came here I ordered just a grilled chicken sandwich… Which not much u can do with that. it was good but I should have really checked out the whole menu which has an array of food… What we ordered tonight came to just $ 33 can’t beat that…
