I found this place via drive by while it was being built & was super excited that it was so close to my house. I probably eat here once to twice a week. Everything is so fresh and the place is always clean. I have tried just about everything on their menu(soups, salads, sandwiches, wraps). I’ve never had a bad experience with them. The owner is a really nice Asian man who knows me by face now. The coconut corn muffin is something I get every time I go. You can get one for free by checking in on Unilocal and showing it to the cashier ;) parking is tight but so worth it. If I could give this place more than 5 stars I would.

I felt like I went to the vegetables garden. That’s how fresh the salad bar. Soup & chili is awesome. I think I wisely spent my lunch money today. Half salad & soup will fill you up.

I don’t normally do salads, however, they have a veggie wrap that you can get grilled which is great!

I’ve actually been looking for a legit build-your-own-salad spot in ATL that isn’t Whole Foods, and I discovered this place while browsing through my Scoutmob app(50%-off Scoutmob deal btw). Overall, GREAT find. When you choose to build your own salad, you have choices for types of greens and up to 6 toppings. Protein is extra, but they are priced fairly imo. I appreciate that all the toppings are prepared in small«salad-eating-with-a-fork friendly» pieces, and the workers are pretty generous even with the portion-specific ladle. All the ingredients in my salad were really fresh, and [needless to say] my salad was delicious. Their vast menu also includes signature salads, wraps, and sandwiches; I’m definitely coming back to try them. Great place for a very solid, clean meal. Could even make realizing those ‘healthy’ new year resolutions at least a little bit easier.

I came here on Wednesday afternoon for lunch. I decided to build my own salad for $ 6.99. You can pick from several different greens, veggies and toppings. I chose to keep it simple: Romaine Lettuce, ham, eggs, cucumbers, tomatoes, onions, and ranch dressing. The salad is HUGE! And I highly suggest to spilt it among two people. Ingredients all fresh and ready to order. Needless to say I approve of Salad Express. For a healthy/light lunch or dinner.

I went out with work friends for lunch. Salad Express offers salads, wraps, and other hot items such as sandwiches, soups(different offerings on different days), loaded baked potato. You can also get combos. Tons of salad dressings — which is good for a place that serves up lots of salad. I opted for a loaded baked potato and chili. I thought both were good, but felt that the staff were skimping on the toppings for both. I wanted tons of cheese and sour cream. There was a Scoutmob deal, but I didn’t bother to check. Oops. I would definitely try them out again.

I met up with a good friend of mine for a rainy day dinner. The space was empty but from the reviews I didn’t mind staying regardless of that usually being a bad sign. We both ordered different salads. I was surprised by how the limited six toppings isn’t that limiting at all. Like the other reviewers mention, do ask them to go light on the dressing if you’re counting calories. The greens were fresh and tasty. I wish there was a salad express closer to areas I live and work.

I’m so glad I found this place. I love salad and soup and I was looking for a restaurant to eat those items, so I looked up the Unilocal app and o found it. The price is good and the place is clean. They have 4 types of soup and many salad options. They also have baked potato that seems delicious but I didn’t not try. My 2 year old loved the chilli soup! They also have warm muffins that are yummy. If you want to eat healthy and tasty try this place!

Very nice and clean place. Even the bathroom and kitchen area seemed super clean. The small salad is not so small. Get a belly card to get good deals. There were a lot of people around for supper, which is probably because they close late. Good long hours.

One doesn’t always desire fine dining. Trendy, modern restaurants often blend into each other, with their rotating cast of cuisiniers being passed around from one to another more than that chick who dated every guy, and at least one other girl, from your circle of high school friends(I’ll assume she was named Ashley… She usually is.). Sometimes you want good, simple food, served on unremarkable dishes. Maybe you’re wearied by yet another reinterpretation of a reimagining of a reduction of a rehash of the return of the son of a hot dog, with a witty or punful name(maybe«Reyam Racso» or «Dank & Messy James»), consisting of the contents of a lamb sausage being squeezed like toothpaste onto a chilled slate tablet smeared with papaya jam and sprinkled with fennel and yam chips, looking like something your grandmother with dementia might serve. «Oh, look… Nonna gave you a handful of potpourri on the broken brick she uses as a doorstop. Don’t be rude; at least have one piece. And don’t forget to thank your Nonna for the pickaninny doll she sent you for Christmas. You know she means well.» So then, you should just make something at home in that case. Right? A salad? A wrap? Well… perhaps. Doesn’t take an engineer to make a salad, after all. Heck, when you think about it, an engineer is probably the last person you should trust to make a salad. You might even have all of the necessary ingredients for a satisfying salad or wrap… But, you know what? Sometimes you just don’t feel like bothering with it. Last time I made a decent salad at home, it took thirty minutes to make something that I spent four minutes eating, and all I had to show for it was a sink full of dirty dishes and a craving for a pound of sirloin. Well, Salad Express eliminates most of the hassle, and for a reasonable price. Walk in, pick a signature salad or wrap, or point and grunt at the glass to build one with your own choice of ingredients. Greens plus 6 ingredients: $ 7. Forty cents for each additional. Everything is pretty standard; a better selection than you might find at your local Ruby Tuesday, but nothing too fancy(no hearts of palm or artichoke or roasted red peppers, for instance). All ingredients are prepared fresh each morning. I’ve had my share of greenery from the original location, in Peachtree City, over the past few years, and I finally made it out to this newer location to see how it compares. Generally, they don’t mess with the system that works. Add chicken, shrimp, and/or avocado for a little extra. Opt for a combo with soup or a sandwich and a half-salad. Unfortunately, half-salads aren’t available outside of a combo, and given the substantial size of their salads, you may wish they were. You get perhaps a dozen or more dressing choices, and there’s even a nifty list posted on the glass, outlining the caloric content of each. If you prefer your salad in tube form, then the wrap is where it’s at. Their wraps are large enough to serve as a meal. They also offer other items, such as chicken breast sandwiches and assorted soups. In my experience, these are best skipped. Although they claim to use shrimp and chicken that has not been previously frozen, these are cooked fresh each morning, and not to-order. The soup is little more than a liquid medium for getting salt into your body. They offer turkey chili, chicken noodle, and vegetable soups. Plain and coconut cornbread muffins are available(and come as a side with salads), and aren’t bad. Bottom line: Simple food that will kill you somewhat more slowly than most of what you cram into your face, and at a reasonable price. Sure, maybe it’s not quite as thrilling an experience as the AYCE buffet at your favorite strip club, but you also will never find yourself wondering what’s splattered on the glass between you and the veggies(hint: it’s not called a sneeze-guard at the titty bar). Given the location(Cheshire Bridge at LaVista), you may want to plan not to come during rush hours, as this area seems to be a vortex for the worst drivers in Atlanta, and public parking is not particularly plentiful(a handful of spaces out front, and in the deck, shared among the other businesses) unless you park at the Publix across the street. Overall, 6.5÷10.

I’m such a fan of this place. I use to work right around the corner, but since being laid off in June, I have no reason to be on this side of town, so I was happy when someone asked me if I wanted to meet them right off N. Decatur Rd for lunch. Close enough. This is a build your own salad place, well technically, you don’t build it, you tell the person behind the counter how you want it built. 3 people today and our salads came up to $ 34. The other two people had no problem with calling the place bougie, cause three salads, a bottle of Dasani and a cup of sweet tea was almost $ 40. I almost reminded them that it cost more to eat healthy, and the three of us would have spent much more, had we gone to Chili’s or Applebees or some other restaurant. The salad base price is $ 6.99 and you get six topping and then each additional topping is 40 cents. You don’t realize how few toppings, six toppings are until you are trying to build your own salad. Everything is super fresh and you can also add either, salmon, chicken, steak or shrimp. Those vary in price from $ 2.00-$ 3.70, the good part is croutons are free. Generally, I go with the half salad/half soup, and get the turkey chili. They also have wraps, and some what they call famous salads, which basically are the Caesar salads, Greek or spinach salads, I figure, who goes to a build your own salad place to eat«pre-made» salads. I can never quite finish my salad as they load you up with everything, so I recommend a to-go box when you start getting your salad made, so you don’t have to go back and request one. They have a good number of dressings to choose from, my fav is the creamy parmesan peppercorn dressing. Get it on the side, as they load it up also. I don’t quite know how to describe the parking situation, it sits within a community that houses 3 apartment complex, but has maybe 20 parking spaces designated for the retailers in the center, but there is also a gym and nail shop and other businesses located within, so maybe they have a parking deck or other parking that I’m not aware of, but each time I’ve gone, I feel like there is only one parking space and I am pulling into it.

Let’s just say… This was one of the best salads I’ve had in a long time. The ingredients were simple and most importantly fresh! I will definitely be back soon for another salmon salad with raspberry vinaigrette dressing.

Salad Express was SUPERDELICIOUS!!! I had the Grilled Veggie Salad with salmon added(extra $ 2 – 3). It was sooooo good! To my pleasant surprise, they grill the veggies & salmon FRESHTOORDER! so there’s a little wait, but totally worth it! My husband had the Buffalo Chicken Caesar Wrap, which he said was good, but has some kick to it! It comes in a spinach wrap with croutons(which is different, but good for crunch and texture… although my husband thought it’d be better without) My son created his own salad, loved it, but said we would have liked less dressing. TIP: get the dressing on the side… they are quite generous with the dressing. Oh, and they are VERYGENEROUS with the toppings!!! Which makes the $.40 per extra topping not so bad!(Avocado is $.75 for a half and $ 1.50 for a whole… tofu is $ 1) We will definitely be back!

You searched for salads on Unilocal and this came up huh? Don’t deny it, today is a healthy lunch day for you, but I won’t delve into the details of why you are passing up one of the burger joints in the vicinity. ITSANOTHERBUILDYOUROWNSALADPLACE. Oh wait, Atlanta actually does not have very many, so it’s very welcome, especially for the price point they hit. BUFFALOCHICKENWRAP: probably a mistake, but whose you ask? Maybe theirs for inventing it and mine for ordering it. Although all the ingredients were fresh and the price was good, it just did not taste very good. SALADSAREAWESOME, and priced very well. With a scoutmob, they are literally a steal. Had a very filling meal for two at around 10 bucks. CASUAL, SIMPLE. Stacking them up against other similar spots I’ve been to, like F2O locally and Tender greens in Cali, this spot is much more basic, but prices are also lower.

Such a simple premise, but one that works so well: build your own(plentiful) salads with super fresh and interesting ingredients. I’ve never gotten a full salad because I’ve generally found that the half salad + cup of soup combos are PLENTY of food. With a «half» rather than full salad, you still get choice of greenery(romaine, spinach, or some spring mix I believe), plus five toppings plus your choice of dressing! The turkey chili is pretty standard, but filling. The clam chowder is quite delicious… If you get either of these(or any of the other soups, though), I do definitely recommend the cornbread – surprisingly tasty for a place that doesn’t specialize in baked goods! Overall, there’s a diverse enough array of salad topping ingredients to keep me coming back to try all the possible permutations, and well-made support items(i.e. muffins, soups) that help round out the meal.

This place is very clean & quick. Portions are huge. Ingredients are fresh. Really like the concept. You’ll spend about $ 10 on a build-your-own salad. I’d get it to go, because it’s a lot of food. Great place to grab lunch.

I’m not often in this area of town but wanted to meet up with a friend for lunch today and he suggested it, probably mainly because(as I’m reviewing) there’s a ScoutMob here. I’m all for fresh, healthy food so I said, «sure! let’s try.» So not disappointed. Not only not disappointed, but thrilled even. First and foremost: the food is *delicious*. Fresh and tasty. We both ordered the«build your own salad bowl» option which lets you choose a) your choice of greens b) six toppings and c) choice of salad dressing. If you want more than six toppings, they’re only 40 cents a piece. And you can add on protein as well: chicken, fish or steak. I opted for steak on mine. Don’t let the picture fool you. The steak I added was not pre-prepared cubes from somewhere: they actually cook it up to order and then cut it up into bite-sized pieces for your salad. So just as fresh as the veggies. And incredibly affordable too! The portions here are HUGE! I ate until I was full and then still had to take home more than half of it for dinner. How lovely! In addition, the staff was super friendly and helpful as well. Definitely going to come here again!

I’m a FAN!!! While out with a friend and looking for food, we stumbled upon this place and I’m glad we did. Its basically one huge salad bar. You can choose to create your own masterpiece or you can order one of their creations which is what I did; for $ 9.99 I was able to order half of a grilled chicken sandwich and half of a salad. We did pay extra for the salmon on the grill salmon salad I ordered, it came with lettuce, tomatoes, almonds and eggs tossed around in balsamic vinegarette dressing. It was Nice!!! My friend created his own salad, they allowed him 6 toppings, he also ordered a bowl of Turkey chilli. I didn’t try it but it looked really good. The restaurant was nice and cleans and service was extremely friendly. It was an overall great dining experience. I asked about other locations, and was told that he only has one other location in Peachtree City. I like Salad Express and I’m sure to return again.

My first rtune here by way of Scoutmob. I am a former resident of this area and pleased to see a healthy establishment in this old space. Salads may be my favorite food. I walked in to a host of options to choose from. I selected a veggie salad wrap for $ 7.99. The wrap comes with your choice of soup or side of fruit. I opted for the garden veg soup, which was surprisingly amazing! Zucchini, carrots, celery, tomato in a clear broth. I think I burnt myself from eating it so fast! You select 5 ingredients to put in your salad not including dressing. It was huge! I ate half. With the Scoutmob, my total was about $ 4.80. Regardless of their coupon, I’ll be back with friends!

If you like salads. This is your spot(as if the name didn’t tip you off). The ingredients are fresh, there’s a wide variety, and the portions are big for the price. My salad felt like it weighed 2 pounds in the to-go box. The customization ability for wraps and salads definitely provides a competitive advantage for them over other places’ salads. My roommate swears by the buffalo chicken wrap and chili, though I’ll admit I haven’t had either(yet). The inside is clean and spacious, and the cleanliness of the toppings bar area really impressed me — we’ve all been to toppings bars where there’s carrots mixed in the beets, broccoli in the egg, cauliflower in the red onion, etc. At Salad Express, there appeared to be no intermingling whatsoever. Big plus for those with food allergies/sensitivities/strict diets.
