Scott’s Tailoring

I hate to write this review because Ms. Scott seemed like a very nice older lady. My Nigerian husband purchased 4 dress made for me in Nigeria and had them shipped to the states. When we got them the measurements were all wrong (too small). I found Scott’s on Unilocal and decided to call. After speaking with Ms. Scott on the phone I decided to let her alter 1 of the 4 dresses. She works out of her home but the shop is on the bottom level. It’s a small shop cluttered with clothes and other sewing materials. Ms. Scott took my measurements and told me it would be ready in a couple of days. I told her I had other dresses and if this was done correctly I would let her finish the others. When I returned to pick up the dress it was too big, she explained that was an easy fix, pinned areas that needed correcting and asked me to come back the next day. When I went back and tried it is it fit good (not perfect but good). I dropped my other dresses to her to alter and explained that I was going to a wedding in a week and need then for that occasion which she agreed to have them completed in a few days all 4 for $ 50. Here’s where the issues began. When the 3 days passed I called and they were not ready. After calling each day after, finally on the day before I had to leave she said they were ready. Long story short… she altered 2 good enough for me to wear. The third one is still not the correct size (I didn’t have time to try it on there as it was the night before my trip) and the fourth was not ready. She requested to keep the 4^th dress to alter while I was gone and I could pick it up upon my return. I have been calling and trying to pick up my 4^th dress since the beginning of October! I keep getting excuses or leave messages with no return calls. All I want is my dress back! I even left her a message if it is not altered yet don’t worry, I would still like to pick it up. I can’t believe she is holding my custom made dress hostage! Do not recommend.
