Save some time and look for another store if you’re looking for Persian groceries. The lack of consideration for the cleanliness of the store as well as the limited selection should be sufficient justification.

beware of overcharging! they write one price on stickers and they ring different. Example: mint water instead of $ 4.99 was charged $ 9.99 rose water ‘s price did not match as well. They tried to charge us for four jars of tobacco instead of three.

4 stars as a privately-​owned (not giant corporation) market. 5 stars if you are looking for hard-​to-​find ingredients that are essential for Middle Eastern Cooking and are unavailable even at the well-​stocked Buford Highway Farmer’s Market. For example «what?» you might ask. Well barberries for one. Barberries have been used in cooking and medicine (gallbladder disease, heartburn) for over 2500 years. As far as I know this is the only place to find this uniquely delicious item in Atlanta (search for barberry jerusalem cookbook for recipes to try). Tukas hot red pepper paste for another. Buford Highway does carry the regular pepper paste but not the hot which I prefer. Rose water is also available here. Not just rose water but a few different types of rose water! They have an outstanding selection of tahini as well. This market is small but totally packed with goodies. The pistachios and olives are outstanding as well. If you enjoy Middle Eastern/​Persian food then you must visit this market to stock up on hard-​to-​find items.
