If your really want to ride a ferris wheel, this is it. There’s A/​C inside! Yup! And before you go off and judge why be all fancy… try walking around in Hotlanta when it’s in the 90s and you’ll be super thankful for the A/​C
You get a view of Centennial Park, GA Aquarium and World of Coke. It’s located next to the Tavern, but really… I highly doubt you’ll see the Tavern before seeing the ferris wheel
We got a nice deal on Groupon and even got a complimentary box of chocolates with the admission.
Overall, if you’re free or just want to chill, this is relaxing

The views are wonderful especially if you go at night and can enjoy the lights of the city. Do get a drink if it’s hot outside because even though they advertise air in the cars we were sweating horribly. I got a coupon on Groupon but doubt I would have paid full price for just a few turns around. They also take a photo of you before you are on that they offer for a ridiculous price.

Sooooo much fun. The ride totally needs to be longer. It’s worth the one time experience. If you are afraid of heights DO NOT GO! I say it because people that are afraid of heights got on while we were there and had to be taken off interrupting the experience for us. $ 13.95 wasn’t bad price for this.

Rode this while in town. Was a great view but a bit pricey.

This is such an awesome way to take in the beautiful Atlanta skyline. The people running the wheel were friendly and helpful, especially the photo folks. They truly showed me what southern hospitality was all about, suggesting other sites for my first visit to this beautiful city. I can’t wait to come back and check out the view from atop the giant wheel at night!

All I can say is wow! Looks like that would be fun to see Atlanta from up high but I chickened out. lol

It was fairly expensive for the ride, but isn’t everything? Anyways, I hate heights but I did this without thinking. The first time going up was nerve wrecking but after that I calmed down and was able to enjoy the ride and the view. It gets kind of stuffy in there though. However, there is air blowing in. The wheel went around about 4 times. Since I’m from out of town, it was worth paying for the experience. I enjoyed it.

My girlfriend and I used the groupon to get a discount on Skyview. With the deal, we got two tickets for $ 23, which included a box of chocolates. The groupon gave a discount of $ 14. At night, the city of Atlanta is all lit up. You’ll want to ride the Skyview at night.
You can get a family and friends package and a bundle of 4 tickets for $ 36. Although the ride was perfect for a date night, I don’t think it’s worth the price. We went around about 4 times. It seems silly to pay $ 15 per person to ride a Ferris wheel.

Fantastic view of the Atlanta city skyline and a must see for any tourists of locals who have not yet experienced this. Heated cars in the winter makes this even better at all times of the year.

A Ferris wheel in Atlanta is cool! But honestly the view wasn’t breath taking enough even at night. I will probably only ride on it once and never again. If you want a better view go to the Sundial.

I thought Skyview was really well put together and run. We brought my boyfriend’s 5 year old son and had a great time. The line wasn’t too bad and they have concessions for you to buy for the ride while you wait. Our wait was about 10 min. They take your group photo before you get on and actually print them out to show/​sell you as you get off the ride. They were way too expensive at over $ 20 but still nice to look at (we commented at what a waste it is for them to print as very few people actually purchase). Great time was had by all. A little pricey but nice as a one time thing to do and cool way to see Atlanta like I’ve never seen before.

I wasn’t planning on coming here, but after talking to a childhood friend, who I haven’t seen in over 12 years who wanted to meet up, I couldn’t say no. There was no lines when arrived. But before entering, they literally shook us down, checking all of our belongings, which I thought it was a little odd, since we going to get on a ride. My friend paid for the everyone’s tickets, which was a sweet gesture. General admission for adults and children over 12 is $ 13.50 plus tax and for children is $ 8.50 plus tax. By the cashier they had a little concession stand, with sweets, water, and wine. We got inside the skyview, which was pretty spacious, it was six of us and we fit very comfortable. You pretty much sit inside and the doors shut, and it rides around for like fifteen minutes. I thought my motion sickness was going to stir up, but thank God it didn’t. The view from the skyview was so spectacular, it’s something about Atlanta scenery that keeps me mesmerized.
Afterwards, after exiting the ride, they had a seating area, and plenty of flat screens on the wall. I went back to the concession stand and my kids enjoyed their cold sodas, while we enjoyed our small bottles of wine. The weather was cooling down, couldn’t it get any better. The next time I come to Atlanta, I’m going to make an attempt to ride it during the night, since the skyview is lit at night. Around the area they have horse carriages to ride, but we declined. It’s a must do, if you visit Atlanta.

Arrive on a weekday or Friday afternoon. Saturdays or holidays obviously create a 45 min to 1 hr. wait! Expect a pat-​down and purse check. The view is great and you can purchase a beer, wine, water, or soft drink before or after boarding. Great views of city and clean, comfortable cars. Four rounds makes it worth it.

I went here about 2 weeks ago. I purchased a for $ 23. It was the best time to go. About 3 days b4 V-​Day and on a weekday. There was no one really there. The Groupon was for 2 with a box of chocolates which they did give us. Nothing fancy just the normal Russell Stover chocolate box (it wasn’t even the heart shape one), but it was nice nonetheless.
I don’t know how many times you are actually suppose to go around, b/​c we went around and extra time or 2. So that was cool. I think it was a total of 4 times around. The staff was nice. We asked about the VIP cart and it was $ 50 per person plus you didn’t even get a champagne bottle only a non alcoholic beverage. So I think that would be a waste of $$, b/​c only difference btwn the VIP cart and reg cart is it’s black not white, has a bit of tinted windows (but u can still see in it), and leather seating. so not worth the extra money if u ask me.
The view is really nice. There is a person speaking over the intercom giving you history about certain bldgs that you are overlooking, even where Ted Turner lives, and it’s a great view of the Centennial Park.
They sell you pics at the end that you take b4 you get on the ride which are lil pricey. We did buy them, but talked the guy into a deal (which I basically got a pic free) and then I tipped him for being nice.
All in all I would recommend doing this at least once.

This is the big ass Ferris wheel at the side of Olympic park. Why they don’t have ferris wheel in the name, I’m not quite sure. It’s a very short walk straight ahead from the CNN Center, which was just where we were that day, on a Saturday afternoon. We purchased the Groupon deal while standing in line.
The gondola, which is basically is a fancy name for the climate controlled basket that takes you up and over Atlanta. The best view, was of the Centennial Olympic park. If you’ve been to Atlanta and read the signs, you know that the Olympics were hosted here in 1996. When you get in the gondola, turn up the sound and adjust the temperature from the controls overhead.
The views are breath taking and beautiful. It’s not something that I would do again, but I think it’s a great way of seeing the city.

Ahhhh! Not going to lie, this made me rethink ever going on a hot air balloon.
I purchased a groupon that came with a mistletoe and box of chocolate. They ran out of the mistletoe and gave out fake roses. I felt it was kind of kitsch and really would’ve appreciated something fresh, even a cheap carnation.
That being said, the staff was very friendly and you get your money’s worth! We went around about 3 or 4 times and the views were spectacular.
I’d say the real issue here was that i’d been on other, much larger ferris wheels, like the London Eye, and it was sturdy and large (could fit 8 – 10 people) so I was a little alarmed when we were at the top and the gondola we were in was swaying high above with just the two of us. Whew! But we made it, and it definitely amped up our Atlanta vacation.
I’d recommend day time so you can see everything clearly! It’s probably prettier in the summer as well.

Took my ex on a date night of things that he loves. Skyview was something he had wanted to try out so I planned a visit during our night out. Adult tickets are $ 13.50 but they have military discount. And they let me apply the discount to both of our tickets. Cool. There was a line, but we got on the ride quickly. I was afraid that the ride was gonna be really quick since it was near closing, but it actually seemed like we were on there for a good amount of time. It was beautiful seeing Atlanta all lit up from the sky, but I wish I could have seen it during daytime. Guess i will have to go back.

Well executed, but honestly the location leaves a lot to be desired.
The staff was super friendly, we barely waited, and the gondolas actually had air-​conditioning! We got great views of the Olympic Park, but honestly the rest of the views were only average… plus the lot immediately adjacent is fenced off, but from above you can see its filled with trash and dumpsters. This was my first time in Atlanta and we were in the area with time to kill, so we figured why not! But I was ultimately unimpressed by the views… I feel like there has to be a better location for the Skyview. Regardless, it was well implemented, so not a waste of time :)

Thanks to Groupon, I finally got a chance to check out Skyview Atlanta. I wanted to go at night to see how beauituful the city will be lit up plus it’s just more beautiful at night. However, I did not want to wait in line, for that long so around 8 pm is when I got there. There is a parking lot next to it so I was happy. However, I did not like paying $ 15 for it. Sure, it’s convenience but damn, that’s more than the cost of the ferris wheel. Like, seriously.
Even though I got the Groupon deal, I had to pay roughly $ 1.80 in taxes. Yes, I’m for real. I know it’s not a lot but I never had to do that with any Groupon I bought before.
What really got me wanting to go is that my friend who has gone before said that they will not mix up groups. I was happy to hear that. It’ll just be my daughter and me checking out the view. The gondola was huge and roomy. I really like it. Once we got to the top, I was a little disappointed with the view. Honestly, it wasn’t as pretty as I would like. The only view worth noting was Centennial Park. I just didn’t like the dirty glass doors cause the picture I took would’ve looked better without all those fingerprints.
The ferris wheel circled about four times. In all, I think Skyview is worth going to once for the experience but it is pricey and not really memorable, to me.

I reeeally tried to avoid getting on this thing but my child had been wanting to ride it for the past two years and I couldn’t put it off any longer.
To be honest, I didn’t get the appeal. It isn’t as if the wheel sits in a scenic setting or gives you a view of the entire city. I couldn’t imagine what you could see with it situated so close to other multi-​story buildings. Buy a $ 14.58 ticket for… what exactly?
When we got there around 8:30pm there were probably 50 people in line ahead of us. We waited about 10 minutes and I looked back. The line had almost doubled and snaked down the sidewalk towards Nassau Street. I really underestimated the draw of this attraction.
There were families, teenagers hanging out with their friends and couples and of all ages. The families with young children were fun to watch. Most of the children under the age of 10 were bouncing around with night before Christmas level excitement.
We waited in line for about 20 minutes before we made it to the front. The ride operator asked us how many were in our party and then assigned us to stand in a designated area to wait for the next pod. They seemed to keep parties intact so no one ended up riding with strangers.
The pod could comfortably seat at least four adults, with two on each side facing each other. It was air-​conditioned and fully enclosed in glass. Because of that there was a disclaimer for claustrophobics not to ride. I’m not claustrophobic so I didn’t think I had anything to worry about. But there was another problem.
The wheel made a smooth rotation for the majority of the ride. But every time they stopped the ride to let people on and off, our pod swayed back and forth. It wasn’t major swing that would knock me from my seat but it was enough to cause motion sickness. The worst was that I didn’t know when it would happen and there was nothing to hold onto to steady myself.
After the first full rotation I felt nauseous. The ride operator told us that we would go around three times but I counted four. I know because after the third time around I released my death grip on the seat cushion thinking I was about to get off. But nope… one more time around.
In all the ride lasted about 10 – 12 minutes and they played a recording of CNN Headline News anchor Christi Paul giving a tour of downtown Atlanta. I felt proud that I didn’t press the panic button (a little red button on the ceiling that you can press to get off early) and let my child enjoy the full experience.
In the end, I felt the same way after riding that I did before I got on. The Skyview itself is pretty to look at – all lit up in colors at night – but there’s not much to see when you get up top. I can see how this would be a must-​do for tourists, children or Ferris wheel lovers but now that I’ve checked this box I feel no need to return.
