They do an excellent job on color, if it’s not right, they will fix it immediately. Looove Mine!
I don’t know what they put in that shampoo/​conditioner, but Bam! It put a HUGE smile on my face and if I could have I would have just melted in the bowl!
It gets crowded, but that’s the problem you have when you’re good. Try to be on time as they book lots of people and don’t be the cog in the wheel. Parking is limited, be nice to your neighbors. Great shop.

Bizette did her thing!!! Love my new hair style. Excellent stylist, she cut my hair for the first time (short style) and it came out AMAZING!!! Sorry no pics this time but I will definitely post pics on my next visit. All the stylist there are friendly, it is a great vibe. I love great customer service and they delivered EXCELLENT customer service. I have been searching for 4 years since I came to ATL to find a great salon. I have finally found a salon to call home!

The Atlanta area is sooooooo saturated with hair stylists that range from mediocre, average, bad and Excellent. Bizette is an EXCELLENT Artist. I made an appointment with her on a chance meeting of one of clients at a nail salon. I was extremely Nervous about getting my hair cut on the first visit. She and I had a real conversation and she was not trying to sell me Anything and was not attempting to out talk me as the client. She listened and I was very grateful for her time and her assistant was great. I am very picky and it is hard to cut my hair right on the first but Bizette got it Vidal Sassoon right and Vidal would be a proud Papa. Love my hair and I have had so many wanting to touch my hair. Love it!!!

Had a great massage today by Tasha. She was friendly, professional & performed a great deep tissue massage! I was a little worried about a room in a hair salon, as I’ve tried these a few times & the noise from the salon was usually to much for me. This room seemed to be insulated pretty well, as I didn’t really hear anything over the music we were playing in the room. Can’t wait to go back in a few weeks!

Ill try to make this review short and sweet. I hate hair salons! I don’t trust people with my hair bc of the numerous bad experiences. I hate to wait even though I am guilty of being late sometimes. I found this salon on my phone. My hair was a mess. I saw some Unilocalers saying how wonderful VENUS FEARS was. So I decided to test the waters and just give her a call. She was warm and compassionate. So I made an appointment for the next day. I went to my appointment late bc I got lost and she still saw me. I didn’t have to wait and she was kind and peaceful. She started my hair and still started her next client on time bc I imagine (unlike me) she made it on time for her appt. When she shampooed my hair she was gentle but firm and thorough. It really felt good. She made me trust her. I got my shampoo cut and style and was out of there in no time flat. The salon itself is beautiful and clean. Venus is college educated, she is beautiful inside and out. She made me feel pretty again which is something I haven’t felt in a long time. I thank God for her. She is talented yet she is humble which doesn’t happen very often in stylist. She cut my hair so perfect that I can just blow dry my hair and wear it straight. The woman has skills ok. Venus Fears is the best hairstylist ever! I love her. Wish I could get my hair done more often. Thx Venus!

First off I would like to give a big thank you to Tyra H. I too have been looking for a stylist for some years. My hair texture is very soft and fine and I have been natural for a few years. My hair was recently damaged due to over bleaching. During my search, I stumbled across Sokai. After reading the review left by Tyra H, I decided to give Venus F. a try. I am so glad I did. I love that she is very versed in hair care and maintenance. Her bowl and chair side manners are outstanding. Her personality is very cohesive. Not only did she give me an awesome cut (I let her do what she wanted to do) she also started the process in repairing my color issues. She definitely seems to be the stylist for me. Thanks V!

Sheba is terrific! So far I’ve seen her twice for a Swedish and a Sports massage and I left both feeling brand new! Her rates are EXTREMELY reasonable.

Sorry for the long review! I have been on a search for a salon for 3 yrs since I moved to Atlanta. During that time I have dealt with being stood up as a first time customer from some stylists. Others didn’t seem show concern for my hair, or they could never create the look that I wanted to ridiculous pricing for just maintenance services (for example wash&set or haircuts). So I decided to look on Unilocal for a hair salon, I figured it would be worth a shot. Among the salons I saw SoKai Salon, I said let me give this one a try. So I wanted something basic just needed someone to hot curl my hair. I was going to wash it myself, bc I didn’t want to spend all day in a salon. So I called the SoKai salon last Thursday and made an appt for Friday morning. The receptionist was very nice over the phone when I scheduled the appt. My appt was with Venus. When I entered the salon, I was greeted by the receptionist. I signed in, and she immediately went and got Venus. After the introductions, we went to the back to her chair. She noticed that my haircut was not cut correctly. I was thinking the same thing when I got it cut the last time by a previous hair stylist, and that’s why I didn’t go back. So she fixed it for me, she is very detailed oriented. One of the main qualities that I like in a hair stylist. She asked why I didn’t just let her wash my hair. I said that I didn’t want to be here all day in the salon. She said that she feels the same way about being here all day long. She said her objective is to get you and in and get you out. Music to my ears lol. She gave me helpful tints on hair care as well. She finished my hair and I was in love with it. I was so mad I had to cut my hair earlier this year because of color damage. For the first time I was loving my haircut. I was this close to getting braids, but now I’m going to keep this look. I didn’t really look around the salon, but according to their website they offer spa services in addition to hair care services. So I’ll look into that one day. Also the atmosphere was very nice, everyone in the salon seem to get along very well. I have been in some places, and it was drama city. I am very confident in saying that I’ve found my new salon and hair stylist!!! It has been a long time to finally say that. So if you are looking for a new salon and stylist, give Venus at SoKai salon a try. I don’t think you will be disappointed if you do. I know that I wasn’t, and I look forward to building a client/​stylist relationship with her. OAN I received my compliments on my hair in the salon and after I left the salon! :-) Thanks again Venus! For giving new life to my hair!

I wanted to provide an update because I’ve since allowed Sophia to add extensions to my hair. I really like the foundation which makes for a beautiful finished product. I would definitely recommend her for sew ins. As I mentioned earlier, it’s not inexpensive but you truly get what you pay for. You can try your luck with the $ 50 weave salons that have popped up all over Atlanta and I promise you’ll pay much more than I did when it’s all done. Those salons are a rip off and I speak from experience. They do not focus on the health of your real hair and the sew in technique is structured so that you have to come back quickly.

Sokai Salon provides a warm and ethereal atmosphere which is most likely a reflection of the owner Sophia Kerr Johnson. From the moment I entered the salon I felt welcome. The receptionist greeted me with a smile and told me that someone would be right with me. A few short minutes later, I was being greeted by an assistant and taken to Sophia who began my services. Soft music, and soothing smells lulled me into a state of relaxation as the gentle banter of the other stylists and salon patrons exemplified commraderie and kindred spirits. My hair turned out great and I noticed that all of the other patrons had it going on as well! This talented group of ladies really know their stuff! I stopped by Strawberry’s booth and had my lashes done and was equally satisfied. I look forward to sampling the spa services including the massage and detox foot bath. I’ve learned that «Sokai» means village and I will visit this village often to revel in it’s nurturing, relaxing atmosphere.
