Terrible. Why Starbucks lets their brand name, which is otherwise very consistent, be muddled with these Target Starbucks I don’t know. It was later in the evening so my girlfriend and our friend went in just for three hot chocolates. Despite low expectations of this place from previous experiences I assured them that they couldn’t mess up hot chocolate. Wrong. It was lukewarm and just tasted awful. My friends lid was dirty, which makes you wonder in a bad way. My friend and I ended up just tossing our drinks. My girlfriend asked and had hers remade, then tossed it because it was just as horrible, he just dumped more fudge in it that time. Didn’t ask for a refund as it was too obvious the kid behind the counter could not have cared less, and we didnt feel like waiting for 10 minutes for a manager to come over and turn a key and all that jazz. How do you mess up hot chocolate? Twice?

The drinks were amazibg. The service… not so much. My boyfriend and I stood at the counter while the barista had a conversation witg a passer-by. I love Starbucks and we stood there long enough for me to want to walk away.

This review is for the Starbucks located inside the Target in Atlantic Station. This store is not the same as the Starbucks located inside Twelve Hotel facing 17th St.( ). This Starbucks can be found just inside the entrance to Target, attached to a Pizza Hut. It’s a small kiosk location. Usually, it’s staffed by only one person. The menu is more limited than a traditional Starbucks store. Most of the same beverages are offered, which is a good thing, but only a handful of snacks and pastries are available. Sometimes, they have no food. I shop at the Atlantic Station Target often. Sometimes at check-out, I receive coupons valid at Starbucks inside Target stores only. I recently used one of these coupons. It was good for one free pastry with the purchase of a Starbucks beverage, grande size or larger. I ordered my favorite: a venti iced green tea latte with 2% milk($ 4.27 after tax). It looked like the pastry case was empty, but it turned out there were some pastries stored in containers on the back counter. They just hadn’t been unloaded into the display case yet. Pastry selections included iced lemon pound cake and raspberry swirl pound cake. I’ve had the iced lemon pound cake before. I went with the raspberry swirl this time around. There’s plenty of seating in the common dining area. While waiting, the lone employee went into the back storeroom to fetch matcha powder for the green tea latte. She came out empty-handed and offered a refund. Instead of a refund, I asked to switch my order to a vanilla bean crème frappuccino. It was delicious, made of vanilla bean, milk, and blended ice with whipped cream on top. White, frothy, creamy, cold, and icy. It almost tasted and felt like a vanilla milkshake to me, but wasn’t nearly as thick nor smooth. Due to the minor inconvenience(of not having matcha powder), the employee unexpectedly gave not one, but two free slices of raspberry swirl pound cake(regularly $ 2.25 each). Score. If you’ve never had one of Starbucks’ pound cakes before, you should try a slice. They’re dense, incredibly rich and sweet, and make for a nice snack or treat. They also have icing, which really helps to pack on the calories. Fantastic, friendly service.

Sucky Starbucks experience. I ordered a Peach Green Tea Lemonade, which I’ve ordered a few times before and it’s always been delicious. The two girls working behind the counter didn’t seem to thrilled to be there, but one of them who rang me up was very nice. The drink on the other really sucked. She pulled out a big jug of Publix lemonade, and poured a lot in there! I didn’t see what else she added but it tasted just like pure Publix lemonade with a tiny bit of peach flavoring. Pretty sucky considering the prices of those drinks. I’ve been to way better Starbucks locations.

This particular location is okay if you’re in the mood for a coffee or frappucino and are already at Target(as there’s an actual stand-alone location just across the street). However, my favorite Starbucks order are the Refreshers — carbonated, I also really enjoyed the canned ones — generally I’m happy with either, unfortunately at the Target Starbucks, they don’t have the carbonation machine — as of yet anyway; This location doesn’t carry the canned ones either — in the cooler or anywhere else in the store. I wish I could say the service is a redeeming factor but alas: not even close. The baristas — when they’re actually stationed at the counter — are rude, typically greeting us with a passive aggressive ‘What do you want?’ Which is no longer a bother to us, as — to reiterate — we’re just glad someone is there to take our order. Usually, we have to ask someone at the Target Café for help. Bottom line: An okay stop for convenience, but it’s worth it just to make the small trek down the street.

This is your average Starbucks in a Target. Lattes while you shop for things you think you need! Ahh, Target. Anyways, this is your everyday Target Starbucks. The reason I’m giving it four stars is that the seating boasts huge, 20 foot or more floor to ceiling views of Atlantic Station, midtown, and downtown. So if you’re in this Starbucks and have a few minutes to spare and have some money left over after shopping, stop by for a quick coffee or latte and sit and admire the awesome skyline views!
