We went for lunch on a Saturday morning at the Swan Coach House. The rooms were filled to capacity but the noise level was low so we could talk and enjoy each other’s company. There is valet parking at the door.(Hint: If you plan to tour the whole complex at The Atlanta History Center, you should park in the parking garage, visit the main building for Center tickets, and then walk through the Center to the Swan Coach House for a meal.) Because reviews online highly recommended the«Swan’s Favorite» for lunch that’s what most of us had and enjoyed. But, everyone around the table bragged on everything came out of the kitchen. I tried a tasty drink that had sweet tea, lemonade, bourbon, champagne, and strawberry! Dessert was a whipped cream treat in the shape of a swan. The décor was just as I had hoped — genteel Southern house, white table cloths, silver bread baskets, and helpful staff. In the same building is a well stocked and quite large gift shop. Just before I entered the restaurant I ran into one of my daughters who was there for a bridal shower, so keep this place in mind for special occasions, too!

What a fabulous place! The restaurant has always been wonderful, but we held a tea there and it was nothing short of outstanding. Service, food, ambience made for such a memorable day!

An atlanta gem! I love their fresh muffins and homeade butter. Their tuna and chicken salad is amazing. Everything is just so cute and quaint and perfect for a ladies lunch!

I’m afraid to post good things because this place is AMAZING! And maybe the next time I won’t be able to get a table. Hahaha: I loved the entire experience here. The food, the drinks, cocktails! Everything was delicious. The thing that I loved the most was the retired stewardess/Flight attendant that hosted us and was so awesome. I believe they have several retired flight attendants.

A perfect spot to hold a Bridal Luncheon! Food and service are great and you can’t beat the ambiance. Our waiter was awesome; after our meal he agreed to take a group picture and to be an excellent photographer! A beautiful, memorable bridal luncheon!

Not a big fan of the timbale of chicken salad, and shrimp salad, tiny portions and did not care for the timbales, dry and tasteless. The salad ingredients were chopped so fine it lost its texture and had a bit too much mayo for my taste. The timbales came with a few pieces of sliced fruit and a little basket of breads, the banana bread was especially delicious. I found the restaurant a little too quiet and stuffy.

Came here for lunch when visiting the history center. We walked in and were immediately greeted in true southern charm. Parking lot was packed and we were worried how long the wait would be but were surprised when we were told only 10 minutes. We walked around the little shop for the time and then were promptly sat. The glowing service did not end there. Our waitress was wonderful and explained the menu to us. I opted for the chicken salad with a side salad. While waiting we enjoyed some cocktails — their punch was absolutely delicious. Our lunch didn’t take long to arrive. While the chicken salad was good, I wish they had the option of a chicken salad sandwich or something more substantial. The serving size for the side salad was quite large and their vinaigrette was super yummy. I really enjoyed our lunch here. It wasn’t the best food I’ve ever had, but it’s more the ambiance here. I really felt transported to the sweet south where everyone knows your name and you can ask your neighbor for a cup of sugar. I would absolutely have a bridal or baby shower here — would be wonderful.

I’ve been here for a few brunch events, but recently visited for their Champagne Tea which was held on June 4th(must RSVP to attend). My friends and I noshed on finger foods like little ham and cheese biscuits, cranberry cookies, tiny sandwiches, and bruschetta. We also took full advantage of the bottomless champagne for only $ 9. The tea was actually very good too. I didn’t need to doctor it up much. Our server was very funny, and made sure our champagne glasses and teacups were full at all times. He even brought a ton of food to one of my friends to take to her husband since they had lots of leftovers. This was a fun way to spend a Thursday afternoon, and an awesome way to get ready for a fun weekend.

Atrocious experience. Terrible food. Rude service. They basically have the trifecta. We were only given a table for an hour, hurried throughout the lunch, and then asked to leave because someone else had the table. This was a party of five and all five people will never set foot here again. As we were asking for dessert we were told«you can take it to go». Really terrible experience! The food is poor to say the least. DONOTCOMEHERE.

On my previous trip to Atlanta I got to tour the Atlanta history center and visit the elegant Swan House. I decided on this trip to have lunch at the Coach house which I had missed on that visit. I learned that the Coach house was previously the servants’ quarters of the the Swan house. They do not take reservations for small parties but when I arrived I was greeted by a charming hostess and led to my table. The dress code is business casual. The décor is very lovely and makes a great place to hold a special event I was given rolls and some mini muffins as a start. I decided to order the signature trio salad which consists of one timbale of chicken salad, one timbale of shrimp salad, and one timbale of tuna salad. They came with two pimento cheese sticks and a frozen fruit salad. My meal came fairly quickly. The chicken salad was okay but I really loved the shrimp and the tuna salad. The best part was the frozen fruit salad. It was filling in itself but I wanted to leave room for dessert. My waitress told me that they had 3 offerings: Swan mousse, homemade pecan pie or key lime pie. I had a tough time deciding but went with the Swan mousse. The top is whipped in the shape of a swan. This dessert was outstanding! They do have a takeout menu if you are interested. After my lunch I strolled into the gift shop where they have all different types of clothes, jewelry, ceramics, gifts for babies, and little swan trinket boxes. I purchased a few trinket boxes as gifts for my friends back home and bought a cute baby blanket for a friend who just had a baby. Finally I decided to tour the art gallery. The gallery is small but the art work is very interesting. I was grateful for the opportunity to visit all three venues during this time and would recommend to go beyond the restaurant itself once you have finished your meal. It made a great start to my visit to Atlanta.

Fantastic Southern charm. Portion sizes are fairly small but wonderful flavors. Mostly well dressed women. She had spinach quiche. I had seafood soup and finger sandwiches. You will like the atmosphere. There were a few men besides me. We did not have reservation and were lucky to get in.

If you want to feel like a true Southern Lady Who Lunches, Swan Coach House is the place to go. My BFF made reservations for us after a vigorous round of wedding dress shopping, and it was the perfect end to the dress hunt. From the large scale floral print wall paper to the silver-haired hostess(who was so sweet and deliciously witty) to the throngs of elegant diners sporting over-sized church lady hats, this place has it all. It was utterly charming. In general, the food was nothing special.(My dad’s hamburger was so undercooked that it was practically still mooing. But my fried green tomato sandwich was amazeballs. Mad props for the pimento cheese too, SCH. And for the sheer variety of swan-shaped food items, such as the french silk meringue.) But I feel like you don’t really visit this place for the food. It’s clearly about the atmosphere. Loved it.

I thought the food was excellent, we shared the burger and the chicken pot pie. The burger was cooked exactly as I asked, medium-well. The chicken pot pie wasn’t too creamy and heavy. The service was good, though our server forgot to deliver the rolls and butter. Another server brought them when he noticed they were missing. I didn’t like that we got sat on the lower level in a sort of corner. But, perhaps, the restaurant is geared more towards groups… The other patrons all seemed to be dressed up ladies going for sunday lunch or brunch. I felt a little out of place, a tourist stopping by after the museum. We sat on the lower level, but it seems there are more scenic tables.

This is a cute little southern restaurant. I came for a weekday lunch and they were packed.(Glad we had a reservation!). Even with a reservation we still had to wait about 15 minutes or so. I had crab cakes, chicken soup, and artichoke casserole. Everything was ok, but nothing was amazing or very flavorful. The assorted breads are warm, yummy, and buttery. Might’ve been my favorite part of the meal(sad). I might come again for a ladies brunch or something unique. The atmosphere is special, but not really something I’d go out of my way for, especially with the food as it is. Valet parking only.

If you are looking for some southern charm and a true southern dining experience stop by the Swan Coach House for lunch. Mostly filled with Ladies Who Lunch, the Swan Coach House offers your usual fare of soups, salads, and entrees that you want when you are in the mood for southern cooking. The atmosphere is Laura Ashley over load, and if you can manage to sit on the enclosed upper porch even though you are 2 minutes from the heart of Buckhead you feel like you are in Sherwood Forrest. The signature Swan Dessert is a MUST. All in all it is a little pricey, but if you Scoutmob it you can save some money…

I adore this place. Very southern and a lot of wise ladies around this joint. The chicken and shrimp salads are my favorite. I order the«best of both.» I also love the bubbly atlantan drink– champagne and jasmine liquor. They do not take reservations and will not allow you to sit unless your entire party is here. Come early!

My friends and I choose this place for Saturday brunch. Wow, what a great choice. Extremely pretty and feminine. Beautifully decorated with florals and elegant hues of pink. We dressed up in big hats and spring dresses and enjoyed a nice southern lunch. The drinks were delicious however dont expect to get a buzz off them. If I didnt know any better I would swear they were virgin drinks… but yummy. This place is a great place to dine with the girls. Its very southern! The hostesses were very helpful and friendly. The waitress hmmmm not so much. She seemed as if we were a bother

When y’all come to the Swan Coach House, you’ll get a fine sampling of Southern culture. It’s the quintessential spot for the ladies who lunch. Here’s a few tips if you’ve never been before: — Make a reservation(after all it’s the polite thing to do) — Order any of the salads(chicken, tuna, shrimp, Caesar, etc.) if you like creamy dressing. If not, stick with the chicken entrée or a sandwich — Impress your dining party by ordering«the Swan» for dessert — Dress up because it’s fun! — Bring a few dollars to tip the valet — After you’re finished, spend a few minutes walking around the shop and art gallery Most importantly, have fun. This place and the Atlanta History Center do an amazing job of preserving all the goodness the South has to offer. Enjoy sipping on sweet tea(or something stronger from the bar) and savor in the style of Swan Coach house.

If you ever wondered where all the Southern Belles go in Atlanta — this is the place. I came here for lunch yesterday with two girlfriends. When we walked in I felt immediately felt under dressed in shorts and sandals; wear your Sunday’s best. Another thing I noticed, the clientele was almost all women, elderly women. The restaurant is decorated quite feminine too, pink floral lace wallpaper, lace, and pink roses on every table. The hostess told us the wait would be a few minutes — ‘Why?’ I wondered, there were several empty tables. We didn’t really mind though, since it gave us a chance to peruse the gift shop and art gallery. The gallery seemed more of an extension of the gift shop — filled with candle holders and ceramic vases. The gift shop holds everything you’ll ever need for a cotillion; including several books on how to be a lady — my posture instantly straightened. After about 10 – 15 minutes we were called to be seated. They first brought delicious rolls and cornbread muffins, and the smoothest butter I’ve ever had. For my entrée, I had one of the signature dishes, the ‘soup and tea sandwiches’. I chose to have the gazpacho. The tea sandwiches came in a set of four — two chicken salad and two pimento. It came with a side of two cheese straws and a bit of fruit. One of my girlfriends ordered the ‘Best of Both’, which was a «timbale of chicken salad and shrimp salad — with the same sides. The gazpacho was okay, but the chicken salad and pimento cheese were delicious, I also liked my friend’s chicken salad. However, do not order these if you’re starving, they were very small portions. My other girlfriend ordered the chicken wrap with caesar salad — and that seemed to be much more filling. The staff was pretty nice and our server was very attentive. Overall the food was pretty good, however the atmosphere was a little too ‘frou frou’ for me lol. It was an interesting experience though.
