This place is A-M-A-Z-I-N-G. One of the many great things about this place is Chealse. This girl knows her craft. I had blonde/brown long hair and wanted a chocolate color and a shorter cut with bangs and she hit the nail right on the head! I couldn’t be more happy with the results.

I’ve been going to Kris for color and cut for over 6 years now and I can say with full confidence that she is amazing at what she does. Not only does she get my color spot on, but she makes sure to give me an awesome cut as well. She’s fast and efficient and I couldn’t imagine getting my hair done anywhere else. Kris even did my hair and make up for my wedding and it was beyond BEAUTIFUL!!! She always exceeds my expectations in every way. Chealse recently joined the salon I think she has been an awesome addition. She always helps out and gives great make up tips and is pleasant to be around. I think she’s a great stylist as well and an fun person to talk about make up with. :) I highly suggest going here for all of your cut, color, and make up needs — they are the best!!!

So wonderful! Anna got my blonde perfect, like Reese Witherspoon blonde I have to say. We didn’t change the length of the hair much because I’m letting it grow for a wedding style, but she created a great shape and made it fresh. I found Sweetgrass and Sweetgrass Too calling salons about getting my hair done for my wedding. Everyone who called, emailed and spoke to me in person was so nice and caring. Their prices cannot be beat in the wedding world, and I appreciate how they handle an event. After having Anna cut and color my hair today I have no worries about the wedding day, and I look forward to bringing my sisters and friends to hang out in the salon and feel great too.

I love Sweetgrass Too. I’ve been going there for years. Kris consistently gives me the best cuts I’ve had in my life. I have naturally wavy/curly hair and she knows what to do with it. Also, if you are sick of salons where you feel like you have to dress for a date to fit in, sweetgrass is the way to go. Everyone is super laid back and welcoming.

On my never-ending quest for an affordable, amazing haircut, I got a recommendation from a friend that Sweetgrass Too would fit the bill. I stopped by one day to talk to them about a cut and color – I wanted to add purple to the end of my hair. I let them know I had never had my hair colored before, and Kris and Chealse were so excited and confident they could give me what I wanted. I made an appointment for a couple of days later, and Chealse asked me to find some pictures of exactly what I wanted. I did my homework and came in with several different options that I liked, and Chealse and Kris started twittering away about the way they were going to make it happen. Chealse was doing the work, but she asked Kris a million questions to make sure she was doing things correctly. This made me feel more confident in things coming out right – my confidence was dead wrong. Four hours later, I had orangey/red hair with a tiny bit of purple at the tips – this was not at all what I had asked for(deep, rich purple). She also cut my hair, and spent no more than 15 minutes on the cut – quickest cut of my 30-some-odd years. The more I looked at the color, the more upset I got. Chealse assured me we could fix it, and she offered to start right then. I appreciated her willing to stay even later, but I declined. I didn’t think I could take any more. I know she felt bad it wasn’t what I wanted and she even mentioned that it didn’t come out like she thought it would. That’s where the positives ended and the excuses began. She then told me that our eyes were seeing different things and that my hair looked like the pictures I brought in. If that’s the case, I’m worried about Chealse’s vision and color recognition skills. I made an appointment to come back the next day so she could deepen the color. When I came back, they were laughing about it and making more excuses: Aveda products don’t color the way I wanted, dark hair is really hard to color, etc. I let them know I was really upset about it, and there was no efforts to make me feel better. There was no apology or taking responsibility for screwing up. I felt like neither of them were listening to me at all as I tried to show them the pictures again. I ended up with OK hair, not exactly what I was expecting, but their attitude is what made this experience so horrible. I actually said something to Chealse about that fact, and she did apologize again. Taking responsibility for mistakes and empathy go a long way. I’m sure they’ll be talking s#!t about me for days to come – most of their conversations while I was there was about difficult clients they had previously.

Please go and see Anna! I just had an amazing blow out that starts the Aveda way with aromatherapy and temple massage. This is followed by a shampoo and deep conditioning treatment. While the conditioner was setting in, I received a much needed hand massage. She gave me some lovely loose curls, and my hair feels so soft and healthy. Anna works at the Little 5 location too which is where she cut and colored my hair. It’s definitely a treat to see her, and her positive energy rubs off on you.

Go see Chealse!!! I have difficult hair to color as it gets REALLY brassy and yellow every time I have it highlighted and lightened. My last experience was AWFUL because they foiled my entire head and it took 7 hours. Instead of paying attention to my hair type and what I wanted, they just bleached the sh*t out of it, which only damaged my healthy hair. Chealse understood exactly what I wanted and knew the best way to achieve results without frying my hair. She also explained that this would be less maintenance going forward and would cost a lot less every time I came in. Who does that?! A hairstylist visit for less than $ 185 out the door? Of course that makes me happy. In fact, my visit was LESS than that and the results were worth WAYMORE. She also corrected a bad cut that I had and made my hair bouncy and swoopy(yes it’s a word!) and it looks great whether or not I spend time styling with tools or I let it dry naturally and do it’s own thing. Chealse knows her stuff, and this salon is really cute, it evokes a neighborhood feel, and the funky décor evokes a cool Little 5 vibe.(paintings are a little weird-but hey whatever). Go there– so you too can fall in love!

I brought my daughter to Sweetgrass Too for an eyebrow and lip wax. We received a warm greeting and were taken right away(we were about 15 minutes early). The atmosphere was both calming and very welcoming. Brittnee was our technician/stylist. I was extremely pleased with the service. My daughter has had her lip waxed twice before and both times appeared to still have hair left(maybe a 1:00 shadow). This was the FIRST time her lip was completely clean! We will definitely return and ask for Britnee!

First of all, this place deserves WAY more reviews. I saw Erin my first visit after I had a rather ho-hum haircut somewhere else… I told her I wanted to get excited about my cut. She got it PERFECT! She found the hidden curls with a gorgeous layered cut which today still has just as much life as when I walked out the salon door a week ago. Of course the cut takes the cake, but I absolutely love the relaxed feel of this salon as well. No pretention and really good vibes. Erin was really easy to chat with, and I appreciated how a coworker of hers stayed around and engaged with the two of us after she finished her client. I always find it strange when there is some invisible barrier between chairs in which other stylists rarely ever speak through– awkward! That was not the case at Sweetgrass Too– it felt like an open and inviting space. Give it a try… if you like good vibes, you will love this salon!

Honestly, the only place still operating in ATL where I can get a decent haircut. When I can’t get a reservation(after begging and pleading over the phone) I just go in and sit down… waiting for them to take pity on me. And, oddly enough, both times I’ve pulled that move, they have accomadated me. I really think Sweetgrass Too is better than the big store in L5P. It’s not that cheap, but it isn’t prohibitively expensive. It’s also not that easy to find, but if you just wander around behind Flying Bisquit you’ll eventually see it.

I’ve been looking for a hair salon in Atlanta for some time now. I always go back to my hair stylist in NY whenever I have a chance to go back home. I got my first haircut yesterday from Joy at Sweetgrass Too and I’m so happy to have found a local salon that I love. Joy was really friendly and very knowledgeable about keeping your hair healthy and pretty. I told her about how my hair was falling out these days and how stressful it can be. She suggested a great hair style, hair products that are fit for my needs and also how to manage my hair on my own. Most hair stylist do something really fancy at the salon and when you wash your hair the next day, you have no idea how to make it that pretty again on your own. Joy taught me ways to manage and style my hair on a daily basis. Overall, I had a great experience at Sweetgrass, Too. I’d definitely recommend both the salon and Joy!

After learning about sweetgrass on Bravo’s Tabitha’s take over– I came on Unilocal to find such amazing reviews about Kris and decided to go ahead and book an appointment! I am sure glad that I did! Kris took the time to figure out was going on with my hair(I have thick long hair) and took the time to explain how to take care of my thick hair and gave me a good trim and helped shape up my layers and blend them in while they grow. I have received plenty of compliments on my hair! I already have my next appointment book! I couldn’t be anymore happier to have found sweetgrass and kris!!!

It took one flight, two trains and a one mile walk but I got here for Kris’s cut/color. This stylist and pimento cheese are the only things that bring me back to Georgia

Kelli gave me a great haircut during my first visit to Sweetgrass Too! Well… I had a great haircut back in July, which had grown out so I asked Kelli to just cut an inch to trim my hair, following the current haircut. And she did a good job with what I asked! Pretty good value, as their haircuts start around $ 40. They use Aveda products, which work well for my hair. The location, where they apparently had just moved to, is behind The Flying Biscuit in a little house. The inside is hippie chic– colorful and full of repurposed art made of various items(a light fixture in the middle of the room is made of what looks like the springs of a mattress and light bulbs). Interesting… though it is completely opposite of my décor taste… definitely interesting.

Wooooooooo, I look pretty again! Thank you Joy, for not laughing at my 3+ months of split ends. Instead, you gave me a great, stylish cut and some helpful advice(who knew I could skip shampoo and just condition!?! Freakin genius!) Great, convenient location for us Decatur peeps too! While I get my hairs did, hubbie can get all jibbered up on caffeine next door at Dr. Bombays.

I have been looking for a good stylist for so many years! I have blonde, curly, frizzy hair that has a mind of its own. I went into Sweetgrass Too one day to purchase Aveda products and met Kelli. She seemed very nice and invited me to come back for a cut. Weeks later, I’m in need of a cut. I called Kelli. She took time to talk about my hair and how to dry it and what to look for in a product. She wasn’t trying to *sell* me *her* products. She told me things about my hair, that over 30 years, I didn’t know! When she was done, I walked out LOVING my hair and I LOVE it today. I can’t remember the last time that’s happened, if ever! Go see Kelli at Sweetgrass Too, an Aveda Salon, in Chandler Park. It’s across from Fellini’s and a few doors down from the Flying Biscuit. You will fall in love with your stylist again!
