Taste of the Majors is one of the classic concession stands inside Turner Field. By «classic,» I mean it’s not a restaurant or brand outside of the stadium like Chick-fil-A, Waffle House, Holeman & Finch, and Kevin Rathbun Steak. Taste of the Majors has been at the Ted much longer than any of the aforementioned food vendors. It’s located just inside the stadium’s main entrance, at the Fan Plaza across from the official Atlanta Braves clubhouse store. A great and convenient thing about this concession stand is it has plenty of picnic tables for you to sit down, eat, relax, and enjoy the game. You can watch the game from the Fan Plaza thanks to the jumbotron installed over the Braves store. The picture is crisp and the sound is clear. It’s a fun, festive environment. It’s also next to the giant Braves drum. Taste of the Majors is where you can find traditional ballpark food such as hot dogs(with toppings such as chili, slaw, and onions), hamburgers, chicken tenders, fries, and sandwiches(e.g. cheesesteak). They also sell snacks like(unlimited) popcorn, roasted peanuts, giant pretzels, and nachos. Bottled water and soda, with free refills, are sold here too. No alcohol. What hot dog or burger at the ball game is complete without inflated concession stand prices? They make you pay dearly. Examples include $ 16.25 for a basic hot dog combo(dog, fries, drink) and $ 18.75 for a burger combo(taxes included). So it’d cost $ 75 to feed a proverbial«family of four» four burger combos. Ouch. That’s just the way it goes with sports and movie theater food and drink pricing. Fortunately for season ticket holders, there are discounts available to take some sting off the bite. Almost all food vendors at the Ted offer some sort of discount to season ticket holders. Be sure to check your game ticket and see if it’s a season ticket. You could see substantial savings in your in-game food purchases. For example, the aforementioned combo meals are only $ 10.75(vs. $ 16.25) and $ 12.50(vs. $ 18.75), respectively. These are savings of 33%. A 20-ounce bottle of Dasani water is $ 4.00. This is the standard price among all vendors at the stadium. It’s $ 2.50 if you have a season ticket. Service is OK. There is plenty of staff and multiple cash registers so the wait here isn’t as bad as some of the more specialized vendors. Credit cards accepted. Taste of the Majors’ storefront is decorated with plaques commemorating other Major League ballparks. These include Yankee Stadium(NY), Wrigley Field(Chicago Cubs), and Ebbets Field(Brooklyn Dodgers).
