Terrell Heating And Air

This company employs people who are not licensed and who have already been arrested for fraud in this industry. They will try to charge you 3 times the cost and then continually harass you via text and phone calls saying you are committing a felony and will be arrested, even after you say you have already gotten the police involved. This happened to me a little while ago. I would never trust some of these employees in my home. Upon research, I have found multiple other people who have used them, had this issue, and some have left their home for the night because they felt unsafe. Absolutely not okay.

Ol’ fast talking Jimmy will probably get the job done for you, but it’ll probably be done in the most «get one over on you» way he can.
He caught me in a bind when out of town and took full advantage of the heat wave that was causing my tenant’s family to spend the night in a hotel. He did the old switch-​a-​too when it was time to install. He sold me a Haier condenser unit, promising it’s «warrantied like a Hyundai». I’m sorry to say I went for it.
The next part is almost laughable, but the short of it is that he apparently has a Napoleon complex and feels like everybody is out to get him. He might’ve right, after seeing what kind of person he is.
Anyway today, 4 years later, it needs diagnosis and potentially a replacement part, and he won’t stand behind his product.
If he spent the effort in doing the right thing that he does on the cheat, he’d likely have
more business.

This is a difficult review to write, but this needs to be done. I needed service on a «good» Lennox system bought 7 years ago for $ 7,500.
I had several calls out because we had air. I bought the system from Terrell though he was a later callback. I offered to cancel a scheduled service for the day and then he told me the price. I told him his price was higher than the competitor who was already scheduled and I said I did not see why he would stick it to a good customer.
Jimmy Terrell says to me, «What’s all this talk about people sticking stuff in you?» Then he adds, «You fucking fag!» and hangs up.
The other repair people told me that some of my repair costs were because Terrell had not filled the warranty forms properly. On top of this, I paid almost 23% of the purchase price to get this 7-​year-​old system working again.
Lennox does not care. Their dealers are «independent.» They have a consumer line and an ethics line, but being assaulted by one of their retailers falls between the cracks, as does a faulty product.
Terrell assured us we had made a good investment with extensive warranties and all, of course. He did not stand behind his product in any way and spoke to me in a way that was well beyond offensive.
I am not gay, as it happens, but this gives me a lot of insight into how they might be treated sometimes by an alleged upstanding citizen. Sadly, what I tell you here is the 100% truth, and I tried to make complaints through other more private channels.
My air conditioning experience was bad all the way around. The state licence process needs to be examined. More people need to use Unilocal!It is very hard to know who to trust. Terrell is not on the trust list. I am afraid to tell you what he did, frankly. We all have our bad days, but this is case has it all – bad product, no support, and a business owner who has no respect for the customer.
He should call me and apologise. Then he should get over to my house and review all the work done on this system and at least explain why these charges were needed. Someone needs to talk to Lennox about the performance of this product. We did not get what we paid for…

My AC malfunctioned a few days ago when it was hot af. I called up Jimmy in the morning to fix my AC unit asap. He came later in the evening even though I didn’t have a scheduled appointment. He got everything up and running within a couple hours. His prices are reasonable too. Thanks Jimmy for your great service. I’d still be stewing in my sweat if it wasn’t for you.

Just called this guy to have him check out my A/​C unit. Business card says «24 hour service». I asked if he could come check it out? He said,“Nope” then hung up the phone. Wow!!! Great customer service buddy. FOH!!!

Please stay away. I was charged almost 1000 dollars for Freon and repair. It is not repaired at all and I have to have it replaced. Look for other stories. He has been even on TV in trouble with customers. Do not use him!

CONSUMER BEWARE!!! I made the biggest mistake of life in contacting Jim of Terrell Heating & AIR. He was prompt in showing up the day of service cause he knew he would be (OVER) paid, $ 384. Prior to me doing the numbers and coming up w/384.00, he said because your son helped me I will only charge you 400.00. Talk about a money hungry man and had to nerve to say «I care about people and do not take advantage. LIAR!!! He is all about overcharging. On the day of service he came into my home, talked for about 30 mins about nothing that made sense, asked my son to help him with his 15 mins of work. Lied about a discount and tried to overcharge me at the same time. He changed out the contactor, added free on (not nearly enough to adequately cool my home, asked for bottled water, talked again about all kinds of senseless bullcrap. Prior to him leaving, he said «Later on this evening your house will be cold enough to hang meat». Yeah right, only if its spoiled meat. My house was and still is barely cool. He assured me that I could contact him if the house did not get pass cool to cold. When I did contact him, I was not expecting him to tear my head off thru the phone, this man began shouting and screaming @ me saying «I know my work & I’ve done this for over 30 years. I asked him to come back out and he relunctanly agreed to come out the next day. When he did not call or come by, I called him and he snapped. He said he was having problems w/​his Brand new Van (same van he showed up at my residence the day he was paid. He said «I will come out there on Friday. I stayed at home all day on Friday and he never came by or called. I called him @ 5:00 p.m., he never answered so I left a message stating that he was dishonest and not trust worthy, but I still expected him to follow up. Ten mins later he text me and stated «Don’t ever contact me again, u should be ashamed, my father died @ 3:00 pm, my brother in CONYERS is a lawyer and he will DEAL with you if you slander me». Needless to say this man Jim Terrell is CRAZY and should NEVER do BUSINESS with anyone, Thus far, I have a negative review of him on Unilocal,cautioned ALL of my family, friends, co-​workers, FB followers to never contact this company for services. In addition, I have filed a complaint w/​BBB, contact 11 Alive Dale Russell Investigative Report and will file papers in DeKalb County Small Claims Court. Jim Terrell if you think you have heard the last of Rita Semien you are so sadly mistaken.

STAY FAR AWAY! — we needed our HVAC checked and the owner (Jim) claimed it was struck by lightning and needed to be replaced. We assumed he was honest (mistake) and followed recommendations. He ordered the unit and parts then never installed it. It sat in my garage until I hired another company (Edwards Heating & Air), who said the parts didn’t even match! Worst, they inspected the unit and found it was a simple fix. When I called Jim at Terrell and told him of this he said he was going to «kick my ass.» Nice guy. Morale of the story? Call Edwards Heating & Air — honest and reliable.

The absolute worse! I have pages of documentation of mis quotes and missed 3 appt times set. Horrible customer service!

I own the local UPS Store and AC went out. Jimmy Terrell quoted over $ 600 and swore that his ratings were good. He gets an F from BBB. I hired HVAC company recommended by landlord. Cost $ 125 to repair and nothing was wrong with any of the parts Terrell said were bad. Grab your wallet and run if this guy shows up.

Terrell Heating and Air did a great job with my new air conditioning unit. They were quick to respond, friendly, answered the many questions I had, and were a great value. Plus, they were the local option for me and I like to support the local businesses. Certainly recommend Terrell Heating and Air.
