Please read this review before you commit to using this location for lasik surgery. I decided that I was going to start a new chapter and get Lasik. I made the appt and was told the fee and how quickly I could be scheduled. I was super excited w the idea of not wearing glasses n contacts EVER. The front office mgr(OLIVE) assured me the MD and surgeon were top notch. I paid the fee(groupon discount) and made appt. We agreed on a sat appt, during the same wk. She calls back and says surgeries can also be done on fri evenings(to accomodate those who work). I navigated thru ATL traffic to reach their office at 8 pm. To accommodate the surgery, I paid for room nearby as post opp was the next morning. I was 2nd to last person being worked on when I heard LOUD uncomfortable discussion btwn the MD(Dr. A.) and surgeon– Dr. Oday. Dr O’day then left in a huff leaving several ppl in the waiting room. The front office mgr blamed it on faulty equipment coupled with fatigue. This is your eyesight PPL, if you aren’t comfy with the attending surgeon — don’t do it. The young lady in front of me, waited 4 hrs and still nothing. She had the privilege of hearing Dr O’day complain about how long a day he had and driving in from Charleston that afternoon. I left after I told mgmt. that 1– I expected a full refund with consideration for hotel and missing work 2– I did not want Dr. O’day performing my surgery. I was told I would receive call with more dates and a choice of another surgeon. One wk later, I am calling daily only to be told this, that and the 3rd. I finally got a refund but what about my hotel stay, calling off work and so on– this whole affair cost me upwards of $ 400??? Unprofessional, horrible bedside manner and complete waste of my time. Not to mention, I had my heart set on this surgery bc I had been wearing glasses n contacts for 28 yrs! PS they now refuse to send over my evaluation to any other center. Word to the wise… stay away. if it doesn’t feel right don’t do it… regardless of the price. This place has no respect for this clients and the idea that this is LIFEALTERINGSURGERY.

Beware — I contacted my ins. company, KP, and was sent a list of current providers, copay $ 20.00, hardware(glasses)up to $ 150. Called The Atlanta Vision Cataract and Laser Center in Hapeville and made appt. for a basic eye exam for eye glasses. When I arrived for visit today, was told their copay was $ 45. I advised copay should only be $ 20 and was told they had not been a provider for KP for several years but accepted KP’s 3rd party ins. Avesis. I insisted the copay should be only $ 20 and this was given to me by KP. Story changed they then had a $ 20 copay plus additional $ 25 fee because they dilated eyes and did comprehensive exam. Again I told them I had made an appt for a ROUTINEEYEEXAM. One of the 3 doctors came out of the back at that point and asked receptionist what ins. carrier. KP. By this point things didn’t feel right so I politely told them thanks but I would find a Dr. who accepted my ins. I went to my car and immediately called KP and was told The Atlanta Vision Cataract and Laser Center was listed as an ACTIVE provider in the system, the copay should be $ 20.00 and the office should have called to verify that. I was emailed a link to current provider list and called another Dr’s office and sure enough it was a $ 20 copay but they were unable to verify all of my coverage because«another office» had already gotten an ins. authorization today. I had to call KP and get # for Avesis who verified The Atlanta Vision Cataract and Laser Center had checked my copay earlier today and received authorization. I had to have that authorization cleared before I can use my ins. at another Dr’s office. It feels like The Atlanta Vision Cataract and Laser Center is trying to scam people.
