If I could rate this company with no stars I would. July 2009 I went with Clear and signed a two year agreement. In that time about every four to six months I have to request a new mobile device because the current device is faulty. With only one month left on my contract I have had a horrible experience. DONOTGOWITHCLEAR After speaking with two tech support reps who didn’t have a clue I had no other course of action then to close my account. After holding for thirty minutes to close my account and not getting an answerI gave up and said I would use the chat link on their site the next day. Needless to say when I used the chat(service, if it can be called that) I was told to call the same number I called the night before to no avail. If you’re looking for great or even good customer service, go elsewhere.

I signed up for Clear about two weeks ago. Because I have no idea where I will be in two years, I opted for the plan where I have no commitment and pay for the USB modem for $ 59.95 and a $ 35 activation fee. I opted for the $ 50 mobile unlimited plan. The sales person with whom I dealt didn’t seem very knowledgeable about the product, service, or the fine print. Several times he deferred to his co-worker when I asked questions, while other times he was very vague or gave an answer that didn’t match what he had just told me. Prior to visiting the store, I called Customer Service several times to ask questions and found them to be high-pressure and not very knowledgeable. I sense a theme here, it seems like Clear hasn’t trained their employees thoroughly. After about 20 minutes of back-and-forth and medium-level pressure from the sales guy, I left with my gear, excited to get home and give the service a try. At home, I popped the USB modem into my laptop and ran the start up software from the CD provided. Since then, I have been thrilled! The service has been fast and has not gone out, even for a second. I am now streaming movies and downloading files left and right at amazing speeds. I previously had Comcast and had become quite annoyed by random service outages, sometimes followed by days waiting for service to be restored and no explanation for the outage. Yes, Clear is more expensive than Comcast, but it is also must more reliable and I couldn’t be happier. And I’m not tied down to a cord and don’t have to deal with a wireless router. Once I got past the sales reps and got my service up and running, I couldn’t have been happier. What an improvement over unreliable Comcast!
