On a recent weekend trip to Atlanta, I visited The Grape. For a Friday evening, the restaurant was fairly empty. My group of friends were seated rapidly and speedily attended to. The staff was welcoming and friendly, as service was pretty good. I really enjoyed the fish tacos that I ordered and my friends really enjoyed their entrees as well. The Grape also offers a plethora of wine choices. Overall, I would recommend this restaurant; but don’t expect any fancy bells and whistles that are commonly associated with this area of Atlanta.

I have been a dedicated fan, and decided today, 30 September I would take my mother out for lunch. We were seated rapidly, given menus and asked what we like to drink and we both replied«water for now.» That was the last we saw of our host/server. We waited 20 minutes in an empty restaurant(six customers in total, including my mother and I). Needless to say we left. I will NOT return again!

Since Phipps has temporiarly closed the food court as the prepare for the LegoLand Adventure Park, this has become a lunch/dinner option for those days when I am working in the area. They’ve gone up on the prices, and IMO if you get one salad, its no different than all the other salads they have on the menu. prices are reasonable for this part of Atlanta, and most times the servers are friendly and on point when it comes to things like refilling your glass, asking if you need anything else, and bringing you your check. They no longer giver 40% off to mall employees, but why would they when they are one of the only four choices in the mall.

A great place to stop by for a quick glass of wine either before or after your movie or shopping excursion at Phipps. The bartenders are knowledgeable and friendly. A good selection of wine at a fairly reasonable price. I didn’t try the food, however.

This is my go-to Grape so I’ll choose this one to review, although I have been to the one in Vinings Jubilee quite a bit and it is excellent as well. I love The Grape. I adore all of the renovations, the menu change, the fact that the moment you sit down someone brings you a taste of wine and explains exactly what you’re drinking. My girlfriends and I come all the time. My favorite menu item? As weird as it sounds? The hummus. It’s out of this world good and comes with these stuffed peppers that make me want to go back again and again. Love it, love everything about it. Did I mention it’s extremely reasonable price wise as well?

I’d always been curious about Grape but gave up after hearing the food was expensive and just ok. Then I got the 50% Scoutmob offer and decided why not try it out for myself. Overall I thought the food was pretty good, the prices were reasonable, service was excellent, and I liked the casual ambiance. I got there before my friend arrived, and our server started me off with a complimentary taste of one of their white wines which was very nice. For wines, they also offer ½ glass sizes which is what I got — but I lucked out b/c they accidentally poured me a full glass. $ 5 for a full glass of merlot ain’t that bad :) We also lucked out with the food b/c they accidentally gave us the lunch menu. Well not really b/c our apps and my entrée were the same price for lunch & dinner anyway, but my friend got to have the lunch portion for his entrée :) For apps, we got the«Chipotle Shrimp Flatbread»(reg. $ 10) b/c our server said that was his favorite — and fortunately we liked it, too. The shrimp had a nice kick, with fresh tomatoes & a cilantro lime dressing. Great app for sharing. For dinner, I got the«Herb Roasted Springer Mountain Chicken»(reg. $ 13) b/c our server said this was his favorite, too. He’d done us right with the app so I put my faith in him for the entrée. Normally I don’t like to order chicken at a restaurant b/c I think chicken is something I can make myself — but this chicken was really good, juicy & tender. It was carmelized in shallot butter, and came w/grilled asparagus and herb roasted fingerling potatoes. The chicken skin was flavorful, too :) My friend got the«Jumbo Lump Crab Cake»(reg. $ 12 for lunch portion which is just one cake) … this was disappointing. We probably should’ve known since our server didn’t call this one out as one of his favorites. The crab cake was mushy tasting like soggy bread, with a heavy mayonnaise-y flavor. It came w/a mixed green salad & yellow tomato coulis. Clientele was mostly female — probably a great place for single guys who are seeking lady friends. The Tavern next door was packed with people on the patio — Grape in comparison was more laid back, more my kind of place. Overall 3.5 stars rounded to 4 — I’d definitely come back. FYI — check their website for this month’s happy hour specials. For October, they have ½ price flatbread and $ 5 sangrias from Mon-Fri 4 – 6:30pm.

I’m just going to start off by saying that this review is only for the food. I came here with Kevin C. We ordered 2 flatbreads, the pulled pork and the shrimp. Kevin also tasted 3 wines and ended up ordering a glass of wine. Shrimp flatbread($ 10) Pulled Pork flatbread($ 9) The flatbreads were presented very well. they were cut into 8 pieces, each about 2 or 3 bites and served 2×4 on an oak plank. However, there were some issues which prevented the flatbread from achieving greatness in my mind., they were still good, but only average. The pulled pork was just bit dry but pleasantly flavored with a light smokiness and a slight sweetness from the BBQ sauce(which was used as the base). The tender shrimp in the flatbread were a overpowered by the very pronounced use of garlic butter in its base. There was also a strong ocean flavor coming from the shrimp as well, and none of that delicate sweetness that comes from fresh shrimp. I personally preferred the pork flatbread more. Another thing that I noticed was that the flatbread began to get soggy as you moved away from the crisp crust. Someone please correct me if I’m wrong, but I always assumed that a flatbread was supposed to be lightly crisp through. The service here was great though(I thought the waiter might have been hitting on Kevin… and Kevin didn’t make it any better after asking for a fruity wine). But it appears that if you are hesitant about picking a wine, they will bring out a few samples for you to try. The waiter was also very knowledgeable about the wine he was serving. In the end, this place is good for grabbing a lite bite and sipping on some wine while relaxing. Probably a really good date spot(which I later told all my friends who are in relationships)

I had forgotten about The Grape. After the neon purple Usher diaster in Inman park(Yes I’m dating myself) The Grape went into the never again pile. I was wrong, oh so wrong. The Grape at Phipps was pretty close to perfection. Customers were greeted at the door, my server was knowledgable, helpful, eager to share and just darn friendly. The wine list was accessable and the flatbreads were TASTEY. The night I went had live music which just took it to the next level. I left full, buzzed, and not flat broke!

I went here on a weeknight and they had $ 5 sangria and 50% off flatbreads. That screams perfection to me after saying that I needed a drink… at 10:00 in the morning, on a Tuesday. It was that kind of day, knowwhatI’msayin?!? I had the red sangria, which was delicious. Not too strong, but not too sweet. I also had the shrimp flatbread, which was perfectly crispy and had a nice amount of spice. The service was great– I was greeted by the manager when I walked in, and our server was friendly. He understood that we were there mainly to chat, so he didn’t check in with us every 2 seconds or ask us 50x if we needed another drink. Grape exceeded my expectations– it was a great place to hang out after work… I’ll be back!

They have really good food here! Most of the options are a bit pricey but there are some affordable(less than $ 20) options. My fiancé had the scallops and I had the fish tacos and both were very tasty. I wish we had felt like ordering wine because this seemed like the perfect place to drink some wine! My only complaint is the noise factor. We went around 8−9PM on a Friday and it was NOISY! It could be because this place is small or because there was a really rowdy group of people at the bar but it was really hard to hear at times. The service was great too.

The main draw here is the EXTENSIVE selections of wine available by the 3oz pour and by the glass. It probably exceeds 75 wines. The prices are fair @ $ 4 – 6, and $ 8+ for a full glass. After a BIG delay upon being seated, I sought out the manager to inquire if anyone was going to come to our table to take our order. He immediately responded with a mouthful of wine for each of us(however, considering what they serve, a glass on the house would not have been too much to expect — not that I was seeking anythiong other than service, mind you)!!! Chicken Quesadilla $ 10 was a great starter. Also, the two salads we ordered(Asian Salmon, $ 13, and Greek Salad w/chicken, $ 13) were good enough for us to justify returning and have more food and wine. Hopefully better service in this wine bar/restaurant next time.

The heck with it, I’m giving it a high review! :) Out with a good close friend of mine Su to do a little girls night out. We had dinner already so we only ordered a glass of dessert wine and an appetizer — I believe it was the hummus??? Appetizer was great! Presentation was great and the taste was great as well. Fresh hot flat bread, great hummus dip, great tasting olives, and a lovely presentation. We had a fairly sweet dessert white wine. If you do want to know, I recall the bottle was dark blue and they have the wine in white and red, but the red was very light in hue. Sorry I would’ve remembered the name of it, but I couldn’t think of it now. I’ll try to remember it next time. I had been here several times before and the experience had been rather nice. There were times when the server would forget you, but most of the time, when they attend to you, they’re all quite nice and friendly. Out of other celebrity restaurants, I like this one more. Good job Usher!

Fun birthday lunch with my girl Moofy/Maggie/whatever she wants to be called L. and friends = time to update my review of The Grape! I was perhaps a skosh generous with 4-stars before, and should’ve given a 3-star rating, so I don’t think of this as a de-rating or downgrade as much of as a re-calibration. That being said, our lunch was lovely on the whole, the food was good and there have been some worth-noting changes of which you should be made aware! No more $ 10 wine specials, at least at the moment. It is Saturday, right? Yep. Ok, then, unfortunately, no more of those previously reported by the glass deals. Maybe they’ll be back… New menu — thanks to a new chef — and I’ve got mixed feelings. It looks totally different, because it’s no longer a «book,» with the helpful wine– and champagne-pairing suggestions that they used to have, but a standard one-page paper menu with all the wines and champagnes listed by ½ glass, glass and bottle on the back. I always thought it was kinda fun to peruse«by grape» and decide to maybe try something new to go with whatever I was eating. It also seems that they culled the menu down a bit and have fewer selections. Other than those two observations, all is good at The Grape. My old fave steak«quesadilla» is now a «knife and fork» steak sandwich that I look forward to trying. The pork flatbread is really tasty(it has corn and onion and is enough for a meal for one or to share as a starter for two — definitely recommend this). They still have the very tasty grilled chicken caesar that one of our group much enjoyed, and the chicken club sandwich that two of our group mightly devoured with gusto! We all agreed that the foccaccia bread on both the chicken club and Maggie’s pork-with-coleslaw sandwich was extremely fresh and not-dense, in a good way — yum. I made a few picks from the cheese and charcuterie(or meat, as I’m apt to call it, he he he) selections — very delicious! A lovely goat-ish cheese and a kind of cheddar blend, and a Genoa Ham, served with bread slices and sundried tomatoes and pepperoncini. Mmm. You can also do a «pick 5» with a bottle of Rioja for $ 36(each selection is $ 3 ordered separately). We had a lovely girls outing, dining on the patio then moving inside to finish our cocktails — a Cosmo for the birthday girl, one Appletini, one fuzzy navel(hey, it was a really nice day out!), a glass of Gruet Blanc de Noir for me and a Chardonnay chosen by the waitress for our diner who wanted some guidance on what would go best with her sandwich(the waitress was nice enough to bring her two«tastings» so she could sample and pick her favorite) — and got Miss M’s pre-evening festivities off to a good start!

Went there for lunch with my friends. My favorite item on their menu(or maybe not on the menu) is the bread. Or was it the butter… i believe it was the combination of both. I ate mine and my other friends’ slices(im greedy like that). I wasnt in the mood for wine so i got some coke to drink and ordered the stuffed mushroom… i forget what its called. It was really bland and it kinda grossed me out. I did NOT like it. My friends thought their dishes were just«okay». Nothing spectacular. The dessert was also good… i believe it was a chocolate cheesecake with ice cream on top(also dont remember what it was called). I really liked the setting though… its great to just hang out, chill and have few glasses of wine but the food menu is nothing to write home about. I like to give most places a 2nd chance but not the Grape.

I’ve been to several locations of The Grape(including the now defunct one in Norcross) and they’re all the same. Overpriced and the portions are woefully inadequate. I expect more for my money than a «sandwich» that barely qualifies for the name. The wine selection is expansive, but again, overpriced. I would probably only come here again if I wasn’t the one paying. There was nothing fun or unique about the experience. The service was adequate, the food was good, but not great, and the prices were too high.

By outside appearances, this place seems pretty unassuming, but trust me it packs a punch. I met a friend here for cocktails after work on Friday and I was surprised by a few things(a few good surprises and a few not-so-good surprises). Here are the surprises in order of appearance: — We entered, were seated quickly, and the hostess let us know that our server would be with us shortly. Let’s fast forward about 5 minutes(that’s actual minutes… it felt like about 10) when another server walked by and when she saw that we looked a little impatient told us «Your server has to do a wine tasting and he hasn’t forgotten about you.» Since we didn’t want to impose on the server, we graciously got up from the table and sat at the bar. Surprise #1: Table service takes a back seat to wine tastings during Happy Hour. Bad. –In addition to our wine, the smoked salmon appetizer and a roast beef tenderloin quesadilla were ordered for us to munch on. The salmon was great and the quesadilla was amazing! They call it a «Mediterranean Quesadilla» and it’s served on pita bread. Surprise #2: This wine store has some good food. Good. Surprise #3: Quesadillas aren’t only for tortilla lovers. Good. Total Score: 67% Good /33% Bad The wine list is cleverly color coded according to the taste of each bottle offered. I really enjoyed my food and the atmosphere was exactly what I needed after a long day of meetings. It’s unfortunate that their service team doesn’t seem very professional or service-oriented. It didn’t comfort me to know that my server hadn’t forgotten about me, he was just busier doing better things and no one else could get my order. Also, our bartender looked a little shabbier than I would have expected at a wine bar. Yes, she is young and she talked like she was in high school when explaining the wines, but it seems like they should have a uniform to wear. The Grape is a growing company with lots of new franchise locations opening. This was my first visit to one of their stores and even though I don’t think I’ll be back to this one, hopefully one of the others is being run by owners with higher customer service standards.
